  1. ordered also the AOG WXR Gauge weeks ago but all i get is a CTD with a error message to gdiplus.dll as soon as i try to zoom the gauge or move the whole AOG WXR window. this also happens with the latest update. it takes forever when i try to zoom in or out in the gauge until the weather is displayed. cannot say that i
  2. had the same problem with the simflyers eddf scenery. it seems to hang but it doesn
  3. bob, you wrote"The hassle that it seems you have to go through to adjust certain functions by moving from pullup screen to pullup screen is a real pain as far as I am concerned",god thanks the F1 ATR 72 has only one panel window where all knobs and switches are settled !and the PMDG-737 has the best 737 sounds onboard ever seen !?Try mastering the B200 with the same amount of hours you did for the ATR 72 and the PMDG 737 before complaining."This is one payware that I don't feel was anywhere near worth the cost, and is a couple of notches about the average freeware.",without any words, unbelievable. in my natural language i would know what i had to say about an statement like this.Ron
  4. there is a merge file available at the dreamwings site. i didn
  5. martin,i also own a Dell XPS Gen2 nearly same specs, 2.0 Ghz instead of 2.13 Ghz and with 2 GB Ram. I fear that Dell uses a very cheap soundchip for this laptop. No hardware soundprocessing is provided with this chip only software emulating. If the other tip did not work for you, try to use a pcmcia soundcard or a usb souncard. Creative Labs offers both types of those soundcards, not cheap but those modules provide full hardware soundprocessing and will take alot of workload from your cpu.for me, i set the slider in the directx diagnostic program to basic emulation and this did not realy help. I still get sound stutters especialy when atc talks. Shame on Dell for put in such a loosy soundchip (sigmatel 975x) in the XPS Gen2.Let me know your graphic settings within fs9 as you said you get smooth grahics, me not. Which graphic driver do you use? The one provided from Dell or any other from DNA or Omega?cheersRon
  6. patrick, did you tried to convert the textures of those aircrafts to DXT3-Format?If not give it a try. Use a program called DXTBMP for this job. DXT3 Textures are much smaller in size without nearly any loss of quality. Most payware aircrafts use 32bit textures. ron
  7. hi,1) Flight Environment, make selection and "Fly now", be sure you have also installed your selection of clouds etc within Flight Enviroment. There should be a button which lets you do this. FE will then copy the necessary files to your flightsim folder. Then start FS9 and load your weather program etc.hope this helps, ron
  8. larry,i cannot reproduce your example. using the rfp 747 with as2004 etc, once the textures are loaded into the cache, i can switch forward backward, vc, spotview etc, the texture are not loaded from harddisk, they stay on cache. do u have large system cache enabled? are u on nfts or fat32? do u have "ntfs last access update" enabled or disabled? did u defrag your harddisk? As i said when switching between the views the harddisk light is not flashing on my system, so there must be something wrong with your configuration, on my system the textures stay in cache.ron
  9. stan, another solution is to change the type of your sound acceleration within directx. By default it is set to full acceleration. Changing this to standard or basic acceleration will take alot of load from your cpu. I think you have an buildin soundchip on your mainboard and this chip doesn
  10. to regulary Defrag your harddisk is also a good option and be sure that your memory managment is optimized for programs and NOT for system- cache. this is done in your system managment console under WinXP. i don

  12. found the solution in the corresponding cfg file for active radar. there were the coordinates for the active radar display set higher then my screen resolution is.thanks, ron
  13. Hi all,the problem above happens to me everytime i start activeradar via ctrl+F12 and want to minimze it via with the button on the lower left corner on the mainscreen. The activeradar display then completely disappears and cannot be restored.Used build is B175.Any help would be nice. Thanks,Ron

  15. >>Okay, I contacted Dell customer support and it's their take that my system won't support UDMA-5. Best it can muster is UDMA-2. While I don't ever accept Dell as the last word in anything, all other evidence points to the same conclusion<
  16. walt, what are the specs for your harddisk. Speed and cachezize of the harddisk are also important things to keep in mind. if your harddisk is too slow than your system is always waiting for more information (like textures) from that harddisk. also take a look in the system manager if your harddisk is running in UDMA-5 mode and also try to disable the full hardware acceleration of your soundcard, try to set it back to basic acceleration, this is done either in the system manager or with dxdiag (through start -> run -> dxdiag). Full hardware acceleration of sound is also a big performance hog. Another advice regarding your audigy is to take a look in the documenation of your mainboard to check which pci slot shares the same irq line with the agp port (graphic card)or which pci slots do share any irq line and put the audigy in a slot that doesn
  17. Brian, check if yaw_damper_gain in aircraft.cfg is set to 1 . I think it must be set to 1 to control the yaw damper via ctrl+d or via the panel switches.Ron
  18. Gary, there is a program available at simmarket called Wetter 2004. It is a standalone prog that sets the world weather at your needs without the need of FSUIPC nor you need to be online to get realistic weather in FS9. You can set the weather for the whole world or just for some continents. You can set the weather to different seasons and daytimes and decide how much cloud layers you want. It isn
  19. hitake a look at simmarket.com . there is a addon called wetter 2004. i think this one fits your need. i for myself use this addon very often. you can create your weather for the whole world or just the region you want. you can set weather for any season and for any day time. it provides smooth winds and visibility transations between the local weather areas and high and low pressure areas.i own nearly any weather addon for fs2004, like as2004, fsmeteo and weathercenter, but prefer the random generated weather from wetter 2004.a demo is available.cheersron
  20. well said Mark. This is one of the reason why i jumped over to X-Plane.Happy ChristmasRon
  21. The Captain Sim 727 you can only navigate via the Vor radios, the old style. But apart from this the CS727 is well worth their money. Take a look at www.captainsim.com for more informationRon
