You'll have to change your "Handle" to "Ozark TARGET":-halo 2. Save up to buy paper and Ink for the 184 page manualif you're downloading.:-eek 3. Remember always " Fighter pilots make movies, Bomber pilotsmake HISTORY.":-bat 4. If you come in 25kts hot and 100ft high with the '29 you'llovershoot a 7000ft rwy at sea lvl.:-8 5. When flying the '29 the flaps and gear actually speed up theaircraft...or so it seems.:-violin 6. In descent the '29 appears to behave like a 200,000lb "switzer"...with power...Radials you know.:-8 7. Keep in mind that the "Wright Cyclone" killed more AmericanAirmen than the Japanese ever thought about.:-fume 8. That unexplained thingie that hangs down from the tailof the B29 when the gear is lowered is a tail skid. From personalexperience it is purty sturdy, if you exagerate the flair don'tworry too much. The grinding sound and sparks are kind of neat fromchase plane view...as are the bulging eyeballs:-eek of the tailgunner. Don't worry ...he's only an enlisted man.:-roll As to the B-17; Think about this. Nearly one third of U.S. wardeaths were Airmen. Most of them over Europe. I believe there was a B-17 Wing Commander, Brig Gen ..in his20's due to the awful attrition. Sorry for the downer but it it isVETERAN'S Day here in the USA. I got ** for Christmas last year from my kids. I LOVE it andam sure you will also. It is my ONLY payware. I have the AAF B-29 Pilot Training Manual, Flight Manual andthe Wright Engine Manual. So if anyone needs any info just ask. Greetings from Denver:-wave Denny
  4. Jeremy; If you want a cure for boredom take the "Connie" to Vichy...KVIH to those of you not from MO:D Rwy 30 with about 50 percent fuel and try to clear the trees at the end of the runway.:-lol Let me know how you do.....Oh and no wind}( Denny I only drink occasionally,You name the Occasion and I'll Drink
  5. Mark; Speaking of "Medications" and health related issues. Have you been taking those fifteen minute "exercise" breaksto the fridge for a "Cold One" as you said you were going todo????? Just looking out for your health.:-beerchug Greetings from K.C.:-wave Denny
  6. Tom; I believe your post in the "Developers in bed with MS" thread has filled me with the most dismay about the future of this hobby as any I have read in a long time. You! As a mentor, and always helpfull, contributor to our shared passion..well, when YOU offer such a bleak assesment of the future of the freeware community I get a really bad feeling. Now I don't entirely agree with you, as I have followed with great intrest the Blogs of the MSFS Dev team. It appears to me that they are very engaged with all aspects ...freeware as well as payware. As a matter of fact I posted a comment on Pixlepokes blog and tdragger picked up on it as follows; "Nonetheless I was reading the comments to his post and came across one from somebody singing the praises of the Connie (Lockheed Constellation) because of the engine sounds. Right on! Incidentally we now have a full time audio director working in the group. Hmmm.." That would have been me making the praises. Now let me say that everything about the FSDZigns LO49A is just GREAT but, the sound file was... to me the finishing touch. PLEASE... don't get discouraged as your efforts as well as those of your cohorts are very much appreciated. The aircraft and airmen of the "Golden Age" of aviation should never be forgotten. And should continue to have such advocates as you, Wayne Tudor, FS Aviator, and too many more to mention here. To any of you who have not taken the opportunity to visit Tom's Site, Berlin Airlift, FSDZigns, Bluegrass Airlines and others; you should do so at your first chance as it will enhance your FS experience immeasureably. These folks can tell you more about prop driven aircraft in an evening than you could find out in five years elesewhere. As an example; In Toms forum not long ago someone made the comment that he thought the F4U Corsair had unrealistic Torgue roll tendencies on takeoff. Well a gent answered that as an ex Corsair Pilot with OVER 500 Carrier To's and Landings he found the Sim Aircraft to be a little TAME, as he put it. You just can't get that kind of feedbackelesewhere. I've been blessed to fly in a good number of the old prop aircraft, but the men who have flown them and flown in them are rapidly dwindling as evidenced by the post in Century Of Flight about the last crewmember of the "Memphis Belle" passing. I've read numerous posts where fellas said they were getting bored with FS. Well if you want a sure cure for the boredom try to fly the Connie or DC6 or other propliner "By the Book" and Tom, FS Aviator, and some of the guys who flew them "On the Line" will give youTHE BOOK. Tom and Crew..FSDZigns..Kris..Wayne..Eric..Mark...Keep at it, it's too important to let slide. Beana 51 get on over there...you'll love it. Greetings from K.C.:-wave Denny My Doctor told me I had a Drinking problem. Dam fool I've nver spilled a DROP!:-badteeth
