Q: Taxi instructions in R V4

Featured Replies

John,Yeah, I thought you'd not need to contact arrival in MSFS with RC4, but I've found that there are still aircraft pulling onto the active as I'm on final. Contacting MSFS prevents this. I understand that code to hold ground traffic on to the active is present in RC4, it's just my experience that it is not always effective. Hoefully that's something JD can work on some.Rgds

what are you seeing? if i think they can take off in time, i let them. other wise, i hold themjd

I must be misunderstanding something. If you don't file a flightplan how do you pull it in to the GPS, etc. How do I design and then save as a .pln file for RC to use. Right now I use the MS flight planner to design my flightplans. Tried FSNav, but I think it was the moving msp, made my frames jump all over -- from locked on 20, all the way down to 9 and then all over......and that was with no traffic and few clouds.Getting rid of FSNav got a solid 20 again. Will this work? Design the flightplan with MS, save it. restart FS, go to your departure a/p, start Active Sky, get everything else ready....start RC, load flightplan there, but not file with MS. Is that what you were talking about?Rick

Hi Rick,I can see I need to play around with this again myself to give advice ;-)I think that as soon as you load the plan in FS you have effectively 'filed' it. If you want to try the sort of things being talked about above to get MSATC to give you taxi clearance at departure you'd have to avoid loading the plan until after MS ground has given you the taxi clearance (I think). All the best,John

Hi Rick,If you have FSNav you can use that to design your plan and then use the Export feature to save it as a FS2004 plan. Then open RC4 and load that plan. No need to display FSNav at all during your flight. This way you have a better planner and don't need to restart FS.Cheers,
