  1. Really nice shots there Scandinavian 407, & that cockpit view is so good, the detail around the window is excellent... Cheers, Dave.
  2. Hi math341c, I have both FSBuild & vroute premium, and to be honest I find that I use vroute more than FSBuild, as vroute premium can create & export flightplans for many aircraft including the PMDG ones directly from the planning tab & this is the main reason that I use it, I think a trial version is available for download. Kind regards, Dave.
  3. I wouldn't get too concerned 'bout the flightsim coverage from the networks, if MH370 is still missing a week from now, the whole story will most probably have slipped out of the hourly/daily updates anyway. As of the last few years I no longer watch either CNN or Sky news, no mattter what event is been covered, as I found that sensationalism was the main driving force behind coverage, trying to draw in extra revenue for the advertisers by sucking in more viewers. In my opinion, the biggest danger to simming is probably a lack of interest/awareness in the general populace, leading to fewer developments in the area long term, maybe because people dont have the time, interest, or concentration to spend an hour or more with the sim, rather than spending a few seconds on FB playing angry B's & then switching to something else. Regards, Dave.
  4. Good story there 3mta3, it sounds like touch & go's in a jet are the business! Regards, Dave.
  5. Well done Tom. Its good to have Avsim back up & running... Felt like I had given it up for Lent! Well done Tom. Its good to have Avsim back up & running... Felt like I had given it up for Lent!
  6. Hey Moumout, Maybe you could try a Western Union money transfer or other similar company, or perhaps contact a bank, but beware of the charges involved. All the best, Dave
  7. Not out yet...

I am so sorry to hear that about you Dad,Our condolences, & God Bless,Regards,Dave.
  9. Hi Skinsalon,Good stuff!Glad to hear it worked, This is the way I get it to go...dunno why as well, but hey, it goes! Thats what matters!Cheers,Dave.
  10. Hi Skinsalon,I had a similar problem with RC as well. For me what cured it was to ensure that I went through the various screens each time I wanted to use RC. Loading up the flightplan, then checking out the Controller info screen, followed by the General screen & then keyboard & voices where I usually left 'em at the default settings. I still follow this process today, but for the main 'in sim' RC selection keys, I have 'em prefixed with the CTRL key so as not to confuse the LDS 767 fuel filling chappie, who seems to work of the same actual digit choices. Sometimes the little RC menu box does not appear when I run RC & FSX, so I usually exit back to the free flight menu and exit outa RC and then re run RC, get set up as above and run the flight on FSX. RC always works then for me the second time around if it fails to run on the 1st time. excellent program though, looking forward to V5.Cheers,Dave.
  11. Hi Guys,Thanks for the help,Cheers,Dave.
  12. Oops! I meant to say how to import a flight plan created in FSBuild, for use with Radar Contact?Any advice is much appreciated.Cheers,Fisky1.
  13. Hi Guys,Just a quick question, I dont know if this has been covered before, but how does one convert/import a flight plan created in FSBuild for use with the Level D (FSX) 767?Any advice is much appreciated.Cheers,Fisky1.
  14. Thanks Guys for the advice,But I've decided I am going to give acceleration a little more time, 'cause I want to double check that all payware planes are patched up to date, and installed correctly.Cheers,Fisky1.
  15. Hi All,I've almost decided to remove Acceleration from my PC & FSX, as I think its responsible for a number of glitches with some of my payware aircraft. Namely the CS 757, the CLS/Just Flight A340 500/600 (VC windscreen glitches when raining, on both planes) and my FSD Piper Navajo whic refuses to work at all.My question is that I know I have to go through the whole process of uninstalling FSX & acceleration and then re-installing FSX & SP1, and then reinstalling my planes...again, but is there any way the whole process can be shortened...Maybe I can avoid the process if anyone has heard of a patch or something for the above planes. I have the latest CS patch, 1.4 installed.Oh well,Cheers,Fisky1.
