  1. Thanks Dillon,If we find it I hope it's as I remember in the deep recesses of my cortex, or whatever that stuff is...
  2. Hi Jeff, Are you asking me about the FS98 panel I 'think' i remember? Humm.. i wouldn't know where to find it...maybe it was or wasn't as nice as i remember but i would fly the 340 all the time,...
  3. Perhaps it is humorous. I respect everyone's opinions here. And I think I have a pretty active sense of humor--But watching the video now-- this particular day at this hour.. I could not finish it.. I was too horrified at the events behind the film.. Ganz's acting is TOO REAL...too good... I could feel the fear of the people around him..And I was horrified at being reminded of what can happen when a psychopathic personality (or personalities) steals the minds of intellectually lazy, or freightened people. Fascism is almost too destructive too use for humor...Someone else mentioned yousing Dubya....the idiot that some village in Texas lost, to paraphrase a popular umper sticker. As Jaap said above--"Lets hope warmongers become a rare species and that the people are educated enough to not fall for simplistic propaganda too often again."And I would add not to fall for psychopathic fascists again...This is what really hit me watching the clip. the real horror...because this is exactly what is happening right now.
  4. Also a thanks to Krister for taking the time to make and post the video.Well, one thing important, to me anyway, is the look of the panel as well as the function.. looking at the panel in the video and on the FFS website...I was a little disappointed. Does anyone remember a SAAB 340 in FS98? It's been a while, I know, but ever since I got FS9 a couple years ago I've been waiting for a SAAB with a panel that good. or at least one that looked somewhat real... Now just maybe I only THINK I remember the way it looked. .:-) but.. regardless of my memory..somehow this one just doesn't look to me like it is really 'there.' I've seen better looking freeware...or lets say.. freeware panels that 'I' liked better..For $39 or whatever... I'm not ready to jump.. yet..Thoughts?
  5. Hear Hear! A rousing second cheer for David Maltby.. BAC-111, Trident, all of them.. fantastic...
  6. A couple days ago I saw a new repaint for the Carenado 206 called something like 'Crazy Joe. Now I can't seem to find it. And leads? I think there was also one for the 185..Thanks...
  7. Really interesting reading both your comments about the real aircraft. Tells me a lot about the Carenado.. And Travis, your experience with 85 mph, 30 degrees and no power is just about the sight picture I had been having on approach. THE GROUND! I'm surprised they missed the 30 degree flap thing...I'll keep 'approaching'.. Thanks...
  8. Travis, Ah ha,,, So it wasn't totally my terrible flying technique.. :>)Glad to hear it wasn't all me.Wonder if there is a way to adjust it in the aircraft.cfg file? Although I've never messed with them. Thanks for clearing it up.best,
  9. Hey Travis,Ah HA!!It worked. What in the world was I doing before? Weird...(I do trim--all the time)This time, following your speeds/flap settings, it was pretty smooth. 500-600 fpm looked about right..to me anyway.. does take practice, of course, but I could see it was working...However, I got a little high on short final, the pitch up from adding full flaps caught me---had to cheat a little. At that point, going back down to 500-600 fpm descent looked too steep again... maybe not 45 degres, maybe 30-35. :>)very strange.. the VSI was reading the same as a few miles back during the smooth approach... but the nose was way down... still much better...So--- I can see where I need to work at it.. Many thanks..You saved the 206. :>)
  10. I have a 'problem' with the Carenado 206 which I bought over a year ago. When descending, the pitch down is just way too exaggerated..for example--at about 500fpm the angle of the plane looks like about 45+ degrees nose down in spot view. The view out the windshield in 2d or VC for instance, is the same, what seems to me to be very exaggerated. Makes it basically impossible to land. I've tried every possible adjustment to speed, flaps, etc... nothing works, so far.I asked about this several months ago and at that time the best advice I received was to adjust the cockpit view. That certainly makes it possible to 'see' the runway, but there's gotta be something wrong here. I have about 25 aircraft, give or take payware, freeware,... singles, twins, turbos, vintage airliners, RJ,... The only other aircraft I have where this is a little bit of an issue is Mikko's Maule.I'm about ready to give up on this otherwise great plane...I would post a screnshot but haven't figured out how to do that yet...Since I have never seen anyone else mention this situation...?? I wonder if it my install? I tried once re-installing... same thing..Other than that I really like flying the 206... but as someone said--- "You don't have to take off, but you DO have to land." :-) Thank you for any suggestions....
  11. Nani/ Wakarimasen. Mo ichido itte kudasai.domo..
  12. just posting so I can unsubscribe to this topic.. and couldn't figure out how else to do it.. as GREAT as it is I get too many emails each day. ):-)
  13. I agree. I think it looks too---synthetic..not genuine... like...digitized, idealized, plastic components all stacked up.....I think it's TOO perfect..
  14. Thanks Jason, I've had the B200 for quite a while. It's great.just liked the look and feel of the 120- but -- no panel yet.. just the default king air :>(
  15. I agree about Shez' airports-- I also found a really nice Istanbul airport scenery- LTBA Ataturk-- I've looked in the 'read-me' to see where i got it but of course it's in turkish :-)here's some info--Biber 14 Ekim 2005Istanbul biber@Ltba.netwww.sanalpilot.comwait-- here it is. http://www.sanalpilot.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3650Plus, all those turkish guys have great mustaches :-)
  16. ang good ideas for a panel? I've checked AVSIM..
  17. No landings from the west? I used to live near LA. Flew out of LAX a gazillion times. Still fly there 3-4 times a year...driven past a gazillion and 29 times,. Every single TO and landing I've experienced has been to the west...I've never seen a landing from the west. At night I've counted 12, 14, 16 planes approaching from the east... the double 'conga line.' Am I missing someting? :>)
  18. Would you guys recommend this scenery over that by Charles Kleissler?
  19. Another Maule problem--hope it's ok to post here-- when descending the pitch seems way too much, whether in spot view or either cockpit view. A 500 fpm descent, for example, looks like the plane is on a dive bombing run-very steep. The only other plane that I have with this situation is the Caranado 182. When I posyed this question about the 182 a couple months ago, the reply I received was to adjust the cockpit view. Well, that doesn't change the pitch, obviously. There is something not right, in both cases..Thanks for any suggestions..
  20. Thanks Chase, I think it was just a momentary 'blip' in the universe.">) I do use Firefox and have had no trouble since then..never do...I just posted here because I think someone else had mentioned it Have a good weekend,
  21. Also can not download anything now.. The "download" window opens and just says 'done' at the bottom but there is no download. Any ideas out there?BIll
  22. Thanks Jens,Kinda wondering what was up..I was just over at flightsim. I'll go back.Bill
  23. I downloaded a couple of the SGA Dc-9s and would like to get another version or 2 as well as perhaps other aircraft MD80s etc....But, can't find their website. Is there one? I've found a few in the library but ..I know I got them somewhere. I just flew one! :>)ThanksBill
  24. I just had the same problem with the SGA DC-9. I realized I had hit the 'cap lock' by mistake.Perhaps check that..
