  1. I was thinking about the gears too, though that would be a first, since I've flown on A319, 737(200/300/400/800), 727, Dc-10, 777-200, Md-11, Fokker 100 and never heard that noise.
  2. I have a question relating to real world aviation. It is a stupid question, but it has been bugging me ever since. I've arrived in Sao Paulo in an Airbus A340-300 from TAP, and before landing, i heard two big THUDs. Well, the sound is comparable as to what you hear when you are inside a car, speeding on a highway and you pass over a small ondulation on the road. For example, when they are replacing the asphalt, and the difference between the new one and the old one, usually will have a few inches of a bump. Or when you go over a bridge, and there is a small space between the bridge and the main road. I have been mulling about this for a while, since I never heard it happening before.Does someone know what it could be?
  3. Everyone forgot about the thirdwire series, Strike Fighters! It's cheap, has tons of addons, dynamic campaign, and great support! http://www.thirdwire.com/The best of all? you get to fly in F-14's, Phantom's and even Super Sabre's! Yeah, this sounds like a promo post, but trust me, it is worth every penny!Ricardo de Paula
  4. Maybe this real world report might helphttp://www.avherald....=438188a8&opt=0 Ricardo de Paula
  5. Well according to the news source posted by the OP, it won't be a problem if there is a fire, in fact, it will be better than aluminum. Ricardo de Paula
  6. The only thing good it might come out of a ETOPS failure would be a Trijet a la L-1011 or Dc-10/MD-11, then again, that is just wishful thinking of my part. The chances are it will never happen(the trijet bit) :Big Grin:Ricardo de Paula
  7. What worries me even more is the" live" feature. I have a few games with it, and it is the most atrocious little thing I've ever seen. Fallout(3) games are easy to mod, but you need to disable "live" to be able to use many mods. GTA4, you also have to disable "live" to be able to mod it... In fact, every time they released a patch for GTA4 we had to wait weeks for someone to crack "live" and disable it so we could continue using mods. For example, I've lost my saves from Dirt 2, and guess what. I can't download a save file somewhere, so I have to start from scratch if I want to race a specific track. When they release updates, if you opt to update the game using "live", it will take you the eternity to download, and with no progress track or even how much you are downloading. I'm not even going to mention the constant bugging to login. I'll still wait and see, but nothing will stop me worrying about things like that.
  8. Sadly, I keep having the black screens when I try to access a menu, like seeing the flight planner, it has a heavy probability that the screen will become black. I've tried every uiautomationcore.dll, even the 6.0.6001.18000.I used to counteract this by having printed most of the radios and CRS for auto landing, and other details, but since I can't find the folder where the paperwork is, I'm having to use the flight planner to see it. Actually, anything that requires for the background to be black to display the options menu will cause this, from pmdg options to other addons as well. Today I had to load my FSX 2 times to do a flight, the first time the blackscreen popped up after I tried to fill in the MD-11 tank using the pmdg menu, then the second one by using the flight planner. Thankfully saving the flight helped, so I could at least restart where I left off(Approach). And after landing I went to check something on the PMDG Md-11 load manager by minimizing and when I returned...black screen. Is there anything else besides the uiautomationcore.dll that can help me solve this? I'm using my fsx.cfg with flushed shaders(3.0) and what http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html suggested(Bojote is a genius)ricardo de Paula
  9. The new color reminds me of the old launch color from the 747-100Ricardo dePaula
  10. the vc rain issue, and the weather system so we can use weather radar.
  11. Do you guys have any opinion, word or anything that could be developed by pmdg on regards of the G19 and G15 keyboards? This is more of a curiosity than a request,so no need to lose your hair follicles in this :smile:Ricardo de Paula
  12. The L-1011 would one of those great addons everyone wants, but unfeasible. What I think might be a good logical solution for them would, even with the other planes in development, would be the MD-10. A quick cash-cow expansion using the MD-11. Though the 717 would be great, they've already said it was a no-no, they are too busy doing other things...but we can dream, can't we?Ricardo De Paula
  13. It's already out the 777 http://www.avsim.com/pages/0901/pmdg_fly_777/pmdg_fly_777.htmlDidn't you know? Sorry, had to make a harmless joke, because I couldn't pass it up.. :( :( :( B) B) Ricardo de Paula
