  1. Hi guys, I've got a strange problem with my right propeller. After I have started up the left engine and look out the right window in order to check if the right propeller is unfeathered, the propeller is rotating although the engine is not started yet. And it can't be windmilling either, because from an outside view, the propeller does not move. Now, it's pretty hard to check the feathered/unfeathered state of a rotating propeller. Has anyone encountered this and can provide some hints on how to solve this? Thanks in advance, Stefan
  2. You are right :-) Although the soft mute key is assigned to Prop Sync on/off, pressing the key actually doesn't flip the switch on the overhead panel. Great! Thanks and best regards, Stefan
  3. Hi guys, I wonder if any of you is flying online on IVAO/VATSIM in the J41. If so, how do you "soft mute" FS2Crew while talking to ATC? I understand that the SM button is assigned to "Propeller Sync on/off", and I doubt that it's a good idea to turn Prop Sync on and off whenever speaking to the controller... Any ideas? Thanks, Stefan
  4. Only now did I realize that with version 2.2, the soft mute key is assigned to the Prop Sync even in the J41. So, I move over to the J41 forum ;-) Thanks
  5. Hi Bryan, hi fellow simmers, I think I have a problem here ;-) I bought the PMDG J41 plus FS2Crew yesterday. Since I also have Emergency NGX installed, I can't really use my assigned Soft Mute key for the J41, because this would toggle Propeller Sync. Obviously, I assigned my Teamspeak PTT key for soft muting FS2Crew. The default keys left and right CTRL are not an option, unfortunately, because I need to use the CTRL key for OpusFSX, AES, GSX and PROATCX, so I can't use this as a PTT key without constantly flooding the IVAO frequency with mic clicks. Maybe there's an obvious solution that I'm just too thick to figure out... Do you habe any ideas how to solve Thanks a lot and best regards, Stefan
  6. You won't regret it! I love the 600, in fact, I haven't flown anything else since it was released. It's big fun to fly!
  7. Are you sure about this one: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=12 ? Do you have Hyper Threading set to On or Off in your BIOS? I'm running an i7 too, with HT On, and my affinity mask value is 84.
  8. Thanks Bryan! And I'm looking forward to your Airbus version
  9. Hi Bryan, I just downloaded and installed 2.3E, and instead of "PREFLIGHT" it now says "AIRBUS TEST" after opening the FS2Crew Main Window. Is it a bug or a feature? :Just Kidding: Best regards, Stefan
  10. I don't use EZDok (any more), but I noticed that the mouse stops working if you zoom out too far. Try a higher zoom value for this specific view.
  11. According to Bryan, it should be a piece of cake. I can't help you with Win 8 though, I use Win 7 Pro.
  12. You need to switch your Windows language to English US first, then do the speech training, then you can switch back to Spanish Windows again (leaving the speech recognition language set to English US). All described in the FS2Crew manual, by the way
  13. And if you go for FSX + SP1 + SP2, make sure to launch FSX at least once, before installing the next pack. This will save you loads of trouble. 1. Install FSX. Launch FSX, and when fully loaded, exit FSX. 2. Install SP1. Launch FSX, and when fully loaded, exit FSX. 3. Install SP2.
  14. Hi Bryan, Thanks for your response. But where does the PFD get its value from then? This sounds as if there were two different sources for the pressure readouts. (I'm just trying to understand...) Best regards, Stefan
  15. Sorry for bringing up this "old" topic again. But I'm having the same issue. I always press the B-key when the F/O calls Transition Level during descent, and yet the F/O reads the altimeter setting wrong by 1 unit (e.g. 1010 instead of the 1011 displayed in the PFD). I'm using OpusFSX for weather, but if you say that FS2Crew reads the QNH from FSX, shouldn't the F/O call always match the value on the PFD as long as I press B? Opus weather reports 1011, IVAO Metar reports 1011, PFD displays 1011, but F/O says 1010. Not a big thing, I'm just curious whether there might be a fix. Thanks and best regards, Stefan
  16. You mean the "Installed Aircraft Variants" list is empty?
  17. To be honest, I don't see anything wrong in your videos. Isn't this simply a sort-of "stroboscope" effect that is absolutely normal and looks exactly like this in real life? You know, that effect resulting from the eye being unable to "process" more than a certain number of pictures per second?
  18. I would definitely go for OpusFSX for weather! The weather engine is the best you can get! Plus you get a camera tool which is absolutely great (I dumped EZdok for it). However, it comes without textures and uses whatever textures are installed in FSX. There's a beautiful free texture set, called "HDEv2". This is what I use in combination with OpusFSX and will never look back (had REX before).
  19. On the other hand: If VATSIM controllers learn the FS2Crew grammar, they can literally "talk you down" now.
  20. What happens if you leave the right side blank and just enter UP16 UN615 on the left? What appears next to UP16 then? When I enter my route, I just enter the first fix (end of sid) and then only the airways on the left. The FMC puts in the intersections between airways automatically. Works perfectly fine.
  21. Hi Charles, I might be wrong, but to me your screenshot looks as if you were "sitting" too far to the right and as if your "head" was turned slightly to the left. Have you tried moving a bit to the left on the x-axis and "straighten" your line of sight? Best regards, Stefan
  22. The FSX internal flight planner is basically useless  I use http://www.vatroute.net/ for the routing. Then take the first and last waypont of the vatroute flight plan as the SID and STAR fixes. For the exact SID, you only need to know the active runway of your departure airport at the time you take off (mostly based on wind direction). If you enter the takeoff runway in the CDU of the NGX, the list of available SIDs will automatically be filtered to display only those applicable to the selected runway. Search for the one that matches your first FIX of the route, and select this one. Same for STAR at your destination. For weather, I use OpusFSX, which is the best weather engine I've ever seen. You will get real-world (and real-time) wind data both for lower and upper airspace and can enter them into the CDU as required. And it even features a great camera control which makes navigating the virtual cockpit a piece of cake. Hope this helps, Stefan
  23. Well, I'd suggest installing SP2 for FSX!
  24. The only 'distance' setting you can change is the 'straight line' distance. You can also change the turn direction and the angle. The total distance will be calculated based on these values.
  25. Hi Michael, You might have missed a step here. You say you "downloaded and installed the English language pack". But after that, did you actually change the OS language to 'English US' in Vistalizator by selecting "English" from the "Installed languages" list and then clicking "Change language"? It is definitely possible to have the speech recognition language set to 'English - US' whilst having the OS language set to German. Here's my setup: If I remember correctly (it's been quite a while), these were the steps: - Install Vistalizator - Install English language pack for your OS version - Change OS language to English via Vistalizator (I used the 'Express' option) - Change Windows speech recognition language to 'English - US' - Train the speech recognition - Change OS language back to German via Vistalizator - Doublecheck that Windows speech recognition language is set to 'English - US' Hope this helps, Stefan
