  1. I am in as well! I much prefer FS9 for smoothness of animation - I have both installed but always use FS9...Robert C
  2. ..."They'll take you wherever you want to go."... What a beautiful way to express the pleasure of simulation. Before almost every trip I take in real life, I usually fire up my 747 and fly around from one airport to another in the country I am about to visit and when I actually get there in real life, I am always amazed on approach that I recognize all the details (terrain, runways, surrounding rivers, etc..)... With my nose flat against the window looking out, I usually say to my girlfriend:"...look, it's a good as Flight Simulator...".Robert
  3. Chirs, I suggest that the best way to do this is via FSUIPC and the mouse macro function - I use 4 Single Pole Single Throw center OFF switches for this purpose - When I pull down on the switch I control the fuel cut-off (toggling from Off to ON) and when I pull up on the levers, I get the engine start function. Once programmed, neither the console nor the overhead panel need to be visible in order for the switches to function - It works well and it is extremely convenient.Robert
  4. Yes, it is possible if you use the licensed version of FSUIPC - Just use the Macro function and make a macro based on the button for Engine Number 1 - Then you can edit the macro file to add the other 3 fuel cutoff buttons - I have done it using 4 toggle ON OFF ON switches - With the same switch, I can start each engine separately as well as cut-off the fuel to shut down the engine.Robert
  5. Hi Michael,Once you install the liveries, make sure you scroll down all the way to Mc-Donald Douglas -PMDG - to select your liveries - as well, make sure you are selecting the correct engine (PW, GE, Etc..) to see the full list of liveries - I had the same reaction when I first installed them...Robert
  6. Thank you for this superb addition and congratulation to the entire team!!!Robert"If you don't succeed at first, fly, fly and fly again..."
  7. Hi Lev,Got it working using WinRar - Neat little application - thanks.Robert
  8. Hi everyone!I recently had to re-install everything from scratch using a new hard drive (FS9, FSX, all of the PMDG products) and got the same Airac database slow loading problem that was reported here a while ago...I am using an ATI Radeon X1650 cards on a 1920/1200 24" display. The problem was intermittent - sometimes it would appear and sometimes not...Since I always fly in full screen mode, I found out that if I quit FS9 while in that mode (i.e. using Alt and then Exit), when I restart FS9, the loading of AIRAC is very very slow - On the other hand, if I revert to Windows Mode after flying and then quit while in that mode, the next loading is extremely fast... Perhaps those who have lived with the problem may want to try this and see if it works for them!In fact, if you look into the FS9.CFG file, under[GRAPHICS], if FULL_SCREEN=0 the loading will be quick, if FULL_SCREEN=1, then it will be slow!...Robert
  9. Hi,I am getting a File Corrupt message when I try to unzip this file - could you check it again, thanksRobert
  10. Bonjour "Moon of New Caledonia" --- Vous devez entrer votre vrai nom selon les politiques de ce forum... Ceci dit,
  11. Interesting videos! I was just wondering if the PMDG model will allow us to turn down the music... there must be a button somwhere on that panel...Great find anyway - thanksRobert
  12. What speed are you setting your MCP to when coming in for landing?I found out that I have to use consistently 10 knots over the Vref suggested by the FMC for a particular flaps setting...Works well for me!Robert
  13. Ken,Have you try uninstalling and reinstalling your pmdg software - perhaps your default sub-directories have changed? There is a special PMDG uninstall utility available to do this. Are you using a very standard FS9 install? From what i can see, the FMC obviously does not find the proper sidstar directory - I tried to look for any ini file but can't find any that would indicate where the sidstars are...Robert
  14. Ken,did you download and install the most current airac database (airac 0506) and if so, does it show on the FMC first page?Robert