  14. Wow, is that plane the real thing? Every time I look at the pictures, I think it is a real plane!
  15. I don't have the tendency to watch those TV programs, because there is a lot of nothing and barely any science. Smetimes, when there's nothing to watch, I may give a glance or two. I do like the Mayday! or Air Crash investigation that shows up in National Geographic, Monsters Inside me and Engineering Connections. Though I love top gear for their stunts, because personally I don't have much interests for cars. :(
  16. that's not a UFO(using the common definition of the conspiracy theorists and paranoids), it is a weather balloon or a flare from an aircraft. There's nothing for you to see there, move along :( :( :( Ricardo de Paula
  17. Once again, thank you for the reply and to clear up my doubts. I thought it was as big on a prop plane as in jets. I did a few flights in a Dc-3 in FSX, and ended up with a "Screwed" up engine and carburator, which is why I asked. But, after what you said,I understand it is really not needed to have it extremely modeled beyond the default model in icing. I'll be (im)patiently waiting for the next batch :Big Grin:Congratulations for the entire pmdg team for their work and the OCD in getting the details right( Yes, I have OCD, so much that I stopped playing STO because they couldnt get nooks and crannies right on the ships :( :( )Ricardo de PaulaEDIT: damn, I keep forgetting to put my name
  18. RyanLooking at all that ice, it popped up a question or two in my mind, I hope it is not something you are not allowed to say. How is the icing done? Visually and in systems/FD? For example, having the icing build up like I saw on JS41(I don't own it, but I've seen screenies), would it be visible on a 737? And on the windshield? If we let the plane ice up parked on the gate, will it show? Will it affect the plane more than what we have in a default 737? Finally, but just curiosity, will the 737 have that nice light that seems to be popping-up in the new payware planes? Dynamic light, that actually lights up ahead. thanks once again for all the replies Ryan! Ricardo de Paula
  19. Thanks! I think you are right on that. Ricardo de Paula
  20. Ryan;Sorry to bother you in this very busy day,but I have a question...or two or three. Since my real flight experience is only as a passenger... Would we hear the brakes being applied when we land? What about the eyebrows of the 737, would it include the model without it? I wouldn't mind staying without that extra model,or even a VC who doesn't reflect that change, I'm only asking because there are so many details that I was just speechless! Like I mentioned before, can I clone you and the rest of pmdg team? :Big Grin:ricardo de Paula
  21. Holy mother of the great deluxe tacos! That... Those... I ... huh... Are... We... The... It...Can I have the pmdg's team DNA so we could clone them and have my own PMDG team? :Just Kidding:It seems it even has wingflex, transparent windows to terrain radar! :( :blink:Ricardo de Paula
  22. For the people who keep asking for release dates or wanting pmdg to rush something. Let's draw a comparison, pmdg is to fsx what architects and engineers are for bridge building. Will you rush the engineers to finish the bridge without testing and see if it will stand the test of time and the weather and the people? Nope. you wouldn't, and they usually delay for those reasons, unexpected problems and etc. The same thing with pmdg, have patience and enjoy their other products, understandably no human life will be under threat from a badly designed pmdg product, but they are still "engineers" who are proud of what they do, and the quality of the product. So, again, let pmdg work, let them take all the time they need. ricardo de Paula
  23. Like I said, cheap, easy to produce expansion for easy income. They achieved the same thing with the 747 LCF and the 747-8. How many operators use the LCF and how many are in service? Regardless of the answer,it is still extremely unlikely that an md-10 would be made, and much less a fully fledged DC-10.Ricardo De Paula
  24. Bold added by me.that is exactly why I suggested the MD-10, because it would be an easy expansion for the MD-11, easier than the 747-8. Because the instruments are all there, the cockpit too... I'm sure, that most of the FD would be similar. Ricardo DePaula
  25. Ok, no problem :(. thanks for the answer.the only reason I suggested the MD-10 was because of the expansion packs you guys did for the 747. Like a cheap way of getting more income for the awesome PMDGAnyway, again, thanks for taking the time to answer my question.Ricardo de Paula
