  1. I would second this, it would be a very useful feature to have and I would have thought fairly straight forward to implement given the trigger is an FMC value? Obviously it's not essential, but all the same would be nice. Cheers Craig Read
  2. Bad choice of words on my part, I understand it should turn into it. This bank isn't extreme but it's a slight lop sidededness on the PFD, I imagine "passengers" would barely notice but it's quite noticeable using instruments. I won't be able to test now as I am going away, I am sure this happened to me before and it turned out to be something silly. Could fsuipc be causing it? Bad calibration or something? Cheers PS excuse edits, stupid auto correct!
  3. I'll try to take one next time I go up, haven't got one at the moment.. but basically.. it's just banking slightly left.. not very much.. but it's constant.. it's clearly a response to the wind.. and I think you can trim it out.. I am just not sure if I'm doing that correctly.. If you have any pointers or ideas let me know.. I'll try them and report back.. if they don't work I'll take a screen shot. Controls are through FSUIPC though.. I thought I should mention that.. I am sure it's something stupid.. I just can't track it down.. Cheers
  4. This is basically, a 'what am I doing wrong?' post... During cruise the aircraft doesn't fly wings level, there is a very slight bank angle.. I've tried trim but I might not be doing this correctly.. can someone point me in the right direction? Cheers
  5. I have this same problem, the connection is working because I can see the CDU in the sim respond to button presses from the browser CDU, however I have no text display on the CDU on the browser at all. Cheers Craig Read
  6. Not perfect but far easier than loading each plane individually.. Cheers PS: Does HS-TGP really have a company cost index of 1000?
  7. Ok... I find that quite weird but hey.. easy come easy go.... For the record I personally found it very useful when I was setting up the aircraft in PFPX, for example checking simple things like which aircraft use lbs and which use kg etc.. For example I thought Virgin would use kg but in fact they use lb... doing this in the OPs centre is really easy with the Aircraft Specific Settings, I'm assuming the only other way is to load each aircraft or is there an easier way? Cheers Craig Read
  8. Can someone tell me if this is planned to be included or if its just me that doesn't have the aircraft specific settings option for the 744 in the Ops Centre? Cheers Craig Read
  9. If you are using something like EzDok or Chaseplane you may have numerical keypad keys set to move views, these also are the default keys for the simulator to control and move control surfaces. These often interfere too, this happened to me so I removed the key commands in P3D and now all is well. Cheers Craig Read
  10. It's an important question, I went P3D. But perhaps more importantly, should cups be the right way up or upside down in the cupboard.... Cheers Craig Read
  11. Just a question, already have your FMC apps for my iPad, I was wondering with the larger iPhones, is there any chance of iPhone support? Cheers Craig
  12. You do realise the FSLabs already ships with a virtual CDU you can connect to via web app don't you? This plus a fuelling panel as well, you can do all this remotely on your tablet.. Cheers Craig
  13. I don't understand where this comes from.. when I said.. "Do I think the 777, 737 or A320 are over priced? Categorically... No.. I do not think they are over priced. In fact I would even go as far to say they are probably priced quite modestly, in all cases." That statement includes the PMDG pricing. At what point have I said I think PMDG pricing is 'unreasonable', the answer is never. In fact I've said completely the opposite, I've said it's 'modest' on all counts.. which is the polar opposite. So what you've done here is quote me partially, make it sound like I disagree with you, when in fact if you read the entire post, it's absolutely obvious to anyone you're simply repeating a sentiment I already share. I respectfully request you don't quote me out of context or partially, please take the time to read and understand the point of my entire post before quoting parts of it that could easily be open to misinterpretation. So, just for clarity sake.. so there is no room for error.. I am saying.. PMDG and FSLabs pricing is modest in my view, that means I think it's exceptional value... But what I don't agree with, is if someone with a large public audience chooses to publicly state that the A320X is 'jaw dropping' in price, then they should be prepared to report the same view in respect of PMDG product pricing, but they don't, why? Because of bias.. and it's this bias I disagree with.. They won't call out PMDG pricing.. why? Because they have a relationship with the company.. so on one side they represent pricing as 'jaw dropping'.. on the other.. (for their friend) they say nothing.. this approach in my opinion shows a lack of integrity.. better to say nothing at all. Regards Craig
  14. What package did you use to do the repaint? I've been looking at giving this a go myself.. I'd be interested to know what you used. Regards Craig
