No D/L'ed Liveries for 2024

Featured Replies

Every time I d/l a new livery for a 2024 plane it

never works...does not show up under liveries...

what am I doing wrong?....

Be specific

What livery?  Did you add it to your community folder?  Steam or Xbox (msstore)?

My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL |
| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

I wonder if this is related to an oddity I've noted in '24.  All liveries added to the community folder (or at least the ones I've tried so far) will show up as a separate variant.  Click on the variant and sometimes, all other community folder liveries show up under the Livery tab.  Other times, some will show up as additional variants, visible without going to the Livery tab.  Doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to it.  They're all available, just not always where I expect to find them.

Hopefully my description makes sense, because the behavior doesn't - at least to me.

This is typically accurate for non native 2024 aircraft.  Or where people added their own variation title and 2024 doesn't process that very well.

But I still would like to know what he's trying to install so we can help.

6MF is my paint.

So first things first - purchased from the store?  The marketplace or Just Flight?  There is an issue with some black square marketplace addons where they changed the file name and rendered all third party paints inop.  So frustrating actually.  I don't have time to go and change all my paints.  If you bought it at Just Flight it should still work.  If you did get it at the marketplace is IS possible to get it working with a ctrl+H (basically the Replace function using notepad++).  But I have to confirm it works for the dukes because I know it affected the TBM 850...

Just make sure you grab the 2024 download though as shown in my pic

If you've got it at JF store, AND you grabbed the 2024 version, your next thing to check:  Did you extract just the root folder to your AL directory?

For example my file path is this:  D:\CommunityforMSFS2024\Liveries\B60T\bksq_turbineduke_N816MF_2024 - you should see the folder name of the last line there - thats what needs to go into the Community folder.  If you extracted it and see "SimObjects" and layout.json and manifest.json it WONT WORK.

Hi Ryan...I bought the Duke from JustFlight....many

updates since then...I have put extracted livery  file in just

as you have described...one combined file, not three

separate as you warned against...still, I have no good

result...

You said you're using Addons Linker.  Does the livery folder show up as a valid link in the Community folder when you enable it?  You can see this status in the right hand panel in Addons Linker.  Valid links show up with a light green background.  And further to that, are you sure that you've pointed Addons Linker to the correct folder for your installation of MSFS 2024?  Do other things you've linked work properly?

And finally, where, specifically, are you looking in MSFS for the livery?

I am using the correct folder for Liveries in my Community

folder...everything works perfectly in my Community folder with

the  AddonLinker....and I look for the livery as a tab under the

Configure tab....which has tabs  for Variant and Weing & Payload

as well....

Did you get the main download AND 2024?

The main download is not needed for '24, only the second which references 2024.

The current version shown for 2024 is 1.2, not 1.1.  See the screenshot Ryan posted.

Download this and unzip it.  This should leave you with a folder called "bksq_turbineduke_N816MF_2024".  This is the folder which needs to go in your Community folder.  Or, if using Addons Linker, placed where you've set up there, enabled and verified as a valid link as I referenced earlier.

Do these things and it WILL WORK.  If it doesn't, you've missed something.

Well i downloaded one of Ryan’s 35A liveries, and it had two files. First i downloaded just the 2024 file, but nothing showed up. Just for the heck of it i downloaded the Main file, and then it worked. Everything looks perfect too. This was the only livery i had to do that for.

I DL'd and tested this one before posting to be sure.  Just the second one is correct.