  7. Well sorry Dogfighter; Buying payware is agin' my religion, BUT I would buy you a beer ifI ever git south of Joplin:-beerchug Denny
  8. Well Folks; For what its worth; I went to the "source" the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The figures do not include off the job deaths, nor deathson the job from heart attack ect. The fatal incidents are grouped as follows; 1. Transportation 2. Assualts-Violent acts 3. Contact with objects/equipment 4. Exposure to harmful substances/enviroments 5. Fires and explosions By industry it shows a total of 109 deaths for "Air Transport"broken down as; Airline 22 and commercial 87. In another table they further qualify it as Scheduled Passenger 5,scheduled freight 8. The remainder are charter ect. All are listedin the "Transportation" column. For Heavy and Tractor trailer drivers it looks as follows; Total769; Transportation 509, Assualt/violent act 14, object/equipmentcontact 90, falls 32, Hazardous substance 24. Greetings from Charlotte NC:-wave Denny
  9. Thomas; Just looked at new egg and the only asus board for socket A processorsthey are still handling is the A7N8X-X. N indicates Nvidia chipset. V Via chip set. Stick with Nvidia. This board supports 333/400 FSB and DDR400 Pc3200 mem. I own two of them and they will do the job for you. As to the CPUgo with one of the "Mobile" processors as you can overclock the dogcrap out of them. ie 2500 mobile. Also if I had mine to do over again I'd buy an Abit Mobo A7N-S2. Either way about 140 bucks. BTW Asus support SUCKS but the productis OK, just my opinion. PM me if you have more questions. Greetings from Orlando Fl:-wave Denny

  12. Well in my case it would have to be the next version of the Lockheed"Connie" that the guys over at FSDZigns are laboring on. I really don't see how they can top the first one, but they claimthey're gonna:-jumpy WOOHOO! Can't wait:-lol Also looking forward to the release of BEV. Greetings from Smyrna GA Y'all:-wave Denny
  13. "Bob,I don't wish to start an argument but, are you telling me that a 'SR-71 Reconnaisance Officer's' statement is wrong?" Dave; Don't know about the above, but just to give you some sort of reference..... I worked as a dispatcher at Offutt AFB, Base Ops.That would have been 1967-68; We had a '71 make an emergency landing. The plane was rushed into a hangar and surrounded by extreme security. Now when I say extreme, keep in mind that this was Strategic AirCommand Headquarters. After the problem had been fixed...the next morning I was working whenthe Pilot came in to Baseops and filed his flight plan. It read: Aircraft Type; YF12A Route; OFF-VFR Direct-BAB Altitude; FL300+ Speed; Mach 1+ After looking at it I said "Sir, I'm not sure Chicago Center willapprove this". He just smiled and said "Get ahold of Classified Routes, they'llaccept it". Well, we worked with the clasified routes section all the time...both for the"Looking Glass" aircraft and flights of the EC135's of the 55th StratRecon wing. So I contacted them and filed the plan, no problem. We went thru our shift change and after we were relieved went outto watch the takeoff, as at Offutt, Baseops didn't have a good view ofthe Runway. I have never seen anything quite like it. Just past midfield herotated, Nailed the AB, and began a near vertical climb. In what seemed just a few seconds we heard the Boom as he broke Mach 1 andthen he just dissapeared, still going straight up. I might add weather that morning was CAVU. I'm not sure when the craft became operational, but it had been around for a couple of years before the incident I just related. Also; as far I know during my time in the Air Force...1966-1970..they flew all of thier missions out of Beale AFB. Just thought Ya'll might be interested.Greetings from Smyrna GA:-wave Denny
  14. Hi guys; I dont use it, but isn't that what "slew" mode is for? DN
