July 30Jul 30 Author I went in the sea for the first time, recently. What's this strange below the surface force that's making me lose my balance, I thought. 🤔 And that was in a reasonably calm sea at about waist height. I shudder to think what a full on riptide would be like.

I realized what it was and I swam parallel to the shoreline until I exited the rip current, then I could swim to shore.
