  1. Thanks all.... I'll try the "render to texture" tip first, and if no joy will get the lastest drivers....:-wave RJ
  2. I'm aware of all the problems with FX cards and no 2D panels etc, but I have a Geforce3 Ti200 card running 30.82 Nvida drivers, and every so often the 2D panel flashes on/off. As the panel is flashing, my FPS drop down to about 1fps and you can't even control the aircraft.Yeap like FX owners, AA is on, and I'm in Full screen mode. My question, do other Geforce3 Ti200 owners see this problem, or just me? Thanks in advance....RJ
  3. Yes, a PEI fix was released. Search for: peifix.zip
  4. One way to improve FPS is to stick with FS2002... :-lol
  5. Nope:Two Screen shoots, one of FS2004, and FS2002. Same airport, same time, same bat channel. If I were to add clouds to FS2004, I'd get better performance using a slide projector..Just a little disappointed with FS2004, but very happy to still have FS2002...:-wave
  6. Something else major has changed in FS2004 which just kills FPS.It would appear FS2004 is using the FS2000 engine..Anyhow, I can't use FS2004 smoothly, and will be sticking with FS2002 because of performance issues. I see no point in spending more money upgrading my system to a 3.0Ghz machine just to see a little increase in FPS, for a poorly coded game (FS2004). So many people have posted performance problems with 3.0Ghz machines, which should not be the case...Two Screen shoots, one of FS2004, and FS2002. 8. Well, after many hours of trying to get this Sim to run, I know now, it will never run like FS2002, because FS2004 simulates FS2000.I've tried everything, but FS2004 does not like 2D panels, and something at the airports (yes even the small ones) kill FPS.I've tried all the texture fixes, all the FS9.cfg tweaks, but nothing really helps. The visuals have been turned way down compared to FS2002, and yet the FPS are way down ..Conclusion: All the taxi signs are killing frame rates. This Sim is un-tweakable...
  9. Where in the FS9.cfg do you place this line "Panel As Texture =0"?Thanks in advance..
  10. How much hard drive space do you have left?I had almost the same problem...http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchI have since removed FS2004.Did some harddrive clean up, defraged my HDD, and thenreinstalled FS2004. I had over 15Gig of HDD free, and the2nd time I installed, I was error free... Not sure what theproblem was.Thinking of removing FS2004 again, just don't use it, the FPSare like FS2000....Good luck...
  11. Please post a screen shot in the screen shot forum... Thanks..
  12. Looks like I'm headed this route, as the FPS in FS2004 just don't cut it... FS2004 was fun, but I tired of trying to get it to run. I just did a flight in FS2002, and I just can't beleive the FPS I get with it... Back to tweaking and adding more goodies to FS2002...
  13. I just downloaded it ok... 3.12Mb from here:http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_controlmanager.html
  14. HornitIf you want to edit a DXT3.bmp and save the Alpha channel, use image tool that came with FS2002 Pro and do it this way.1. Open up the DXT3.bmp using image tool.2. Click on "image - format - 32bit".3. Now when you go to save the texture, do a "save as" and call it some name with the extension ".tga".For example, save file as: B737-400l.tgaNow you can edit the this file "b737-400l.tga" and the alpha channel is kept intact. When you're finished editing, use image tool and convert the image back to DXT3 format.. You're Alpha should still be there..
  15. Yes, using the image tool from FS2002 Pro CD...You can also download and install "DXTBmp" from here:http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htmWith this program, you'll get rid of the alpha channel as well...
  16. Never mind folks... I figured it out....Next panel to fix on my list....767PIC
  17. Open up the file (bmp) using image tool.Next click on "image - format - 24bit".Then save bmp file as a bmp file...That's it...
  18. Most all my add-on panels don't display the HSI or PDF, and I've been trying to figure how to get them back. I've played with the bmp masks, etc, but no joy...I've just added this line "child_3d=1" in the panel.cfg and you can see the result below...Result, the PDF gauge is displayed, behind the panel, but how do I move it down and to the right? And how do I resize it to look proper?Question, how do you move the PFD, around on the panel using "child_3d=1". 19. I currently have a 30 Gig HDD. If I partition it say 15 Gig each, and install FS2004 in the 2nd partition by itself, will this help with FPS in FS2004? Or am just wasting my time here? Also, when FS2004 is installed, all my joystick assignments in FS2002 get wiped out? How can I keep this from happening? Is it happening because when I install FS2004, it installs DX 9 and I'm currently at DX 8. If this is the case, is their a file I can backup somewhere, which contains joystick assignments? Thanks in advance... RJ
  20. Stan, what exactly are you trying to do by using this command? If the only reason you're using this command is to disable the Virtual cockpit/side views, their might be a work around.... Let me know...
  21. I'm having problems FFX's 737-200's. See Pic: http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/27684.jpg
  22. Excellent news Thomas... I have to thank you for such an outstanding add-on..Thanks for the update... :-wave