  15. You might also want to try lowering the Global texture setting. You will not notice any visual difference while flying with it set tomedium, and it'll sure help your performance. The only changes I have noticed are windows in buildings, and theappearance of broadleaf trees....and then only on the ground. DN
  16. "I am not sure what my processor is or the name of the mother board, sound blaster audigy sound card. That is about the most I can tell you" Hi Kevin; Given the above statement I do believe I'd leave it alone until youamass quite a bit more info, and computer savvy. Now I'm not sayingthis to be derogatory, but I believe you'd be in WAY over your head."if I start messing with the bios and locating drivers for my chipset, how much damage can I do?" Plenty!"Is any of it reversable?" Yes most of it would be, IF YOU KNOW HOW, but it depends on the Mobo and is a lot harder to accomplish than it is to screw it up to start with." I would be intersted in getting a beginners crash course in bios tweaking." The first thing you need to know is what Mobo,Processor,Chipset youhave so I'd download and install "SISoft Sandra" or similar utility. This will give you the basic info you need. Once you have that thereis an vast amount of info available. If you get ahead of yourself on this you will probably not be pleased with the results ie; A computer that won't boot, AKA an impressive paper weight. After getting all the info you may find that you have the latestBios revision ect, but just take it slow and learn enough FIRST soyou don't have to try to recover a trashed Bios. Take care and let us know how you're progressing. Greetings from Rochester NY :-wave Denny
  17. Hi All;/www.fantasyofflight.com Is this that of which you speak?:-lol If so its located in Lakeland Fl, very close to Kissimee/Orlando. Johan, I know you're a fan of the vintage aircraft so check itout. Also, in New Orleans... The D-Day Museum might be worth your time, especially after checking out "The Belle" in Memphis. 19. Hi Walouigi; Try this: Open FS to the main page. Click on "settings". On the right side of the page in the "Controls" block click on "Assignments". In the upper right side of this page should be a dialog box titled "Joy stick type"click on the down arrow at the right and it should display both the yoke and pedals. Highlight the heading for Yoke. Now scroll down the list of control assignments until you find one you wish to assign. Highlight it. Click the "change assignment" button. A dialog box will pop up telling you to activatethe switch on the controler that you wish to control the event...do so. It may then tellyou that the switch is mapped to another control, and ask you if you want to proceed..answeryes. Go thru all of the commands that you want to map, just be careful to select the rightheading in the scrolldown list IE: "Flaps extend incrementally" rather than "Flaps extendfully" or "Elevator trim down" rather than "Elevator pitch down" and so forth. Hope this is of some help. DennyGreetings from KC Mo:-wave
  20. Hi Don; Just curious; Have you downloaded the LO49 Connie by FSDZigns, located here in the Library?....Freeware. It is a true "Labor of love". They have started with it, and plan toprogress thru the whole series,so the Super G might be a while coming.Having said that however, I did notice on thier website, Kent Morrisreports that they are close to releasing the second aircraft in thierseries, and I for one can hardly wait:-jumpy Also; If you are not already, you might enjoy browsing Tom Gibson'sPropliner forum over at Simufly.com. Cheers DennyGreetings from Smyrna Ga:-wave PS: There is, I believe a Super G available as Freeware from MikeStone.

  22. 'Like comparing a Porsche to a lesser car, quality can spoil you." HMMPPHH! Methinks Clay is casting disparaging remarks at my '62"Vette" Just because it rides like a buckboard, steers like a truck, and corners like a bulldozer in no way makes it a "lesser car":P Yeah! and the same goes for my "Almost Viper" (1997 Neon):-lol Just you wait till I join you in retirement in a few months and giveme enough time to freshen up the 'ol 327, rebuild my antique RochesterFuel injection, and I'll tool down to 'ol Miss and we'll see about thislesser car stuff:-8 . But only in a straight line mind you...oh and no sudden stops either...oh and only for a quarter of a mile cause the53 chevy front end under her gets kind of squirrely over 130 Mph:-lol But nice analogy though:-beerchug DennyHowdy from KC, Mo:-wave

  25. Will; You might want to repost this in the hardware forum as it will likelyget moved anyhow.