  16. Hi Guys,I reckon that Dolpa (VNDP) in Nepal is also one of the best takeoffs available in FS! Titanic mountains all around you and a surprise at the end of the runway - just make sure you are flying! Its a good idea to do a personal top-ten of interesting things to see & do in FS, I'll see can I come up with a few places as well.Cheers,Fisky1
  17. Hi All,Just wondering where you folks think in FSX is the most interesting VFR flight? Is it for example, maybe a short cross country trip in Italy, or a dawn Safari in somewhere in Keyna, or a helicopter trip over the Grand Caynon in the US. Maybe up to two hours flying time, using anything from a Piper Cub to the King Air...Any ideas??Cheers,Fisky1
  18. Hi jboweruk,I could be wrong, but the altitude issues may stem from the fact that you may have to adjust your QNH settings (On the Altimeter). The QNH is given out by ATC for your chosen local airport. The QNH is used in conjunction with the TA or Transition Altitude setting. I think the actual TA itself can vary from place to place, you may need to check out charts or on Avsim for example. However, the TA can be set in RC in the Controllers section. There are two points to note here: Below the TA & above the TA. When below the TA the local ATC will issue the QNH setting which you dial into the altimeter. Above the TA, the standard setting of 1013mb (Europe)or 29.92inches (USA) is used. This is to ensure that all aircraft altimeters are reading the same at this level or above. When desending back through the TA level from cruise, you must reset the QNH on the altimeter to the local setting as stated by ATC otherwise your altimeter will be incorrectly set and your altitude readings will also be incorrect.Anyways, hope the above is correct, maybe somone else will correct me, as at the moment I am a bit rusty with my FS flying, & am trying to re-learn the art of instrument flying, but I have to say that RC is a great program and combined with FSX makes flying all the more enjoyable!Cheers,Fisky1.
  19. Hi Glenn,I'll give it a go and see how it works!Cheers,Fisky1,Galway,Ireland.
  20. Hi all,Just a quick question, how do I get FSX Flights to start in fullscreen mode?My flights start in windowed mode and I got to manually change to full screen mode before taking off...Thanks in advance,Regards,Fisky1,Galway,Ireland.
  21. Hi All,It seems that RCV4.3 and SP1 work together fine. I just reinstalled RC over a fresh install of FSX and SP1, and all seems to be working perfectly.Regards,Fisky1,Galway,Ireland.
  22. Hi Dirk,The framerates in a test flight out of London Heathrow were varying from 4.5 frames per sec to about 9fps shortly after take off. However the FPS were similar without Flight Check running.Slight improvement by flying out of Stanstead or Dublin. Overall, no major difference in FSX FPS using Flight Check, but the loading times were longer when Flight check was running in the background.I hope to try both RCV4 and Flight Check running together later on...Looking forward to SP1 to improve those rates!Cheers,Fisky1,Galway,Ireland.
  23. Your Welcome Psyonic,Im glad this method works for you as well,Regards,Fisky1Galway,Ireland.
  24. Yes, I agree,Vile yellow and blue decor just doesn't seem proper in a nice shiny new 787! However in saying that, for cheapish fares across the Atlantic I would put up with any mix of colours, and enjoy the trip on the new plane!Regards,Fisky1,Galway,Ireland.
  25. Hi All,Recently came across a program called 'FSX Flight Check' which seems to be a free beta download of a program that works in a similar manner to FS Passengers, but is designed for FSX.I downloaded and installed it, and it seems to run ok. It has a number of features which includes a rather annoying vocal call out every minute or so when flying, but it does seem to take in to account proper flying techniques, and basic pre-flight checks as well. It also checks to see how your passengers are in relation to their comfort level/fear level, which directly reflects on your flying ability. After your flight you are given an overall rating, which is dependent on how professional your skill level is set at, and how successfull your flight was.Im curious to know is anyone else out there using this program and what are their thoughts on it??
