Just wait until we all have personal robots in our houses, driven by AI. Robots that will be able to talk to each other on their own version of AI reddit, which already exists.

Wonder if it captured any images of what I was doing with that vacuum hose??  😱

Maybe they won’t take over.  They’ll be so smart and self aware yet be doomed to do mundane tasks.  Think Marvin the robot: “Here I am, with a brain the size of a planet, vacuuming.”

I don't currently have a phone, and my desktop has no microphone or camera. What I do have is a smart thermostat with internet connectivity to get outside temperature. I can also log in remotely to change the thermostat settings. I have not given the company permission to change the settings for me, no matter how many times they ask. I don't think it has a microphone. 🙂  I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a camera.

Note: The above exchange is fictional. I hope. But if I was writing embedded code for a toothbrush, I'd probably add this feature "for convenience".
