TSS MD-11 Sounds

Featured Replies

Hey guys, anybody using the TSS MD-11 sounds (GE or PW) if so how do you like them? Thanks,James Lunsford

I have them, however I only wanted them for the external reverse thrust sound as I feel the that the PMDG is missing this sound or something (there's no loud rumble ). Overall, the external sounds are good but the PMDG internal sound is way more realistic.Dave S

James,I've listened to a demo video and from that alone I know that the internal sounds are nowhere near the real aircraft. So if you own the PMDG MD-11 already the TSS-Sounds are not worth their money.Regards,Markus

Well, ive never flown in a real MD11 before, and im a guy that loves to tweak sounds, i own the TSS sound package for the 767 and just use the engine sounds alone but i must admit, i havent touched any of the MD11 sounds AT ALL....well done guys

I have the TSS MD-11 sounds installed and like them alot but think the default PMDG sounds are great also. I'm not qualified to judge them from a realism standpoint as I haven't been in an actual MD-11. (In watching videos, I have to say the internal sounds come close to sounding like what a passenger would hear sitting close to the engines).I put a brief clip on youtube for anyone considering them.

Craig, are those the default strobe lights on your MD-11?... I have the FS9 version and mine barley light up and don't flash they way those doThanks, Dave

It's the FSX version and FSX strobes are far brighter/bigger than the FS9 versions, some would say the FSX strobes are too big and I agree, in the daytime they are, at night they look ok.

Cheers, Andy.

Dave, yes, those are the default strobes for the FSX PMDG MD-11. I guess I hardly notice them being too big/bright since I'm used to them.Craig

This is an issue again and again. The user wants sounds similar to what they have heard when in an aircraft. However, as passengers, we get to hear things louder than can be heard on the flightdeck... The APU is often totally inaudible in the cockpit, even on short/medium haulers... unless you have the windows open... engine sounds are often more vibrations through the airframe than sounds, particularly in the larger jets.I think the PMDG sound files reflect this general situation well... I see no need to change to TSS' sound set... But it is good that there is an alternative for those that wish otherwise, albeit less realistic (unless of course you simulate you flights from Seat 12A or something...):)Andrew
