I don't see KSAN on the Latin VFR website. Am I just missing it?

Hi WingZ, Got it, Seems this aircraft has the same "problem", or maybe just the FS design, whereby it is not possible to get the VC lights to cone on at 'dusk'. It has to be really dark. BTW, I was in NZ many, years ago-- about 1989 and just loved it ! Spent most time in the south- Christchurch, then to the glaciers, lakes.. gorgeous country and great folks.

Here is my original email to Carenado-- "I just purchased the Skymasterfor 2004. The click spots for the course and heading settings in the DG the heading indicator and OBS do not work.Also can not change the Com and Nav frequencies. ( Changing the alpha/numeric airport codes in the DIRECT TO in the GARMIN is also very difficult, although I have found this to be a problem on some other Carenado aircraft as well. that is not as important right now. Also the mode selector switch for the AP is almost unreadable, but that is also not an immediate problem.) For the heading, course and radio freq settings-- I tried following the suggestions in another post to set "Water Display reflections" to ZERO but that did not correct the problem. All my other Carenado aircraft work fine. Can you help? Thanks, BIll " And here is the reply-- "Have you tried using the mouse wheel /keyboard to input the airport ICAO?" The mouse wheel does work. but still haven't found the back lighting. Their other aircraft I just find much easier for all these issues, well most, sort of...and I do like them.. @ WingZ.. What's weird is that on one of my first flights the back lighting worked. Also weird that Carenado wouldn't have caught it. Anyway, nice aircraft and am enjoying it...

How does one get the instrument back lighting on? Flood light I can get and once did get the back lighting..but now.. can't seem to do it??

Where is MS Paint on Win 7?

I think I had this file on my older XP computer. But now looking to install it on my new WIN/7 I don't find it at AVSIM or FLIGHTSIM either? Any hints?As I remember it worked pretty well, at ;east for flyable aircraft..Bill

I had a similar problem with REP. I never could solve it, even with lots of very generous help here over several weeks...I finally just gave up and just delt with it...Now that I have a new power packed computer, I don't worry about i as I did not install REP. :>)That's no to say anything good or bad about REP. That was just my experience..Wish I knew how to advise but...

Joe,I don't know. I have done everything you say, several times.. I have saved the flightsim.flt in notepad with 40% in all tanks.I have made the 'red Cessna 172" at SEA the DEFAULT flight. Exited FS9, loaded FS9 again. default flight shows up, BUT witht the old 30% fuel tanks..??Bill

Andy,I tried Joe's "PAN RATE" fix and it works. I can now pan really fast..Joe,I tried your fix for the fuel tanks.,, I changed the [FUEL] section in FLTSIM.FLT (I used 40% for clarity) . At the moment there is no change.. 2-fuel tank aircraft still load at the previous 30% (from when I changed the fuel in the already loaded DEFAULT flight)...and aircraft with more than 2 tanks still load with 2@ 30% and the rest at 100%The reason I am trying to do this is that I rarely take long flights.Bill

Joe, Correct that... any 2 fuel tank aircraft DO now load at 30%.. Just the 4 3-4 fuel tank load at 30% and 100%.Of course I guess I could make a plane with 4 fuel tanks the default flight. :>))Thanks againBill

Hi Joe,I saved a flight-- Default Cessna. This now works IF I load the default flight first, then switch aircraft. But I MUST to load the default saved flight. OK.. Of course if I then load a 4-engine aircraft, 2 fuel tanks are 30% and the other 2 are 100%.I seem to remember that in the past there was a way to- 1- not have to actually load the default flight... AND 4 engine aircraft would have all 4 engines at 30%.Bill

Hi Joe,Thank you for the info. I have the faster pan rate working.However, if I set the default flight fuel to 30% and then exit the flight and begin another flight, the fuel is back to 100%. Any ideas?Bill

I know there is a line in the FS9 .cfg file where one can set the default fuel load to something other than 100%. And another line to speed up the 'PAN RATE" in the VC. Can someone tell me what the lines are. I did this once years ago before I upgraded to WIN 7... but can't seem to find the places now.Thanks..Bill

Well guys I blew this..My dumb bad, I should have said- DTW. We were sitting in the aircraft in KIND in a CRJ waiting to take off and the pilot came on and said that Detroit was down to 2 runways.

Does anyone know why KDET was down to 2 runways last night? I was flying there from KIND and there was about a 30 minute delay on the ground before we were cleared to TO? Just curious..

Hi Dillon,Opps, too late. Before you posted on Oct 27, I already moved FS9 to C;"'D:W7 FS9'".. Then I also installed Genesis, UT, GE PRO, etc... Also, in my old installation in XP, there were some issues with REP that caused some visual problems that I was never able to correct.. even with lots of help from folks in the AVSIM Forum ... SO I just got used to flying with those few weird things.. That's one reason I didn't want to just transfer everything from the old OS to my new computer. That and.. just too much old stuff so I though I would start fresh to a great degree,,,Again, thank you for your help...Bill
