June 2, 200719 yr Are you aware of any compatibility problems with RC and Active Sky X as I am experiencing a very weird problem. RC4 is not recognizing any AI aircraft's on the ground. RC4 direct me to taxi to the runway and there are 3 or 4 planes in front of me. After you are airborne everything in the sky is identified. The other interesting point is that Flight Commander 8 does not show any aircraft on the ground. Before I install ASX (SImconnect) everything was fine. I am using the latest version of all required files.Regards,Andrew
June 2, 200719 yr Moderator Hi Andrew,I'm not using FSX (yet) and I don't know any of the RC team that are yet. Does this problem relate to FS9 or FSX?Reading the ASX FAQ it seems FSUIPC is no longer required and is replaced by SimConnect. However the fact that RC does correctly identify aircraft once airborne doesn't seem to suggest a problem between it, FSUIPC and FS9.Is it possible for you to temporarily disconnect Flight Commander 8 and see if it changes anything?FSUIPC v3.75 was released 1 June as was FSUIPC4 v4.11. Are you using the appropriate version?Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). June 2, 200719 yr Author Problem relates to FSX. I have tried disconnecting FSC8 and it does not make any difference. I am using FSUIPC4.11. Sorry not much to go on.Andrew
June 2, 200719 yr Hi,I have exactly the same problem, but without ASX the problem is still here, RC4.3 is not recognizing AI aircraft at the departure airport and after the take-off all work well RC detect AI aircraft.Any suggestions?Christian
June 2, 200719 yr Commercial Member what do you mean not recognize?make a .log, send it to me, and tell me what isn't working by callsignjd JD Read my blog
June 2, 200719 yr Hi,I make the log.I mean it's like no traffic is on the airport (I set for the log AI at 100%), The controller says to take off and I have two aircraft in front of me, in FS9 all works fine.... Thank youChristian
June 2, 200719 yr Moderator Hi Andrew,Yes, sorry should have recognised ASX was for FSX:-)I assume you have 'Interact with Ai' checked in RC4? Also, you must be on the same frequency as the other aircraft to hear comms with them. Sorry if this seems seems obvious but I can't think of what else to suggest.A log would help JD and I see he'sa already asked another sufferer to create one.As a FS9 user it's difficult to support FSX :-( Ray (Cheshire, England). June 2, 200719 yr Commercial Member i don't see any ground ai, which means fsuipc isn't seeing any ground aithere is a program called trafficlook that comes with fsuipcdoes trafficlook see any ground ai?jd JD Read my blog
June 2, 200719 yr Hi,I use FSX SP1 and I have not this program for it just for FS9...I think it doesn't work for FSX.Yes that's the problem no traffic ai is detected at the departure airport, but after while enroute and at the arrival airport yes, it's very strange....ThanksChristian
June 2, 200719 yr Author Guys,In have the exact same problem which Christian describes. NO AI recognised at the airports by either RC4, FSC8 or trafficlook It appears that its not ASX (as Christian is not using this program) so it must be something to do with the new version on FSUPIC or SP1. I did test with the previous ver of FSUPIC and it did not make any difference. So is it SP1??Regards,Andrew
June 2, 200719 yr Author Trafficlook does not come with the FSX version of FSUPIC so I used a previous version which connects and identifies all airborne aircraft but it does not identify ANY aircraft on the ground with the exception of the users aircraft.Regards,Andrew
June 3, 200719 yr Traffic Explorer which does something similar is included with some versions of FSX. It is in the FS9 SDKs from Microsoft. I do not know if the FS9 version will work with FSX.There is if this is a networked PCs issue a thread regarding SimConnect in the Active Sky support forum for reconfiguring SimConnect's xml file to include two sections for the local and remote computer. This may or may not apply.
June 4, 200718 yr Author Ron,Thanks for the link.I have completed some testing by changing the simconnect.xml file as described. You loose the add_on bar on the menu and WideFS does not connect. Still no solution to the problem.Regards,Andrew