  15. Which version of P3D are you using? In P3D v3.4 HF2 I'm experiencing very unstable behaviour regardless of addon. I've rolled back to v3.3 now and so far so good.. there are many posts regarding crashes and VAS management in the P3D forums, although no one can be sure of root cause, I believe it's currently recognised and under investigation. FSLabs themselves did draw attention to this in their own forum and it was a reason for delayed release. Incidentally, I've had trouble completing long haul flights in the PMDG 777 in P3D v3.4 HF2, again (and I don't know for certain) my perception is that this is a platform issue rather than aircraft addon issue. I am hoping the later P3D releases go someway to fixing this problem. Perhaps use P3D v3.3? Cheers Craig
  16. What I would say in reply is compare the price for the 777 base package from PMDG for P3D which is $135. This product was released I believe around 2013. For this you get an exceptional airliner, 1 engine type, the 200LR and F air frames which are very similar. For $140 from FSLabs you get a product released in 2017, for P3D of a single air frame with two engine types, performance modelling vastly different for each engine variant. From that you could potentially argue that the FSLabs represents better value for money, and that's if you ignore inflation (and if you weren't let's say it would be around 2% for 4 years it's the equivalent of $146 in today's money on release day). So my point is simple, to state, that the A320X is 'jaw dropping' in price, is only a fair statement, if you are also saying the 777 is 'jaw dropping' in price, and since it's been said that the 747-400 pricing will be inline with the pricing of the 777, this too will be 'jaw dropping'. However the content creator appears to have a large bias in this case. I expect this content creator to criticise, in the same terms, the 747 and 777 pricing from PMDG, if that content creator doesn't do this, then it would suggest their point of view is not even handed. Let me make one closing remark so I am not open to misinterpretation. Do I think the 777, 737 or A320 are over priced? Categorically... No.. I do not think they are over priced. In fact I would even go as far to say they are probably priced quite modestly, in all cases. That's my point of view and I stand by it. I am saying that if I was as a content creator with a wide audience, integrity would be extremely important to me, and I would be considered, even handed and fair in how I represented pricing. In this case I believe they did not do this, they stated one product is jaw dropping in price and glossed over the fact that the 747 is going to be 'inline with the 777' therefore likely to be in the same ball park of $134.99 for P3D or most likely even higher. It implies that one represents value for money and the other does not, and since it was also stated they didn't own the A320X I am not sure how they would be in a position to make such a comparison. So I expect this content creator, on release day of the 747, to pass comment on it's 'jaw dropping' price, or, there is clearly favouritism and therefore compromised integrity, and viewers of their content should be aware such a bias exists. It will be interesting to see PMDG's reaction to his price assessment. I expect RSR might be less than impressed... So they could have said... "The A320X isn't a cheap addon, it's $140 if you want the P3D version (although I think you also could get the FSX version too through upgrade), so it's inline with other study level simulations like the PMDG 777. I don't actually own it myself so I'm not in a position to comment on it personally, however for all intents and purposes, and considering reviews by real pilots, it's widely accepted it's an exceptionally well done A320, most likely the best on the market today.. if that's the case then the price tag is consistent with the market".... more even handed I'd say.. wouldn't you? Regards Craig
  17. Kevin, I was talking about this particular video, not the forum.. But I share your sentiment.. Anyway the bus is brilliant
  18. The A320 by FSLabs is the best rendition of the Airbus out there, some would argue it's the most comprehensive add on ever made, and I'd agree with them. I would not hesitate in purchasing it and I didn't. You will get many happy hours flying it. On a side note... I have seen some commentary in 'news' items on YouTube by content creators calling the price 'jaw dropping' which is irresponsible. So just to qualify that statement let's do some comparisons, and please don't misinterpret me, I regard all PMDG products as best in class for their aircraft, no doubt about it... but I want to say this because it has annoyed me and it needs mentioning. As a company I would also be careful of bias, even positive bias like this, as it has the capacity to alienate and be counter productive. So..... If you want a PMDG license for the NGX base package in FSX and P3D it will cost $160 (and let's not forget this was 5 years ago). Can someone therefore explain to me why when I got the bus for FSX and P3D, for the price tag of $140 it's now described quite seriously as a "jaw dropping" price? And let's not forget, for that I also get an MCDU I can use on my iPad via web app. I mean... Seriously?! I'm not saying the NGX isn't great, and the 777 for that matter.. I love both and happily paid the money for them, PMDG do a great job. And I don't doubt for a second the 747 will be great, but in this video conveniently pricing was glossed over, strangely... But we know from