Okay the 777F seems pretty boring. Does this thing have character? Soul?

It's straight out of Motown, baby.

Yeah, with the MD11 and the DC10, you have to anticipate and stay ahead of the jet. For speed changes, we used two techniques in the DC10. 10% of gross weight + 23 for approach. So for 400K lb

  • Like most of you, I own just about every payware tubeliner there is out there and ever since the new version came out for this, it is a struggle to tear my self away from this one to fly another.... T

  • Plenty. You will not be disappointed. Blue skies, -B

I bought the F version with the estended simulation thing, it's expensive but I like it and the dev seems to support it constantly improving and/or adding new features. Very good flight model and simulated systems, it has a "soul", it's vram hungry but it works very well with my system. I think that these old glories are the best option for who like me is bored with all those Airbuses and Boeing flying around. Also, the MD-11 autolands very gracefully, but landing it manually isn't that difficult, although the usual flap/speed combination 35/165 is a bit challenging.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

The MD-11 uses a fully custom autopilot, which is why the Bravo (which uses native MSFS assignments) won't work out of the box.

The MD-11 does install it's own SDK though, which can be read by AAO, meaning assignment can be done using that utility.

PS.. it's "tiller", not "triller" 🙂

Thanks for your reply. What is AAO? They worked In msfs 2020

AAO is Axis And Ohs by Lorby, a very popular flight sim interface software that allows advanced assigning of functions to hardware and key presses.   Functions like those of a custom autopilot, that don't work with standard MSFS key commands can be assigned using AAO.

Not that I'm suggesting you buy it just for the MD-11. That probably wouldn't be worth it.

The MSFS 2024 version of the MD-11 adds a lot of capabilities like this.  It's the first addon that adds it's own SDK, for things like this; assigning highly customized functions to keys or hardware.
