  1. Arjen, looking at your settings, the fact that you see the FPS counter steadily on 30 is related to your use of the FSX internal limiter...it is not necessarily due to the 1/2 Refresh rate. Only if you set FPS inside FSX to unlimited and VSync on NI to 1/2 refresh rate, and you see that, on 60 hz monitor, FSX frames remain stable around 30 fps, it means that VSync 1/2 refresh rate is working. This is the only way to verify it is working correctly. Bear in mind that I have never set either the internal FPS limiter or NI limiter to any limit as it had an adverse effect on performance, (however other people say they have a better Sim with a frame limiter enabled.). My suggestion is I would remove all limiters (FSX and NI) and keep VSync 1/2 refresh rate in NI and see what happens. Another suggestion is to lower the refresh rate of the PMDG panels to 15....30 has always been an fps killer for me...and remember that 1/2 refresh rate is effective in keeping your Sim smooth only, and only if your Sim can run above or at least 30 FPS, otherwise it will have no effect at all....so if you have something killing the FPS in your sim you will loose the benefits of 1/2 refresh rate even if it is selected ON. By the way..I have also upgraded the OS to Win 10 and 1/2 refresh rate is still working.... The crazy beahviour of FSX.........!! I
  2. Thanks for the reply.....so.if I understand well, to put it in practical terms, if I set AM=15 in my cfg or not put anything at all, on a 4 core CPU it makes no difference....right ?
  3. Steve, I remember reading another thread (cannot find it right now) in which you said that in P3D the best AM with a 4 core processor was 15 as it "forced" P3D to use all 4 processors. Maybe my understanding was not correct. Now you say that with 4 cores it is better to leave no AM which, I believe, is no Jobscheduler section added to .cfg. Can you clarify as I suspect I may have missed or misinterpreted something somewhere ? Thanks a lot Ezio
  4. I have one question...I will be shortly going into a complete reinstall of the OS and P3D...how can import back my current presets in the new installation ? Are they linked to my account, so that when I first launch VFX Central after the reinstall they are automatically downloaded ? Thanks Ezio
  5. My experience with 3.4, just to mention one instance..... Aerosoft EGLL Stand 518...PMDG T7......Flightbeam KIAD.....FTX Global....FTX Vector (all options enabled except Tertiary road and Traffic).....FS Global 2010.....FTX EU and NA LC......AS2016 + ASCA clouds ....max texture resolution in .cfg = 2048...ASCA clouds res 1024, DXT5.......PMDG T7 external model disabled......monitor resolution 3440x1440 P3D LOD radius 5.5.....scenery complexity Extremely dense, Autogen Normal....no AI traffic (airplanes/cars...etc....).....online traffic only (VATSIM)... Flight duration 8.5 hrs.....residual VAS on flight loading 1400Mb......residual VAS at the end of the flight 850 Mb. For me P3D 3.4 is OK....stunning visuals (enhanced by PTA) ....great FPS...smooth as silk....no VAS issue...and it is not a one off case....this is consistent on all flights. There must be some game changer, settings or addon, or a combination of both that becomes a game changer for some people... Ezio
  6. Thanks..! I ended up after some trials with density factor in rayleigh to 80 and cloud fog effect to 0.8 and the results are brilliant...!! regards
  7. Thanks Keven, I must have saved the camera position inadvertently then (still on the learning curve for Chase Plane  ) Regards
  8. I have noticed the following situation: I am in a preset camera view in the virtual cockpit and I pan around the VC i.e. to move a lever or a knob, therefore changing my point of view....at this stage I decide that I want to make a change in the turbulence settings values for that preset, so I open Chase Plane using the mouse middle button, go to Cameras-turbulence and make my adjustment...then I save the changes....what I have seen is that the view point that I had when I made the turbulence adjustments is saved as new default view point for that camera (I don't know if my explanation is clear....). Would it be possible to make the default view point for each preset camera unaffected by changes/saving of other parameters such as turbulence ? Thanks
  9. Despite the adjustment on Rayleigh scattering and the visibility settings in AS2016 I am still having too much haze up to at least FL200 (with or without Reshade). I have tried to follow some indications in the troubleshooting section with no result...any further suggestion (apart from dropping AS2016... ) ? Thanks
  10. Following my installation of Chase Plane and the consequent use of VFX central, I have reinstalled Precipit FX (which I bought when it came out, but after some full OS and Sim reinstallation I had never reinstalled) and yesterday on my first flight since Precipit FX installation on FSX-SE during an approach to AMS I entered into a heavy rain area...the good thing is that the effect is much better than the default....but the bad thing is that my FPS dropped in a way that I had never seen before (even in the same area and with bad weather).... So to some extent I confirm the finding of the OP. Regards
  11. I am confused. I know that the red text in the upper right corner comes out every time a view (or zoom factor is changed) , The zoom level in the Accels turbulence tuning is set to 1 by default. If I have all my presets views with a zoom level 1 (not the Accels turbulence zoom, the preset view zoom level I mean), and I keep Accels turbulence zoom to the 1 default level, I shouldn't see any change in the zoom factor due to acceleration...should I ? Why should I put the zoom factor to 0 ? Am I missing something ? Thanks
  12. Go to P3D.cfg...find the section below: [DISPLAY] ChangeTime=4.000000 TransitionTime=4.000000 Modify in this way: [DISPLAY] ChangeTime=0.000000 TransitionTime=0.000000 No more red text in the upper right hand corner.. Regards Ezio
  13. Totally agree...Reshade ON is really a keeper...! One question: is this all compatible with FSL Spotlights ? With the upcoming relase of the A320 for P3D and with the problems that FSL Spotlights has in FSX with SweetFX or similar tools what can we expect from PTA/URP/Reshade in terms of compatibility ? Thanks
  14. hi i am having the issue described in the title: if I don't touch the mouse for a few minutes and I am in a virtual cockpit preset i.e.the captain view, the view changes spontaneously into an external view. I have experienced this on the PMDG T7, P3D V3.4....first installation of Chase Plane as V 0.1.94....no other camera software installed on the system and a preset series I created for the T7. Is it a bug or am I missing something obvious ? Thanks Ezio
  15. it 's a great job...really impressed by how it has changed the visual of P3D...truly amazing...!! :Applause: :Applause: :Applause:
  16. Here it is... The first one is upon starting PTA...the second is after applying the preset...
  17. When I apply the presets I have this warning: Applying [Turn off HDR luminance adaptation effect] to C:\Prepar3D\ShadersHLSL\PostProcess\HDR.hlsl ERROR applying tweak [Turn off HDR luminance adaptation effect] Problem with patch #0 - Patched block not found. Applying [Alternate tonemap adjustment] to C:\Prepar3D\ShadersHLSL\PostProcess\HDR.hlsl ERROR applying tweak [Alternate tonemap adjustment] Problem with patch #0 - Patched block not found. Any idea what could be the problem ?
  18. Flying online is absolutely amazing...is is amazing how close to reality it is with all procedures and phraseology....and once you have run the learning curve and you can master comunications and procedures while flying the airplane you will no longer use the Sim without it....it is a total game changer....and forget about text ...it kills the immersion...
  19. P11e great package...thanks for your work...! I have just a couple of comments which may be not related to your presets/textures but can be caused by other settings in my sim. - I find there is a general blueish color cast...how can I reduce it ? - in my opinion the haze level at high altitude is too high and the sky doesn't look so brilliant as in your screenshot but I suspect it might be caused also by ASN visibility settings....what settings have been used for the wethaer engine during the creation of the presets ? thanks Ezio
