GSX Shutting down

Featured Replies

Just got gsx and using it with the PMDG 737. Everything works perfect at departure airport but once I take off gsx shuts down and when I land no airport marshalls or anything. I have made sure in settings that shut off at cruise is not checked. Thanks for any help

There is an option to disable GSX during flight in its settings so perhaps that might be the issue, in that it doesn't start back up at arrival. I really enjoy GSX especially w/ the recent move to version 4.x, but I always prefer to use the default marshals instead of GSX'. This is done by using the Subtle Taxi Ribbon option, a lovely discrete way to get you to the gate where default marshaling happens w/o any fuss it just takes you directly there with a few green dots to lead your aircraft to the arrival gate. I prefer the animation quality of the default marshals is a good part of why.

Yes, I have that option turned off. Yes I know about the taxi ribbon BUT I paid for gsx would be nice if I can get it to work. Every flight it shuts off right after takeoff. Not sure what to try. I have reinstalled twice.

Why not try posting your problems over on their support forum?

I would first check whether GSX itself is closing, or whether it is still running but not detecting the arrival airport properly. After takeoff, try opening the GSX menu once and see if it is still responsive. Then on arrival, before parking, try restarting Couatl from the GSX/FSDT menu and see if the marshallers come back. If that brings it back, at least you know it is more of a Couatl/session issue than a PMDG profile issue.

I use GSX with the PMDG too and it normally stays available after landing, so if it happens every flight after a reinstall I would grab the Couatl log and post it on the FSDT support forum or Discord. That sounds more specific than a normal setting toggle.

I usually get a faster response here. 😃

I wanted to say thank you. If it wasn't for you, I would have scrapped GSX. I'm glad that I decided to install it and now I think it's an essential add-on even for business jets.

I have a quick question, how do I completely shut down GSX at the end of the flight?

MSFS 2024 is my sim choice everyday and twice on Sundays.

You can just close the sim and GSX will close as well.

When I close the sim, sometimes it hangs. This is an issue that began after installing GSX. Maybe it's a specific airport or GSX causing the issue. The only way to know if it's GSX is to close it before I close the sim. If I disable GSX, the sim does not hand on close.

It only happens occasionally. That's why I'm trying to find a fix.

edit thought it might be related to not using the hot key to open gs menu