PMDG pricing for the 747 will be 'inline with the 777', and this for FSX and P3D base package licenses its $225, obviously not jaw dropping enough. Even if, you bought the bus full price FSX and P3D it is $240, that's comparing a highly detailed study level add on released 2016/2017 with a price from 2013... how is one called out and the other glossed over? My message to this content creator is simple, many people watch your content and you have a responsibility to be even handed. If you want to call the A320 price jaw dropping, I expect an even hand and the NGX, 777 and 747 (assuming it inline with the 777) pricing to be described in the same manner, if you are not prepared to do that, out of loyalty, or for whatever reason, then please do not comment at all on price. It's misleading, deliberate or not. What has been said is inflammatory, and completely unjustified, and has certainly made me question whether or not I will be watching more of their content. Anyway, if you can afford it, get the bus... It's great.. Cheers Craig
  19. I've been revisiting this and spending a lot of time on it to get to grips with it.. it's starting to make some sense to me now and I'm getting the hang of it steadily. I have a suggestion though. Can Scroll Mouse Zoom only work when you're not trying to use controls, i.e. when you're not on a click spot? I think standard P3D just has zoom on when you're in 'mouse look' I think this could work... Having it ON or OFF means that you can't move the controls without turning it off in the GUI, which makes it that bit less useful for me.. Just a suggestion. Cheers
  20. Watching the Airline2sim cadet training for the 777, in video 14 at around 1 hour 24 minutes they're starting their approach to the field. The aircraft is programmed to maintain 170/1500 at the waypoint PERLY. This was setup at 28 minutes in the video. However when they set VNAV when approaching PERLY it accelerates to 225, but shouldn't it have maintained 170? I'm not saying this is a bug, it's more a question because the guy doing these videos is a 777 pilot with many hours and he seemed quite surprised at this behaviour saying in the video "it should gone to 170"... "It shouldn't have done that..." Could anyone at PMDG comment on this? Cheers Craig
  21. So.. OOM was close at the end.. I did have 1 crash close to landing, then another on the ground both annoying.. the one on landing was the Menu.dll crash (I think caused by the fact my camera.cfg had stuff in it for v3.4, I've since rebuilt camera.cfg and hoping that goes away, dml.xml, no duplicates in both copies, I realise there are two..) the next was because I was trying to use GSX at the Gate and couatl crashed the sim (I was being a bit click happy with the menus).. On approach, even with the re-load I was getting warnings with the chime that OOM was imminent while I was on final... Difficult to be sure since I had to reset the sim on descent, but I didn't ever get as far with P3D v3.4 (even with a lot of scenery disabled) so I am inclined to think performance with P3D v3.3.5 is better than v3.4 as far as VAS is concerned for my setup.. even with the hotfix.. I will try again later on.. I'm hoping a new release comes out soon and that is a smoother transition.. it's a shame because I like my long hauls! Cheers
  22. Yeah I'm not counting my chickens yet lol soon starting descent.
  23. Back onto topic, I'm flying with all my scenery on (on purpose, I know how stupid this really is but I wanted to see if it would work) and that's a lot.. EHAM to KLAX in the PMDG 777-300ER (KLM livery from EHAM of course).. so far 9 hours in and no OOM on P3D v3.3.5.. the Project Fly tool VAS monitor is hovering around 83%..
  24. I like the concept, and I don't doubt that my experience with Simstarter has probably got a degree of 'problem exists between chair and keyboard' but I have found it quite frustrating to use at times.. hence why now I'm just using it as a scenery management tool at the moment. I might try to play a little more with it in future but we'll see. But I have noticed some things, such as the setting of the scenario is troublesome and so on.. So essentially I lost patience in the end.. horses for courses and all that..
  25. Having been on the Beta team at one point (MD-11, I think actually by mistaken identity which I tried to correct, but hey ho..) I can say from experience that it's a lot of effort. I actually remember writing to RSR towards the end of it simply saying that I didn't have the time to contribute like the others did and consequently should really be left out of it. I also offered to relinquish the 'perk' as it only seemed right. He was pretty generous actually, and still gave me the MD-11 despite me saying I'd pay for it. Being on Beta teams may seem like it's a lot of Kudos, we do a lot where I work as well, and it's true that you do get some perks, but there is an element of work to this and effort involved. To be perfectly honest, at least from my perspective I wouldn't put the time in to be on any Beta team, life for me is just too busy (plus home command thinks I 'fly' too much as it is). For those that 'wish' to be on it, just be careful what you wish for... personally.. I like to pay my money when it's out.. and have none of the hassle (uninstalling, reinstalling, uninstalling, reinstalling.. sometimes twice a day.. it does become a bind folks). Cheers
