  1. Wish I'd seen this thread before uninstalling EZCA - 'coz now even updates 1.16 and 1.17 are zapped by NOD32 :diablo: Original 1.15 from the Flight1 wrapper installs OK. Looks like I'm going to have to disable NOD32 altogether while installing and then, as you suggested, add EZCA.exe to the exclusions. Agree it's most likely that a new threat has characteristics too similar to EZCA.exe for NOD32 to ignore, why else would this start to happen right now and not before. What a nuisance... ADDENDUM : got EZCA installed again, and exclusion for EZCA.exe added to NOD32 after which no further nuisance reports (for now). I also sent the file to ESET as a possible false positive. Hopefully they will check it out and do something about it.
  2. Pete, Unfortunately I haven't got an answer, but thought you might like to know that I found the same issue last night. This was the 738 WL with Air Pacific livery on a 1.5h flight from YSNF to NZAA, payload about 13800 kg, fuel 6600 kg. Trim setting was calculated by the FMC as 3.5, but with the Trim Down button I assigned on my CH Products yoke I couldn't get down beyond about 4.5. Like you I had to move the trim wheel further with the mouse to get to the setting I needed. It's not a biggie - only a bit irritating - but I'd also like to know if there is a way around this (or what I did wrong, which is more likely !).
  3. Regarding your ILS course issue : in addition to what Oliver mentioned already, check out the paragraph on the SET FSX LOC CRS option on page 72 of the NGX Introduction document. From what you describe, it looks like this option is active in your setup and the above paragraph in the document explains it.
  4. I am looking for a PMDG NGX forum banner to insert into my forum signature. After spending almost an hour searching and googling I've given up and posted a question here. Is there such a thing and if so, where can I find it ? The weird thing is that I used to have one, but it seems to have disappeared from wherever it was hosted. Thanks for any hints. EDIT : Moderator, please delete this thread - somehow this post appears twice. Tried to get rid of it but couldn't, sorry.

  6. Suggest you contact PMDG via their support ticket system : http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/support.html In order to resolve this particular issue, you will need to get assistance from PMDG. This is available to anyone who has purchased their software through the official channels. Oh, and if you want to post more in this forum, it would be good if you could sign with your name. That's a forum rule and I'm just informing you politely - before someone else does and a bit more bluntly  .
  7. Just came across your post when searching for exactly those data - thanks very much for the upload :Applause: .
  8. Love it !! From another 61 years young : this hobby has been part of my life for over 20 years and while I've got less time these days due to work, it's still THE hobby for me. My wife is quite used to asking "where are you flying tonight" as though it's the most natural thing in the world to do ! You gotta love the way that the experience has become so much more realistic and immersing over the years, in no small part thanks to PMDG :Applause: . No, my now grown-up kids will never be able to say that their dad is old for his age B) . Christmas break coming up, I hope to get a decent start on the 777.
  9. I assume he means the EZCA manual 'coz that's the software he was referring to . In any case, I can fully recommend EZCA as well. I've been using it since the NGX was released and found it one of the most useful FSX add-ons I've got. With it, saving the VC views you want to instantly open, becomes a breeze.
  10. Many thanks indeed, Greg - much appreciated.
  11. Hi Guenther, I've had a chance to check out what you've done sofar with the mouse macros : thanks, I've learnt something new again ! I was planning to at least record mouse macros for the 777's captain and FO CDUs for my own use but I will be happy to send them to you so that you can add them to the one you've set up already. Until such time that someone works out how PMDG have done it and make that accessible to the masses, mouse macros would be a suitable alternative (Pete Dowson to the rescue again :clapping:!). Will try to sit down to that task in the next week or so.
  12. Cool job, Lasse ! Thank you for sharing :clapping: .
  13. Hi Guenther, Thanks, I'll have a look at it. I'm not doing much with the 777 yet due to limitations on how much time I can spend on the hobby at the moment.
  14. Hi Guenther, Many thanks for your prompt reply. You've confirmed what I had already suspected. I imagine that PMDG would have had good reasons to do things differently AGAIN compared with the JS4100 and then the NGX, but it's not overly helpful for people with modest home cockpits such as myself. I hadn't tried mouse macros yet - that may be the solution for now. Many of the functions I need, will be covered with the key commands accessible through the 777's CDU anyway. At least I can stop wasting time trying to make something work that won't ! Addition : just found that mouse macros do seem to work with the CDU buttons, so that'll help me out at least for now.
  15. Hi Guenther, I've started to use LINDA's console capabilities to find the functions that PMDG's 777 uses for the CDU buttons (of course). You told me at the time for the 737 NGX CDU that I would need to find the FSX controls as well as the LVars. So I did, and I've got that working very well as you know. But now with the PMDG 777 I'm a bit stuck : I have found the LVars that are addressed by two of the CDU buttons (sofar, just for testing). When I press these CDU buttons with the mouse, the LINDA console shows the LVars being written to but I can't see an FSX control being written as well. Consequently, the small Lua plug-in I've written for test purposes does indeed write the LVars OK, but this does not operate the actual CDU buttons. Is the 777 any different from the NGX in this regard ? Am I missing something ? If so, can you point me in the right direction ? Thanks heaps.
  16. I haven't purchased the 777 yet, but will most certainly do so once I consider myself sufficiently proficient with PMDG's other marvels the 737 NGX and the JS4100. But thank you very much for drawing attention to this feature. I've already installed the frictions lua plug-in and will try it out with the NGX first. Of course I don't know how realistic the feature is, but if it alleviates the problem of having to apply considerable break-away thrust then that alone will be worth it - not to mention the all-too-quick slowing down after reducing thrust to idle again once moving.
  17. Hi Guenther, I've recently started to work with PMDG's fabulous JS4100. As was the case with the NGX, LINDA has been very helpful to me - thank you and the guys ! I'm now at the stage where my "home cockpit" is pretty well ready for the JS4100. In the process I have also managed to create a Lua plug-in with which all the buttons of the JS4100's FMS can be operated. If you're interested in adding this to your J41 LINDA module, let me know and I'll post it here for you.
  18. Hi Michael, You may want to check out LINDA. The J41 LINDA module does include a function for the ground spoiler.
  19. Mike, I don't know whether you're running FSX through an external frame rate limiter or not. But if you do, I found exactly the same thing happening to my PC's framerate when under those circumstances I opened a second window to try & drag the overhead panel to a second monitor. As soon as I closed that second window again, framerate recovered without fail. This was the case not just with the NGX but with another (non-PMDG) add-on airliner as well so I had to conclude that it was a side-effect of the FPS limiter (but I stand to be corrected). Hope this info is of some use to you.
  20. Hi Sebastian, FWIW I have Ultimate Traffic II installed and am happy enough with it. Having said that, I don't use it often these days since the limited flying time that I get, is usually on VATSIM, where I don't want AI traffic to get in the way.
  21. Hiya Bruce, Good to see you're still around and involved with the hobby ! It's a long way back to those ATP days, isn't it  ?!
  22. Ever thought of going into politics :Straight Face: ? Oh wait  ... Anyway, thanks for the smile, Robert. Continuing to look forward to the 777's release - when you guys are ready ! I'm having too little time for, and too much fun with, the JS4100 and NGX for the foreseeable future anyway :drinks:.
  23. Many thanks Kevin, that answers my question :clapping:. I'll check out the smartcockpit website too.
  24. Thanks Cameron, I am aware of that principle and have managed to simulate it on my home rig for the NGX but I was wondering if the same applies to the JS4100. If it does, I can simulate it to add to the realism but otherwise I'd just use the parking brake lever.
