  1. The process of saving company routes indeed seems to be missing from the documentation. I'm pretty surprised  There's a section about loading company routes, though. You'll find this in the 'Flight Crew Operations Manual Vol. 2' (PMDG-NGX-FCOMv2.pdf) on page 11.40.14 – 11.40.16 (which is 928-930 in the PDF). Basically, the manuals done by PMDG specifically for the NGX are the 'Introduction' (must read) and both the 'Tutorials' (should do). The other docs (FCOM 1 & 2, QRH and Flight Crew Training Manual) are pretty much real world Boeing material, so you won't find anything in there that is not in the real plane (like activating/clearing failures, opening doors, removing the GPU and alike).
  2. I got it up and running now :yahoo: The problem was my FSX default startup state which involved the NGX. I know, I know, I know, this is explicitly *not* recommended by PMDG, but it used to work fine before... :unknw: Switched back to the Ultralight for startup, and that did the trick!
  3. The failed module name is "FS2CrewNGXVoice.GAU_unloaded", in case this helps. I have to leave now, unfortunately. I'm going to try again later tonight.
  4. Hi Bryan, No, I did not change anything. In fact, I completed my last flight using FS2Crew something like 40 hours ago. Can I (for testing purposes) simply revert back to FS2Crew without 'Emergency' via the Config Manager or would I need to re-install? Thanks, Stefan
  5. Hi Bryan, I have been using FS2Crew NGX Voice Edition roughly since the day it was released and have enjoyed it big time. How excited was I when I received your e-mail this morning that Emergency NGX! had been released! So, I went to your Site, purchased, downloaded and installed the software (running the installer as an administrator), activated Emergency and Voice in the Config Manager, and then this: Tried three times, tried again after rebooting the system, and always ended there... At the first FSX start after installing Emergency NGX!, I did receive the dialog to confirm that your gauge should be used, but after that, FSX just doensn't launch and always reports this error. Any help would be much appreciated! I'm running Win 7 64bit. Thanks in advance, Stefan
  6. Well, I have two monitors, so I run FSX on my main display and stuff like FSCommander or IvAp on the secondary. If you only have a single monitor, I guess you would need to downsize the FSCommander window and place it somewhere "on top" of FSX, toggling with Alt+Tab. You can select each taxiway that the controller tells you to taxi on, and they will be highlighted on the airport diagram. And of course, your aircraft position is shown as well, as long as FSCommander is connected to your FlightSim. But again, I can't really judge how handy it will be in a single monitor setup, I'm afraid.
  7. You can also give FlightSimCommander a try. Works fine for taxiways, and it's cheaper than EFB. http://en.shop.aeros...anguage=english
  8. It's installed along with your aircraft. In Windows, click Start > Programs > PMDG Simulations > PMDG 737NGX. You'll find all NGX-related documentation there. The FCOMs (Flight Crew Operations Manuals) are simply titled "Operating Manual" (Vol. 1 and Vol. 2) in the menu.
  9. I second you should get FS2Crew. However, with OpusFSX having entered the scene, I wouldn't go for EZCA any more. I used it before and dumped it now. Opus gives you the same comprehensive camera tools which make setting up your own views really easy, so you can navigate the VC exactly the way YOU like it. Plus, on top of that, Opus gives you real world weather. (Actually, it's mainly a Weather engine. The camera stuff is a free goodie.)
  10. You can change them anytime while in flight. What do you need 5 destinations for?
  11. Simply enter the ICAO code of your destination airport into the "Destination ICAO" box of the Weather Options page. That's it! When you open the Live Weather Report from the Addons menu in FSX, you will have the option to select your destination airport. Really easy.
  12. I also use OpusFSX Live Weather Engine. For long flights, I don't plan the arrival procedure right from the start, but wait until approx. 20 miles from my Top of Descent. Opus allows entering destination and alternate airports, and you can check the corresponding METAR reports from within FSX. A simple alternative would be to enter "METAR KJFK" in Google and get the Metar from there. Of course, this only makes sense if you're using real world weather in FSX.
  13. Wow, I am soooo looking forward to this! Thank you, Bryan, for tackling the non-normals! Best regards, Stefan
  14. Thanks. I have read abut this too. I was just wondering... So basically, the F/O is running all the tests and considers them passed no matter what?
  15. Don't want to hijack this thread, but thought it might fit here. Does anyone know how FS2Crew responds to failures? Or if it does notice them at all? I was just wondering what happens, if the F/O runs his preflight checks and there's a failure of any kind because I switched on Service Based Failures in the NGX. Will he notice? Thanks in advance, Stefan
  16. Experienced the same issue, but checking this box did the trick for me. Thanks a lot! It's such a relief to have this transponder stuff done by your FS2Crew F/O during the rwy entry proc.
  17. The CD version distributed by Aerosoft seems to be SP1b. So, I'd recommend downloading and installing "737 -800/900 NGX Base Package SP1c" from PMDG's website. The "737 -600/700 NGX Expansion" is a different story. This adds the -600 and -700 and needs to be purchased separately (however, it won't run without the 800/900 SP1c being installed before). I hope this clarifies the concerns by the thread opener a bit. Best regards, Stefan
  18. Absolutely go for it! I couldn't do without it any more.
  19. You certainly don't "need" it. But I think you would miss something really great! I got it the day it came out and I haven't flown anything but the 600 ever since. It's just perfect!
  20. Do you enter a destination airport before trying to enter CRZ Level? If you only enter a SID, then the FMC probably takes the end of the SID as the end of the route.
  21. Mel, Do you happen to use EZDok? If so, make sure to run EZCA Config whenever you install/reinstall an aircraft. Hope this helps, Stefan
  22. I recently did a fresh install and asked the same question The recommended procedure (that worked for my anyway) was: 1. 8/900 Base Pack 2. 8/900 SP1c (because the service pack is the prerequisite for installing the 6/700) 3. 6/700 Extension 4. 6/700 SP1c
  23. Hi Bryan, I just completed two flights with my OS language switched back to German (speech recognition still set to EN-US), and "my" Flight Officer seems to have captured my speech perfectly. Great stuff, really! Best regards, Stefan
