  1. Ah, okay. Luckily, I've got two physical drives, with Win on one and FSX on the other. So that's fine then, yes?
  2. So you are saying that FSX must be on the same partition like Windows? Never had it set-up this way...
  3. I'm having the same issue now. Worked perfectly for weeks, and last night on my second flight (first one was flawless), the brakes failed after touchdown. And they still do so today. Same a/c, nothing changed, no failures active, no overheating. To me it does not look like the actual brakes don't work, but rather that FSX can't apply the brakes any more. If this were due to an a/c malfunction of any kind (like service based failures), shouldn't the BRAKE message appear on the bottom left of the screen nevertheless when I pull the trigger or press the dot key? At least it does so when the autobrakes kick-in.
  4. I guess that the "panel state" is not quite what you're looking for.To load a previously saved flight plan, select the CO ROUTE prompt on the RTE page in the CDU. Select the desired flight plan from the list and press the EXEC button. Select the ACTIVATE prompt and you're done.
  5. Once CONFIRM is displayed, the EXEC button on the CDU will be lit. Press EXEC. The Route will be saved as XXXXYYYY001, where xxxx is the departure airport and yyyy the arrival airport. To load a saved Route, click the CO ROUTE prompt and select the desired Route from the list. Click the EXEC button and select ACTIVATE. Works like a treat.
  6. Arrrrgh! Thanks! Somehow I didn't think of clicking the DES button. I was always looking for a DES prompt in the INIT REF Index.Solved. THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!
  7. I know that, thanks. Anyway, it can't be correct that I'm prompted to calibrate my altimeter at 17000ft, can it? I haven't found any page other than ACT PERF INIT where I can enter the Transition Altitude. There is no Descend page, is there?
  8. Yup. Click the RTE button, and on RTE page 1, click the SAVE prompt. To load, click the CO ROUTE prompt.
  9. Hi folks, Although I globally changed the Transistion Altitude to 5000ft via the PMDG Options in the CDU, it always defaults to 17000ft when setting up a new flight. I know this has been reported before, and of course it's not a real problem to change this to 5000 each time. However, when descending, I still get the prompt to change my altimeter setting from STD to local QNH when I pass 17000ft, even though 5000 is set for the current flight. The "STD" in the PFD turns yellow within a box, as soon as I descend through 17000ft. And this is a bit annoying. (At the moment, I can't remember if it's the same in climb.) I'm using the 800WL variant with Air Berlin livery. Anyone else observed this behaviour? Thanks
  10. Hi folks, After having enjoyed a couple of flights at daytime with everything working as it should, I just ran into lots of problems when flying at night. - First thing I noticed was that the TRANS ALT defaults to 17000ft, although I had set this to 5000 via the PMDG menu in the CDU.- The strobe lights don't seem to work.- Once I was ready for taxi, the throttles on my joystick didn't respond, neither did the engines displays. They were "frozen" at 31% N1. Changing thrust via the F3 key worked, but the displays were still frozen. So, I restarted FSX, tried again, but: - Still 17000ft TRANS ALT- Still no strobes- This time, I was able to taxi to the holding point, but when I tried to stop, the thrust lever on my joystick failed to work again, and I could not steer the nose wheel via my joystick's z-axis any more. I didn't have any of these issues at daytime. Did anyone experience similar problems at night or has anyone have an idea what's wrong here? Thanks in advance.
  11. I'm working on my PC anyway, so no problem hitting F5 from time to time. After all, this will be a wonderful birthday present (should it become available again today). Thanks! And the same to you
  12. Happy Birthday, Sir! And congratulations on a beautiful piece of art soon to be in our hands. All the best from Germany.
  13. Is your machine a dedicated FSX system? If not and you also run other stuff, then I would never ever go for the GTX 285 these days. It does not support DX11, it's hotter and it's louder than the 5870.Stefan Keller
  14. Or like spelling people like "pople" No offence either.Stefan Keller
  15. Dear all,I have a strange problem with my 747X. As long as the VC is disabled via Load Manager, everything works like a treat. However, when I enable the VC, my FSX crashes within seconds to minutes when I'm in the 747. And it does not matter if I actually "use" the VC. As soon as it's enabled in Load Manager, I can't use the 747 any more. I'm running Win 7 64 bit as an administrator with UAC switched off. Quad-Core, 4GB RAM, HD5850. And yes, I always load a default aircraft first. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance,Stefan Keller
