Boeing>holds a copyright over their airplanes' performance data and>they've instructed us not to release it or facilitate its>release. We've asked them multiple times and they don't want>it released. Anything you're finding free on the internet is>there illegally and against Boeing's terms with their airliner>partners.Ryan, this opens the question why PMDG is publishing a product which is NOT complete... Take-off performance data is ESSENTIAL for a flight simulation product! My take-off yesterday from EDDT was heavy overloaded and the FMS did not stop me... it calculated the V-speeds as usual ( btw: V1 at 171 kts - which would take me in case of abortion way into the landscape...)The mentioned pages with the "takeoff field length requirements" are on an official "boeing.com" site... therefore it should not be illegal. ( Accdg. to these charts any T/O on a runway with more than 3200m/10500ft should be safe - sea level and standart day - and at MAXTOW )Except for this "bug" its a fine product...Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

  3. Thanks for this link...I was about 12 tons overweight on my T/O this morning.Still I don't understand why at least these charts will not be published by PMDG - these pages are free in the internet - they are not the best, but you can at least estimate some weights.Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  4. I know a real world MD11 pilot - but even he gives the data to me, I will be not allowed to publish it here...Thanks for all the explanation... I never heard this word...Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  5. Hi Dan,politics...Not only the history, but after opening of the new airport the capacity of available runways will be reduced from 5 to only two with a limit of 360.000 movements per year, which is much too few. Berlin is at the moment worldwide the ONLY city where the passengers figures are rising - slower than before but still rising...Back to the data: it is completely not to understand why these data are TOP SECRET - without these data it is only possible to take-off safely on runways 12000ft+ ...EDIT: What is "scuttlebutt"?Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  6. Hi,once again I ran through the 200+ pages performance...I found 50+ pages on landing distance - in all variations of runway condition... I know that the MD11 is critical on landings and much faster than the 747.Take-off performance seems to be TOP SECRET, what I don't understand. Not even some information about necessary runway length is available - today I planned a flight from Berlin to SFO, but I could not find ANY information about take-off distance and how much weight I can carry out of 9900ft runway - I finally did a take-off with 282 tons, but this was everything but safe!I really don't know what NDA (or so ) means - MD11 is no longer on sale! Even for the still alive 747-400 all the information is available!I must say, that the PMDG MD11 is not flyable ( safe and within limitations ) without this data!Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  7. Carl,in Europe you have only one type-rating active - after a certain time, I beleive, after more than a year after changing the type, you can refresh your previous type-rating by a shorter grd course and fewer sim sessions - but in the license you have only ONE!! You refer most probably to FAA regulations.BTW: I forgot in my original posting : Why am I flt simming ? Answers: FLIGHTPLANNING - FLYING/CHECKING - NEW FLIGHTPLAN and so on . . .??? signature ??? Bigger is not allowed . . .Michael, thats exactly what I did.inserted FL 300/320/340 and 360 and filled in the winds - but this does not reflect the readings at the waypoints. In my flt plan it called for 52N20W at FL 320 280/40 and for 50N30W and for 48N40W 310/110 and I found no way to insert these figures. The active FLT pln showed for the whole NAT 280/40 and after S/C to FL340 it showed 310/110 which was wrong for the rest of flt pln...Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

