  1. Just like any document, drive....etc.......BACKUP.....OFTEN. I have my FSX backed up in at least 3 places. The FSX folder and also all the the files in the MAIN installation drive.Abe
  2. Mark,Just for your information.I got Multi-Panel from MYPILOTSTORE.COM (different place?) in October, 2009 then Radio Panel in November. Both were packaged ok and both work just fine.Let me know what happens.Abe
  3. Thanks gentlemen. you made me feel comfortable to move the FSX folder.Abe
  4. If I were to relocate my FSX folder from D:\FSX to F:\FSX, except for the obvious registration of FSX, are there any files or pointers that have to be altered to show the new location of FSX? That would save me a lot of time from uninstalling and reinstalling FSX.Appreciate any help.Thanks.Abe
  5. I have each plugged into its own USB port. And when FSX comes on, BOTH light up, simple as that. Never had any problems. Even though somebody pointed out that they do NOT use FSUIPC, they connect to my FSUIPC of FS9. I do not understand, but everything is working just GREAT.Abe
  6. Which is the proper format?multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect /noexecute=optin /3GB /userva=2560ormulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Pro" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /3GB /userva=2560Does it make any difference? Also SPACES or NOT?Thanks.Abe
  7. I have both the Multi-Panel and the Radio-Panel, I use them with FSX and FS9. They work just fine with MOST aircraft. Some aircraft use all the functions maybe except one. Overall, I am very satisfied with it. Both panels light up and become functional, the moment FSX or FS9 is booted. If I load up a saved flight all the correct frequencies light up.Abe
  8. I have both the Saitek MultiPanel and RadioPanel. I use them for both FSX and FS9. For some reason they both like my FSUIPC 3.7 which is in the FS9 folder. If you have FS9 use that as a reference.
  9. The problem is the larger the size the worse the image quality is going to get. That is of course TRUE. There should be some kind of balance between enjoyment of the larger image and the lower resolution.I run the my monitors at 1920x1080 and 1920x1200. I am happy with both displays.Abe
  10. Using a 42" and a 27". The 27 looks TINY. Looking forward to upgrade to 47 or larger. This is the age of WONDERFUL............................42" and up! Prices keep looking better and better.Abe
  11. For a long time I have been using this path FSX\Scenery\Cities\NAMEOFADDEDSCENERY\Scenery and Texture.......never had any problem. Don't forget to activate the new FOLDER.Abe
  12. Beautiful, Ernie, just beautiful. Worked liked a charm. Even my Proflight Radio Panel is working very nicely. Thanks a heap. Very much appreciated.Regards,Abe
  13. Can you swap just the radio stack panel with a radio stack from another aircraft?Another question, I have a radio stack that changes frequency by clicking on the ACTIVE side rather than the STANDBY. Can that be fixed and how? What specific files are involved? Is it just in PANEL.CFG or somewhere else? Thanks.Abe
  14. I just got the Saitek Proflight Radio Panel, I use it alongside the Multi Panel one. When I change the frequencies on the standby window, the frequency in the active window changes. Any cure for that? My multi panel unit works just fine. Appreciate any hellp.Thanks.Abe
  15. If you want something bad enough, you'll eventually find it. I worked for PAN AM and TWA for over 25 years, it took me a long time to collect the different models. Was it hard at times to do that? Of course it was! The final result and the enjoyment were worth every second.Just to watch the following AI's take to the sky and land, it brings history in a different focus:"CONSTELLATION-AIRFRANCE""CONSTELLATION-BOAC""CONSTELLATION-BRANIFF""CONSTELLATION-SABENA""CONSTELLATION-AIRAZUR""CONSTELLATION-QANTAS""CONSTELLATION-TWA 1958""CONSTELLATION-TWA""CONSTELLATION-KLM""CONSTELLATION-PAA""C-82 TWA"
  16. Try TTOOLS or AITOOLS at AVSIM.
  17. The best rewarding AI is simply your OWN. Your OWN aircraft. Your OWN schedules. Your OWN plans. Your OWN starts, routes, and destinations. It takes some doings and TIME.......at the end, it is very REWARDING.Abe

    FSUIPC

Thank you, guys, one and all. All of you represented the many facets of FSUIPC. I am very appreciative of all that. In addition, you also pointed out a few features that I was not aware of. You have, in essence, convinced me without any doubt to join the MULTITUDES and get a REGISTERED FSUIPC.As a footnote, I'd like to add an observation. I happen to enjoy my Saitek Multi-Panel which works seamlessly with practically all aircrafts including addons, in both FSX and FS9. Maybe, I could run things EVEN BETTER taking your advice. Thanks again, gentlemen. It is people like you who make the forums and AVSIM even better.Abe

    FSUIPC

As good and beneficial FSUIPC is acclaimed to be, I realize that it is NOT necessary for FSX or FS9. I do use the unregistered versions for both FSX and FS9. For FS9 I use version 3.7 and for FSX I use 4.5.So far, I have not tinkered with either one. And I never found the NEED to do it. Do the different versions of FSUIPC have different and updated functions? Am I missing something? Hope not.Any insight would be appreciated.Thanks.Abe
  20. Thanks everybody.I reseated the ram. Ran MEMTEST and OCCT. Everything was give a clean bill of health. My system is NOT overclocked. Was able to run OK on an XP 64 which shows the whole 6gigs of ram. Windows7 64bit and XP-SP2 32-bit still the same . UNSTABLE after 20 minutes or so. It looks I do have an out, a solution, XP64. But still I would you like to know more about a possible solution. As always, I am open for any suggestion and a possible cure. Thanks again.Abe
  21. Does this also happen if you disable all add ons (including all enries in your dll.xml and exe.xml) and fly with a FSX default aircraftDid not try that, Ulf. And Jim, I ran CPU-Z, and as far as I know, all numbers seem to be okTYPE DDR3 CHANNELS TRIPLESIZE 6144 MBYTES NB FREQUENCY 2677.7 MHZDRAM FREQ 535.5 MHZFSB DRAM 2:8CAS# LATENCY 7CLOCKSRAS#TO CAS# DELAY 7CLOCKSRAS # PRECHARGE 7 CLOCKSCYCLE TIME 20 CLOCKSCOMMAND RATE (CR) 1T SPDSLOTS #1, #2, #32048 MBYTESPC3-8500F (533 MHZ)OCZOCZ3B1600LV2GFREQ 381MHZ 457 533 610CAS LATENCY 5 6 7 8VOLTAGE 1.5V............. 1.5VDoes this help? 22. I have the I7 975 Extreme, GTX285, 6GIGS of DDR3, Asus P6T.When I run FSX for the first 20 minutes or so, it's almost like HEAVEN. Nice, smooth, great frames, very enjoyable, trouble free. Then all heck breaks loose.I monitored my memory, it shows that I have 4gigs not 6 gigs. It starts off with a usage of about 2 gigs, it inches up gradually to 3gigs and beyond. When it approaches 4 gigs, slightly short off, FSX becomes practically unflyable. Not a crash to the desktop, but jerkiness and stopping. I tried it with the Enhancer 2.5.3 beta. Then I turned off the enhancer, the result was practically the same. The result is the same with XP-sp2 32bit and Windows 7,64bit. I do not remember getting that with my ATI 2900XT and 4gigs of DDR2 ram.Hope somebody can come up with an explanation and a SOLUTION. Nick, Mitch and all of you out there. Help!!Thanks.Abe
