  1. Been happy with Webroot Secureanywhere Antivirus for PC Gamers as the real-time antivirus protection (very lightweight and uninstrusive while gaming) and also use free Malewarebytes as an occassional secondary scanner.
  2. When installing OD textures over the original FSX textures, the cloud files remained 2006 fsx version. After uninstalling and then reinstalling REX2 from scratch and reloading the textures to FSX, the new files dated 2008 appear in the texture folder. Not sure what the issue is, but since original REX2 works fine, sticking with that.
  3. Installed OD but the textures would not install (even though it went through the 5-6 minute loading process) and the weather generator was not working. Uninstalled and went back to Rex2 and everything works fine. Windows 7 64-bit here.
  4. Thanks Bryan for the suggestion. I unistalled and reinstalled it with the Service Update 2, and for some reason that file "Kbos.wav" is still missing. But renaming the bos.wav file to kbos.wav seems to solve the problem for now and prevents the error.
  5. Hi,When using the Level-D 767 FS2Crew (FSX) to depart from Boston Logon (KBOS), I received an error "Creation Failed- Check if sound file is available" and the file it is looking for is sound\fs2crew\767\toreview\kbos.wav. This occurred when getting ready to taxi and hitting the green button. When I checked the specified folder I see a file called "bos.wav" but not "kbos.wav". I will try renaming the file, but I was wondering if this is a bug or not? I am on Windows 7 64-bit.Thanks,Craig

Try resetting the sound by hitting Q to turn the sound off and then Q again. That works for me with some add-on aircraft sound glitches.
  7. I use My Traffic 5.2b Professional and am very happy with it. Good performance, the dx10 models look good (and it also allows you to choose a higher or lower resolution setting depending on your hardware.) Helpful support forum also.
  8. Also, if you initially upgrade from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit, with the intention of going to Window 7 64 bit within a few days, make sure you don't activate your serial key during the Windows 7 32 bit installation as the license key is only good for one or the other (even though both upgrade versions are in the box). MS tech support informed me of this after I was having some issues upgrading the other day.Craig
  9. Microsoft now offers an good free anitvirus program called Microsoft Security Essentials. (Just google and can find easily on the Microsoft website). I installed yesterday after upgrading to Windows 7 and it's working great. I read some reviews saying that it did a great job of stopping viruses and is about on par with many of the antivirus programs offered by other companies. Even if you don't surf the web much, can't hurt to have it.Craig
  10. As mentioned above, it depends on what you plan on installing. Several FSX add-ons have issues with Acceleration installed- a few that come to mind are the LevelD767 and several of Imaginesim add-on airports. They work fine with just SP2 but not with Acceleration.Craig
  11. I switched to DX10 mode and was finally able to complete a flight in the PMDG MD-11 from Las Vegas to Honolulu which I could not complete before due to disappearing aircraft textures. Unfortunately, DX10 mode has it's own drawbacks (flashing taxi textures, some incompatiblities with FSDreamteams KLAS) but at least the aircraft textures did not disappear. Give it a try, maybe it will be compatabile with whatever add-ons you have.
  12. I have had a similar issue with disappearing graphics on longer flights (over 2-3 hours), I noticed both of you listed you have GTX285 cards which is what I have as well. I wonder if it's something to do with Nvidia's more recent [email protected], 4GB, GTX285 1MB with 191.07 drivers, Vista 32

I contacted Imaginesim in early June about this and received a response stating they have no plans for any separate Acceleration patches since SP2 and Acceleration have identical engines. This is not true since I had a similar issue with another scenery (Malta Scenery Design's Malta International Airport) and the developers quickly released an Acceleration update that resolved the frame rate issues. Maybe Imaginesim needs to contact them to find out what the difference is so they can resolve it....
  14. Dave, yes, those are the default strobes for the FSX PMDG MD-11. I guess I hardly notice them being too big/bright since I'm used to them.Craig
  15. I have the TSS MD-11 sounds installed and like them alot but think the default PMDG sounds are great also. I'm not qualified to judge them from a realism standpoint as I haven't been in an actual MD-11. (In watching videos, I have to say the internal sounds come close to sounding like what a passenger would hear sitting close to the engines).I put a brief clip on youtube for anyone considering them.
