The Tinmouse appreciation society (apprentices division...
PittsS2B replied to a topic in The TinMouse Support Forum
Many thanks to all the developers of the Tinmouse II for their hard work and patience! I had the chance to sit in the cockpit of a -200 ADV at a museum last week, and it was great to see how close the sim is to the real thing. I had to grin to myself when one of the museum volunteers told me how surprised some visitors were that the real airplane was much more complex than the default version in Microsoft Flight Simulator, since I knew of a simulated version that was a dead ringer for the museum's airplane! :DJohn G. -
Looks terrific - can't wait for the release! John G.

TinMouse II Patch 3 Bug Reports Thread
PittsS2B replied to Bob Scott's topic in The TinMouse Support Forum
Yep, that did the trick. Thanks, Bob.After Patch 3 is installed, I've got what sounds like a stick-shaker sound playing continously in the cockpit, even after a complete reinstall of the aircraft. Is there a way to modify this sound?EDIT: Please disregard my last - the sound is related to the 400 hz file, which I renamed for the time being. John G. -
TinMouse II Patch 3 Bug Reports Thread
PittsS2B replied to Bob Scott's topic in The TinMouse Support Forum
I've been able to use the TMII with Patch 2 since it's release, and I have the free version of FSUIPC, but when I ran the Patch 3 executable tonight, it gave me an error message to the effect that "B732adv.gau" was an "unknown version", and would not continue installing the patch.I was running the patch .exe file from the fsfsconv/panel.b732ADV folder as instructed in the readme. Did I miss something? Thanks.John Gilding -
Thanks for the tips from me as well, Volonteer. I finally got the INS to align properly and drive the autopilot tonight using your steps, and once I figured out that the green "NAV" button below the VSI is the key to getting the INS and the AP to talk to each other. Thanks again also to the TMII team for this package - it's a blast!John Gilding

Email sent, Bob. Thanks for the help!

One problem I'm having with it - I know the docs say that a freeware registration key for FSUIPC is included in the panel, but I keep getting an error message that the program is not accredited. The FSUIPC log says that "B732ADV.gau" has an invalid registration. I'm running version 3.65 (unregistered) of FSUIPC. Anybody know where I've gone wrong?John Gilding

I've been following this one on the panel design forum - fantastic! Grateful thanks to Bob, Emilio, and all others involved from us "old iron" enthusiasts. Now to download.John Gilding

Your top 5 favourite freeware downloads

If I had to pick five, they would be:- David Maltby's BAC 1-11- iFly's 747-400- Milton Shupe's Twin Beech- Milton Shupe's Spartan- Thomas Nilsson's SAAB DrakenThose are the ones that I seem to spend most of my time flying.Honorable mention to RealAir's 172 as well. -
Looking great! I installed a bunch of Calgary scenery upgrades from the Avsim library yesterday, and this will be the icing on the cake when it's done.

Nice work! My hometown airport! I'll definitely be buying this one. Is there any other addon scenery for the Calgary area? The stock FS9 presentation is a little lacking.

PMDG737NG or LDS767 for shorter flights
PittsS2B replied to schmeeling's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Heck, United used to fly 737's from Denver (Stapleton) to Colorado Springs (COS), which was about a 20 minute flight. It was one of these that suffered the infamous uncommanded rudder roll and subsequent accident. I'm sure that they use CRJ's today, of course...I was on Delta's 767 flight from LGA to Atlanta last Sunday (first time on a 767), and it they filled the plane up, so I see why they use 'em on that route. Did feel like the flight ended too soon for such a huge plane, though.... :D -
Yes, the flicker patch did the trick. Also started FS9 in the default flight, and then selected the A320, as was suggested elsewhere in the forum. No more control problems or mouse flicker. Thanks, all! :)

I reinstalled my A-320 tonight, and have the same problem - almost no control in the pitch and bank axes in the 2-D cockpit, just an intermittent spiking deflection. However, the controls work fine in 3-D pit and external views. I also noticed that the mouse cursor is flashing when over a clickable button. I'm using CH gear and the latest CH drivers (3.6). I tried adding the latest version of FSUIPC to no avail.

Tinmouse awsome freeware 737-200 update 31JAN05
PittsS2B replied to a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Well, the 3D model is great, but I keep getting an error message when I try to select the plane with the new panel - something to the effect that it can't load the B732.gau file. I've installed everything according to the instructions on the Tinmouse site, and even tried one of the earlier versions, but no joy. Any suggestions? -
Used properly, MSFS is a great proficiency tool, especially for instrument flying. I've made believers out of two skeptical CFII's when I showed up for my periodic instrument comp checks with nothing but hours of recent practice in FS flying the actual approaches. Of course, you can reinforce bad habits in the sim just as easily as good ones, so some study and discipline are important, and as a rated instrument pilot, I'm working from a foundation of good habits taught by actual dual instruction. 900+ hours in Cessna's, Pitts, Citabria, Harvard.....
