Virtual Copilot "CrewMate INIA350" Help with testing needed

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I got tired of waiting for the FS2Crew version for the Inibuilds A350, so I built my own free and open source version.

What it does:

Voice commands (gear, flaps, lights, anti-ice, autopilot, etc.): All processed locally, nothing sent anywhere
Automated flows (power up, before/after start, takeoff, climb/descent passing FL100, after landing, shutdown)
Interactive spoken checklists (this still needs A LOT of improvement)Reflect the current checklists INI implemented
Multiple FO voice packs (currently all AZURE generated)

The app still has a long way to go, and there's a lot to be refined.

Why am I releasing it now? I'm coding this solo, and testing everything on my own takes forever. If you fly the Inibuilds A350 and see value in something like this, even one sector's worth of feedback would be a huge help.

Download

If you want to contribute to the app:

Full GitHub repo (this is my first open source project, so expect some hiccups)

Install, launch, download a voice model from settings, and have fun.

Bug reports, SOP corrections, and general feedback are all welcome here or as a GitHub issue.

In my FSX days, I was using FS2Crew with my iFly and PMDG 737 NG, almost on every flight, for about a year. I recall, my favorite was the “Attendant” button to summon cabin crew for Coffee and such, which, of course, never materialized...🙂

Seriously, the FS2Crew is indeed highly immersive. In MSFS2024, I fly the A350 a lot, but I don’t have access to FS2Crew on Xbox/Marketplace (yet).

I hope some folks here may like to test and help you out. There are indeed a few (active) A350 aviators…around here…

“Could you bring us a cup of coffee?” good old days! 😀

Exactly the kind of immersion I’m hoping to recreate, make flights feel alive.

Flight Sim First Officer (FSFO) fully supports the iniA350.  And yes, you can ask the cabin crew for a cup of coffee via the FSFO intercom system.  🙂

This video is for the iniA330; however, the app works the same for the A350:

This Friday, the copilot for the TFDi MD11 will be released:

Actually, I did make bit of an attempt, to have my better half bring me a cup of coffee instead, when I pressed that Attendant button.

Of course, that request was categorically denied...been told that I'm neither a real pilot nor I'm in a real cockpit. Fetch it yourself ...🙂...

Multi Crew Experience gets rarely mentioned even though it covers all what you mentioned and way beyond!

Co-pilot can work the flows as you wish, execute specific commands and handle ATC, you can interact with ATC, cabin and ground crews, all this through voice recognition.

There is a free trial version available and most complex add-ons are covered. I have been flying with it since release. They have a very helpful support on AVSIM and are open for suggestion.

FSFO and MCE (I used quite a lot back in the FSX days) are definitely great tools.

The main reason I started this is that they are paid, and I wanted to create a free alternative. As a solo dev, I won’t reach the same level as those apps, thats is why I decided to make it open source so others can contribute, improve it, or even adapt it for other aircraft.

The poor guy has posted asking for help with his freeware product he is developing, and asking for a few testers to help find a few bugs and most people posting in here are just promoting other products.  Marxio09dio, i'll download it this weekend and give it a try out.

As the developer of FSFO, I can confirm that MCE is wonderful product, which is well supported and fairly priced.  They're a bunch of great people with a great product.

The OP is asking for beta help with his own (freeware) development.  Not recommendations for payware alternatives.

And literally no one on this page offered to help, including you. The genesis of his freeware program was the absence of an FS2Crew profile; therefore, it seems entirely reasonable to make him aware that alternatives to FS2Crew exist which may satisfy his requirements and spare him from wasting precious time creating his own profile. If he still wants to build his own freeware profile, I would be more than willing to help the OP with any programming issues he may encounter.

I’m very familiar with the alternatives mentioned above, and they are definitely good.

One of my goals was also to create a free alternative that is also open source so the community can contribute (like the FBW for example)

I’ve been developing this for about three months now, so I’m definitely invested in it 🙂 If you’d like to give it a try and help test it, that would be very much appreciated.

Hi everyone,

Since I made this post, the app has matured quite a lot, thanks to the contributions and feedback from so many of you. I really appreciate it!

Main changes since the initial release (full changelog here )

- Replaced VOSK with the Windows Speech Engine and added a custom Speech Trainer (you can provide your own phrases to train).
- Added a helper panel that hints at what you can say and when to say it.
- Full autopilot voice commands (push/pull/set speed/heading/altitude)
- Flows now follow 2026 FCOM standards, including single-engine taxi, engine shutdown/start commands, and go-around flows.
- Ground Engineer role to handle GPU/ASU/ACU connections and disconnections
- "Please" is supported as a prefix or suffix on any command (you can now be polite to your copilot).
- Slide arm/disarm commands, cabin curtain control.
- "Passing FLXXX Now" callout when setting standard baro
- Option to choose microphone and audio output devices
- Lots of flow, checklist, and voice command refinements throughout

I also recorded a short video walkthrough (please don't judge my video skills, I can say with full confidence that a YouTube career is not in my future 😄)

As always, any feedback, bug reports, or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks again to everyone who has helped shape this!