  9. Hi Travis, after using AS6.5 the sudden wind shifts stopped immediately - and where good grd stations are avail the wind reading are more or less correct - whereby correct means they are very similar to the navlog which I use to build my flt plan.Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  10. Hi,on SID and STAR I look at the fcst and will see what runways are in use - for dep its easy and for each rnwy you'll find in 99% of the cases only one exit point for your route and only one SID.For arr I use also the fcst and choose a rnwy which is the most likely - then same procedure choose the STAR for your entry point and the TR if avail - I use Navigraph. Before approach I listen to ATIS or see act wx and if nec I change the rnwy - I fly without "ATC"Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  11. Forget about ASX - I use since 6 months AS6.5 together with FSX with no problems...I use ASX only to copy the MAG VAR for my waypoints....Just finished a flt to KJFK - calc flt time 08:37 - act 08:29well within limits - winds stable and more or less accdg. AS6.5 navlog except over water the wind were completely off - reason for faster trip - on the navlog it showed 100 kts wind from NW - it was only 35 kts...I need help with the entry of wind data in the MD11 FMS - in the manual pages 10.17 and 18 they are are talking about the entry of TEMP/WIND - what I understand andon pages 10.30 and 31 ( descent fcst ) they say wind entries are done as waypoint wind entires... which is not correct. No other page found in the FMS manual...Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

  13. I have the problem only at certain airports - as mentionned before perfect autoland in LSZH and EDDF, but yesterday 150ft left at GOOY/DKR.I downloaded the tool and ran it, but it asked me to browse ( where ?), finally tried FSX folder, then it said you have to have admin rights...I have admin rights!Could somebody explain step by step how to use this tool - please!Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  14. Hi Al,just for info a few act figures from this RW flt pln:FRA-DKR 2612 nm wind comp M043 KGSTrip 50409 for 06:045% of trip fuel cont fuel ( normal in Europe ) 2520 for 00:18ALTN 116NM WC M004 3539 00:25Final res 3437 for 00:30Min TOfuel 59905 endurance 07:17plus extra and taxiIn your calculation the time and fuel for alternate seems to be too low ... what is RESV and HOLD - FAA reg.?Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  15. 16. Hi,just 2 landings so far - LSZH 14 and EDDF 25L - AUTOLAND -both just perfect...btw: the call-outs of the computer-lady( voice ) are ABSOLUTELY identical to the RW MD11 !!Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  17. Hi,trying to step into the depth of this beautiful machine I come to the load mgr - btw no problems with my fuel slider...(vista german )I think it would be a good idea to have the possibility to adjust the load mgr's basic settings.I have a real world flight plan (LCAG) where the basic settings are rather different:MAX ZFW is only 200.000 kgs iso 204.705MAX LOAD and ACT LOAD is 85290 kgs whereby the load mgr (unchangeable ) figure is 77110 kgs. Also the DOW is different...The point is, all airlines have different figures for their basic weights - so it should be made possible to adjust the load mgr accdg. to RW settings.Actually same applies to the 737/747 load manager...Back to fuel loading: For my FRA-DKR flight I calculated a blockfuel of 60.000 kgs - the slider allows either 59.500 or 61.000 kgs - it should be possible to enter the straight number ( 60.000 ) or to go to the PMDG fuel loader where you can enter the exact number and forget about the load mgr fuel loading at all...Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg

  20. Hi Michael, sorry to bother you, but anyway thanks for your quick reply. But bear in mind that the manuals have 1500+ pages - and a real world pilot has to attend 6 weeks ground course before even seeing a real airplane...and cockpit procedures trainer, then at least 30+ hrs sim sessions...The tutorial flight really helps a lot, but a short summary of ESSENTIAL and MUST HAVE/KNOW would really help to get going and then look up the manuals for further studies!BTW: The PMDG MD11 sim is astonishing real - even the voice of the computer-lady is absolutely indentical to the real MD11.I had 12 legs in the RW MD11-cockpit all the way to Far East, South America and to Alaska and I was really impressed about reality...Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
  21. Hi,just a short question : how can I change the intitial wind entry ?at F-PLN INIT you enter i.e. -52/T or H xxx and this will be transferred into the ACT F-PLN for the WHOLE flight.BUT: winds are not average - they change on a long-haul flt frequently and I found no way to change the wind on the actual waypoint pages. . .I checked the manual, but neither at the FMS part or other part I could find an answer.Karl-Heinz - EDDI/THF " Tempelhof "" The mother of all airports " - Sir Norman FosterWill be closed Oct30,2008 - its a shame !http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
