January 26Jan 26 I normally fly MS2024. I still have MS2020 on my computer and decided to get into it and do some comparsions, but I can't access it. During start up an XBOX box pops up saying "Lets get you signed in". I hit the sign in button which then gives me several options - "Email or phone number" - "forgot your user name?". etc. Problem is nothing I click on works. Can't select any thing to get in the program. Any advice would be appriciated. Jim

Type the username into Notepad, copy it to the clipboard, then rapidly left mouse click on the box while pasting the text with Ctrl-V. Repeat for the password. There might be a more "scientific" solution... January 26Jan 26 I have a vague recollection that this is caused by conflicts between peripherals. Try unplugging all external devices except for the keyboard and mouse. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
January 26Jan 26 Author Thanks for the guidance. Before I try your suggestion, is there a way to enlarge the box? It's hard on my old eyes to read the extremly small letters. Jim

Jim Maybe this might help? The Windows in-built magnification tool - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-magnifier-to-make-things-on-the-screen-easier-to-see-414948ba-8b1c-d3bd-8615-0e5e32204198 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

I've just been struggling with this particular piece of nonsense trying to set up my backup/test PC. Spent two days tearing my hair out until Google AI came up with this explanation. We're talking controllers here, and apparently the Honeycomb Alpha is a major culprit. How the **** stuff like this happens I don't understand. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
January 26Jan 26 Author Still could not make any progress in logging in to ms2020. Finally decided not to fight it anymore so I removed ms2020 from my puter. Haven't used it much anyhow since I only use ms2024 for my flying. Thanks for all your help. Jim
January 27Jan 27 The same thing is happening to me. I cannot login to Microsoft. The recent Windows updates are probably the issue. I unplugged everything USB except mouse and keyboard. Did not help. But actually I don't need to sign in to Microsoft. But if I had to, it would be difficult. There is one long way: point mouse cursor to the box and type the next one letter of the password. Keep trying it over and over: first mouse click then type the one letter. Only type the letter once or may enter it twice. Doing it this way might take 30 seconds for each letter of the password. Eventually it will complete. The problem is focus. The Windows window is focused on the X to close that window. It is not focused on the text box. It only focuses on the text box for a half second when you click on it. Then it jumps the focus back to the X. The cut and paste suggestion above by flyingscampi might be faster if you can keep trying that instead. Another way might be this: use another computer to temporarily change your Microsoft password to a short one, like two letters long. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
January 27Jan 27 Another oddity is this: when you restart Windows there is never a problem typing in your password to boot into Windows desktop. I guess that is because Windows has not yet started, and so the Windows addons that is creating the problem isn't present. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. January 27Jan 27 Brute force, always works: unplug every USB device and hub, except mouse and keyboard. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
