  1. Steve, I have a few airports where I had to add a lightfield and they are are now OK...all the lights are now visible. However, the lights (in particular the taxi lights, both the blue ones and the green ones) are very dim. Is there a way to enhance the brightness of such lights ? Thanks Regards
  2. I have tested various addon airports coming from different vendors (aerosoft, FSDT, etc...) against the same airports stock version and I can confirm that the problem exists only on the addon version of the airport. I am using Opus FSI weather engine. Not a major issue...I was just curious to understand if this is an inherent DX10 bug or is caused my set up. Thanks for your answers anyway. Regards
  3. Hi, I am not able to see wet runways when it is raining ? Is it normal or am I overlooking something ? Thanks Regards
  4. The title says it all.....is there any cloud textures package that benefits from DX10 in terms of visual and performance more than others or are they all equivalent (FEX, REX3, REX4, etc...) ? Thanks Regards
  5. Steve, I have several Aerosoft airports installed and I have seen that each relevant Configuration/Traffic Manager has a "DX10 preview (Day Only)" option. Do I have to select that option or is it overridden by the changes done by your Fixer ? Just for info, so far, without that option selected I have tested both the newest (Heathrow) and some oldest (Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam) and apparently everything is working fine apart from the missing blue lights on the taxiways edge (the green centerline lights are ok). Thanks Regards
  6. Thanks Paul..... I have been using this tool for just a week now but I love it... Regards
  7. Steve thanks a lot....reinstalling the libraries and enabling the light package fixed it...now working perfectly...and by the way with reference to another post of mine....using UT2 vs IVAO models has significantly improved the performence.... this is great tool indeed....glad I bought it....! bye
  8. Heron, how did you manage to resolve your issue ? I am using UT2 models (much better FPS impact than IVAO MTL), with Shockwave Lights Package installed, but whilst I can see lovely landing and taxi lights, I can't make the navlights/Strobes working....I just can't see them regardless how far the aircraft are from me...(by the way I don't remember if I enabled the DX10 Lights package during installation.....how can I check it via GUI now ?). Regards
  9. Steve, I have recently started using the Fixer, on a fresh FSX install, and I am overall quite happy with the results. The only major issue I have is when I fly online even the presence of a single AI plane (I fly Vatsim and use IVAO MTL aircraft) around me on the ground causes the sim to be very stuttery. Note that this is not the usual performance drop caused by AI traffic: flying online in DX9 I have performance drop at this level only when several AI aircraft are around me, not just one ...just one aircraft is not enough to cause this in DX9. Maybe a compatibility issue ? Any suggestion to start troubleshooting with ? Thanks Regards
  10. Paul, I have seen the link for the original fsx shaders is no longer working. Would you be so kind to send me a working link ? I have just started using Steve's fixer but I am having the "greyed" out water button. Thanks Regards
  11. Restored the previous Cycle and it works OK now...so I guess there is something wrong on the 1412 cycle. Regards
  12. I am having the same problem with LLBG and T7....no info displayed on the arrival page. The funny thing is that LLBG runways and STARS are reported in the ARPT RWY.dat file in the PMDG folder. I will try and restore the previous cycle and let you know it works.. Regards
  13. Working well now...! Thanks again for your support... Have a great day..!
  14. Thanks a lot...! Will try soon and report back... Have a nice evening Ciao Ezio
  15. Pero, thanks for your quick answer, but...for the moment I am at a dead end..! What happens is when I try to enter the settings for a profile, by clicking on the settings icon I have the following warning: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. But the most important thing is that none of the input settings is applied to P3D...I would assume that once I have created a profile, then I launch P3D or FSX from that profile and all settings are applied, but this does not happen in my case.....what am I doing wrong ? By the way, I am testing it on P3D, which is installed on a completely separate Drive and System than FSX.....once I have managed to run it flawlessly, then I will apply it also to FSX. Thanks for your help.... Regards Ezio
  16. Hi, forgive me if this is going to be a silly question....but...after I create a profile, when I quit the profile settings section, using "close profile settings", all changes are lost....i.e. if I open the profile again evertything has reset to default. Am I overlooking something ? Thanks
  17. Pricing apart, do we have any feedback on how it is performing ? Impact on FPS, VAS.....etc...
  18. Chris, let's put it in this way. I am really impressed with the visual of this product, and as a matter of fact I have three other areas already in the shopping cart but what is refraining me for "pushing the button" (and I would really like to do it...) is the fact that the performance hit for FSX (which is still my nr. 1 sim, even if I am starting to run P3D in a parallel system) is too much. After years of unsuccessful and frustrating tweaking, .thanks to a combination of right hardware and a few effective tweaks I have been running for the last two years a perfectly balanced, fast, stable and smooth FSX which has allowed me to really enjoy this hobby, that is just enjoying virtual flying rather than just thinking about tweaks and/or CTD, As I said I am truly amazed by the great improvement that NE brings to the night flying and I do want to make it a keeper on my rig, but I need a way to figure out how I can achieve this with a reasonable performance hit, which would not cause my sim to go back to where it was a few years ago. So any suggestion is more than welcome, and I would definitely like to have further assistance. Thanks in advance for your help Regards
  19. Chris, what do you mean with level 3 "tweaked" ? I am running an i7-2600k @4.8, a GTX680 and 8Gb DDR3, but level 3 is putting my system down to its kness...i.e. it is barely flyable, and that's a pity because the visual effect is stunning. Also level 2 when flying over large urban areas such as London or Paris make it very difficult to manage. Is there any tweak we can apply to be able to run Level 3 or even level 2 with lower fps hit ? Thanks Regards
  20. Chris, thank you for your quick answer.. Regards
  21. Chris, I have recently bought NE UK and Germany and I am very impressed with the way they have transformed the night scenery and the intention is to add also other areas where I fly frequently. I am having some FPS hit with Level 3 but Level 2 is OK and it is more than enough to enjoy a great visual. I have UTX Europe installed, with their Night Lighting disabled as I use FTXG lights (via the freeware tool than can make the FTXG lights to be used with UTX)....but I have a question: If I understand well the way NE is designed, it does not add lights to existing roads placed by other addons, but rather redraws all the roads and apply lighting to them. If I am wrong forgive me and discard my question, but if I am right, do the FTXG night lights interfere with NE, or does NE exclude FTXG lights and there is only one "lighting system" on during the night ? In other words should I deselect "Vector Lights" in the FTX panel ? Thanks Regards
  22. I have installed the 344.24 with the modded .inf. The installation was ok and I was able to access the DSR and smoothness in the Nvidia control panel. I intially set 1.2 for DSR and the default 33% for smoothness. Made a quick test and I believe I have seen an improvement in texture sharpness (placebo effect ??) but no or very little improvement on smoothness.....stutters are still there. It might still be me doing something wrong with the settings. So the basic questions: 1. Do I have also to increase the monitor resolution from the P3D settings menu (I have a 23" monitor, native 1920 x 1080) in order for the DSR to become effective ? 2. What about the Nvidia Inspector settings ? After many years of FSX I am almost brand new to P3D and quite frankly I am still unsure wether Nvidia Inspectors settings can override P3D settings or not. However I still see that I need a bit of SSGS to reduce shimmering 3. What AA and AF needs to be input into P3D settings menu ? 4. FPS locked or unlocked ? 5. Vsync ON or OFF ? Thanks
  23. Thanks... Why use Read and Write Strategy and not Read Only ? I assume data are only read from the FSX disk, there is no writing action, unless my assumption is wrong.
