Asobo new ATR underpower ?

Featured Replies

No worries, this will be fixed in the ATR compatibility update for MSFS 2028.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

The ATR is a dog IRL. We don’t cruise at FL250 unless we’re pretty light. Fully loaded 72s generally around 190/200. In the 42, expect 290 TAS or so, in the 72, 270ish. It’s not a fast airplane. Q400s

Oh yeah it’s fine. We have some pretty intense engine out scenarios up north here with terrain and the ATR does just fine.

Someone who worked for Bombardier in sales. They had a couple of airlines back out of contracts late in the process when Airbus came in with a stupidly low price if they bought ATR's instead.

Obviously, it's not an unbaised source, but Boeing did the same thing by offering suspiciously low prices on 737's (especially after the MAX debacles), so that tactic isn't unheard of in aviation.

I'm not saying that Airbus was entirely responsible for the Q400 line shutting down, since Bombardier didn't run their commercial aircraft division well at all towards the end, but Airbus likely sped the process up a bit.

Just to say that ATR is not Airbus and vice versa. They are separate companies.

Since it's an Expert Series aircraft and not a default aircraft, updates don't come with Sim Updates but whenever Microsoft decides they want to release them.

Hopefully Hans has been made aware of it and is investigating.
