  1. Thanks for this great idea! Byebye NG that's landing at a VREF+30 and no autobrakes :D
  2. No, just Sabena pasionate since I was a little boy and saw those planes take off and land on the 25R when driving by on the Haachtsesteenweg in Melsbroek. From the time that SN had 747's and DC10's in service and still wearing that classic blue "cheatline" livery. :) Hence most of my paints are in SN colors.
  3. Bonjour Emile, Have you looked outside... quite normal on a day like this ;) Hope you find the problem. Greets.
  4. Indeed, that's why they are used. So that objects at 10km distance do not load large resolution texture but rather a very small on. It loads, seemlesly, a larger resolution as you get closer to the object. Wiki... :) "They are intended to increase rendering speed and reduce aliasing artifacts. A high-resolution mipmap image is used for high-density samples, such as for objects close to the camera. Lower-resolution images are used as the object appears farther away." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mipmap
  5. Hello, I'm in no way a scenery developper or texture guru... But since you see the texture popup when you're very close to the object, do your dds have mipmaps? They must have mipmaps. Just my first thought when I read your topic. All the best.
  6. Nice captures :) Who's A332 is this please? Does it compete with what IXEG offers us?
  7. Remarkable indeed, LR a team of a few people that can develop such a platform, compared to a multi billion $ Microsoft and it's Games Studio... Thank you Tony. Thanks Patrick!
  8. Thanks guys. Since I fly XP11 (only with IXEG 737), I cannot appreciate P3D any longer. The rendering engine of XP is just so immersive especially combined with one of the most iconic planes in the world: the Boeing 737-300! These shots have been taken with the scenery slider maxed out; including shadows on scenery. FPS wise it struggles a bit (20-25fps) on my i7 7700K with a ROG GTX1070 and GTX 1070 STRIX 8G.
  9. Appologies and thank you to the Moderator are in place... Thank you for splitting up the topic.
  10. And it just got a little better with public beta 16, released an hour or 2 ago.
  11. Shots are speaking for themselves, no explanation needed I think. Click for full resolution!
  12. I was just going to post a picture of the new clouds in XP11 that came with the latest installer cfr.: Things just are getting better and better!
  13. Hope the guys of the golden arches will not sue me for using these 3 words... :) Just freaking loving XP11. Everything is default (except for the B733 ofcourse). Weather/clouds have not only been improved, they match XP's rendering perfectly.
  14. Well there's a time and a place for everything... :) Thank you Jon.
  15. François... you know your geography! :) The price is one bar of triangular shaped chocolate with nuts. I did not know that it had different names in Italian and French. Although I can understand it from the Italians as it is their mountain as well... :)
  16. Name that famous Swiss/Italian mountain... :)
  17. Bonjour Oscar, Merci pour les infos. Great news. Your Ortho4XP is really addictive. Will give the new elevation data a try.
  18. And why not? Ortho4XP and default X-Plane 11 overlay. Just loving it. Thinking about expanding my storage from 1 to 2 or even 4 TB for Ortho stuff.
  19. In fact, X-Plane runs smoothly even if I see 19-21 fps on the counters. This IXEG classic 737 can be seen as a high demanding aircraft. No such thing as low res cockpit textures or model, it's all in high quality. Zoom level of the satelite imagery is 17. Zoom level 19 (which is the highest you can get) for 1km areas around airports. This one single tile (+50+004) consumes 64GB of HDD videocard: EVGA Geforce Gtx670 2gb cpu: INTEL Core I7 3770k 22nm 4 Cores 8 Threads 3.5 ~ 3.9ghz LEIB EBBR area
  20. Overhead Brussels, Belgium with some recognizable landmarks: - EBBR - R0 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brussels_Ring) - NATO headquarter in front engine n° 2. The new HQ is being build with the old HQ on the other site of the road leading to Brussels Airport. - The Cinquentenaire (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinquantenaire) - Avenue de Tervueren (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avenue_de_Tervueren) - Sonian Forest (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonian_Forest) - ... Scenery created with Ortho4XP and consists of satellite images and OSM data. X-Plane, no VAS issues and still stable 29fps with all this beautiful and high-res stuff passing beneath me at 300kts. :-)
  21. I was unaware that the OSM data was stored separatly from the ortho photoreal tiles. It was my understanding that OSM data was provided inside the tile folder. Thanks for the quick responses. I made a symbolic link, fired up X-Plane and now I need a new videocard... lol
