Lighting In MSFS 2024 Is so good

Featured Replies

I am doing a late day approach into KPVU Provo UT and am super impressed with the lighting.  Cloud lighting is also spectacular.  I don't do pics but can anyone else support me on the lighting improvements in MSFS 2024?

I think you’ll need to figure out how to do pictures … it would help.

Yeah, MS2024 can produce some amazing screen grabs at dusk and dawn. The view is amazing!

I've recent turned HDR back on as I had it turned off in Win11 for a while, can't recall why. Anyway I agree night flying is beautiful now.  Continental Europe looks amazing.

I find in 2020 and 2024 that colours, especially colour temperature, is still poor. Visuals by default are also soft even at 4K, TAA or DLSS/DLAA.

Everything is also quite flat due to a lack of contrast or levels curves.  I use a range of ReShade filters to improve things.

Msfs 2024 looks insanely good with HDR on granted you have a good hdr display. The sky looks amazing with great depth and the colors look vivid. Just adjust the exposure compensation setting so that whites dont get blown out. I dont even bother with sdr now. No reshade, no rex atmos, nothing. Just default.
