G1000 & Flight1 Mustang in P3Dv3
Very interesting indeed. My Mustang cockpit HW will come in short time. Mindstar will be used. Now the way to P3D is open - if F1 solves the compatibility with Mindstar G1000. Now in a waiting state. Thanks for looking into this. Peter

G1000 and CustomSims HW
Hi Andreas, no experience at the moment. My CustomSims will be the Cessna Mustang (F1) implementation with the option to switch the interface for the A2A C172. Both will be used with the Mindstar G1000. I know Mindstar will work with the HW and with Mindstar/Mustang combination. I was just looking for somebody who is running such a combination. My plan is to build later also the cockpit shell. Most measurements I got from Blink in UK (One of the biggest Mustang operator). Together with a curved screen it will be marvelous. My priority is to get asap flying, because my B767 sim is disassemblied already and retired. So no flying (at the moment). What did you order from Lee? Peter

G1000 and CustomSims HW
Hello, I'm looking for your experience with the Mindstar G1000 SW in combination with the G1000 HW from CustomSims. I will use it in my cockpit for a C172 (A2A). A next step could be the F1 Mustang and G1000. My cockpit will be sort of generic for both planes (C172 and F1 Mustang). Does anybody see drawbacks? Thanks a lot for your help! Peter

Memory JEDEC spec - how to understand that?
Al,thanks!according to NickN's list my DDR2-1066 memory with 5-5-5-15 is ok. I could not get lower latencyWhat is the more important spec the 1066 vs 800, or is the latency more important (5-5-5-15 vs 4-4-4-12).I could also get a DDR2-800 kit with 4-4-4-12.Also, how does FSB frequency and timings for memory correlate? This I did not understand yetThanksPeter

What hardware for WideFS config
Hi Graham, for aditional views you should use WideView (Payware). WideFS is only to "extend" FSUIPC over network. As far as I know, the other PCs have to run FS too but the needed performance is not that high. I stopped my experiments some years ago, so no up to date experience.Another solution might be MaxiVista. This requires only "old" PCs with no special GX card. The hard of MaxiVista is a special driver where parts of the screen are distributed over the network to the before mentioned "old" PCs.Have a look at: MaxiVistaPeter

Got a E8500 as present - and now?
Hi Jim,re 1) Room:My configurator did not complain with this combination of GTX260 and the Rebel9 Value case which is 486mm deep. So I hope no complications with GX card. But I had problems with the cooler. I wanted a Thermalright Ultra Extreme (neumanix recomended it), but the configurator did not accept - to high, also the Zalman 9700 you recommended . So I was looking for a not so tall cooler and found the Zalman CNPS8700 which is accepted by the configurator for this case. the 8700 is smaller 3300 cm

Got a E8500 as present - and now?
Sorry for late reply, my DSL provider had some problems for 3 days. Can you imagine FS-PC is dead and no Intenet :( I took time to work on my throttle...Thanks to all for their input. I will adjust my buying list accordingly. Though some more questions:1) Is the 9800GT in balance with E8500 and 4 Gig, or should I invest in a GTX260 or higher?2) Do you have experience also with XP prof 64? Or should I shoot for Vista64 or even not 64bit, but 32bit OS?3) I found NickN's guide for XP/Windows setup and optimization in Simviation Forum. Is there an other guide for XP 64bit or Vista64?A question to GSalden: what is FS-GG?Thanks again for help. On Monday I will order the parts for the new rig.Peter

How to layout disks for FS9 and FSX system
Hello to all the experts!I was reading this forum now for several days. A lot of expertise and advice but finally I still have some questions. What I have:My current system is 5 years old and not worth to discuss - it will be replacedFS9 is installed with LVLD767 and some add-on sceneries. When FSX came to the market I bought it immediately, but never installed because of my crappy HW - high time to start with. OS is XP-Professional.What I aim for:A system for primarily FS9 use and step by step (slowly) transition to FSX. I am using 2 monitor (2D view) and a second laptop (WideFS) for com, ASv6 and my homecockpit SW (SIOC).I learned quite a lot from this forum about new systems but did not finaly make up my mind. Overclocking is not my favorite. My questions:- How many HDD should I install? 1000GB for OS and 1 HD for FS9/FSX with 2 partitions? or???- I tend to stay with XP as OS, don't like Vista and have no idea about Win7. Thanks in advance, more questions will arise later Peter
