I am running a very poor sound card and was experiencing 1-6 second delays in phrasing until I increased the priority of process 'rcv4.exe' from 'Normal' to High' using Windows Task Manager. Phrasing is much improved now. Still slower of course than the real ATC wavs but much better than before.

that is another work around for a poor sound card, or a integrated sound on the mother board. but you're stealing cycles from fs to pay rc.what sound card do you have?jd

Using a Turtle Beach Montego (I replaced the 'ea' with 'it' in Beach and name is now more appropriate) but have not noticed any drop in performance anywhere.

cool. enjoy. i think i had one of those cards a while agojd

There is a procedure to permanently assign priority to High for any process, but it escapes me for the time being.

Thanks JD I'll do that.Very much enjoying RC4, and in fact I have turned of all pilot wavs and am doing most flights with Game Commander voice recognition. For example, I programmed the phrase "United 995 request taxi to the active" into GC, which will then choose selection 1 in the ADV display window for me. "Tower, United 995 ready to go" programmed to do the same when asked to contact tower. Incredible !

i may need to talk to you in a few months.in the code, all commented out for later implementation, is voice recognition code. i didn't have the time or patience to play with it.but, if you have the time..since so many options can be on multiple pages of the menu, it's difficult to make VR work right.for instance, emergency. you can say "mayday mayday mayday", your software hears that, and sends a specific key sequence, ~1234 for instance. my program when it sees ~1234 executes the emergency key on the right menu.same for "request directy checkpoint". that would send a different sequence of codes, which i would interepret as if you had gone to the second menu page, and pressed that option.give me a chance to breath, and enjoy the rest of my vacation, and maybe that's something we can tee up for 4.1jd

I just have simple commands entered at this point but yes, with some creative programming a voice recognition program can really make RC come alive. I will be happy to help in any way I can.

JD,"give me a chance to breath, and enjoy the rest of my vacation"Then take also a leave from the forum ! Happy New Year JD.
