I have it for the xbox. Truly Amazing game. I've done a few missions and then decided to go exploring in Blaine County. I followed a crop dusting plane around until it landed and then stole it. There is no virtual cockpit view as such, but you can fly with a view behind the prop. Can't wait to find out what other planes they have. This game is a must buy for everyone and I'm sure it will keep me entertained for a long while.

I think you get an autorudder effect when you fly in mouse mode? It's not very good doing any kind of aerobatics or extreme manoeuvres, but if you are just sight seeing it actually works very well. I quite often just use the mouse to fly when i'm only firing up Flight for a quick go and can't be bothered to plug my joystick in.

Those 2 landing challenges are what completely changed my opinion on Flight. More of that will keep me happy :)

What is missing in 'Flight', which i hope MS will add in the final release is the animated shoreline with waves. At the moment it looks very dull and lifeless, almost like a drawing.

Why does microsoft broadcast that i'm playing it through my gamertag, which is available for anyone to see if they know what my tag name is? (The same as they do for games you play on the xbox)

Right, so i didn't fall asleep honest. But... it apears there is a limit. I tried to refuel at 25% and it put me back to around 300 miles out. So basically there is no way out, i am lost! I might try a heading of 305 to see if that works. Or is it 325 degrees?

You are right, it doesn't work in the air. You can add fuel using the hanger in the map menu while airbourne though.

With the 'F' button of course ;)

ok, got bored of waiting for an answer. Fsau wasn't far off. I reckon about 23 hours and 40 minutes with a cruising speed of eighty kts. A distance of approximately 2129 nautical miles to KLAX. Not forgetting the 10 knot tail wind of course!Might give it a try. I'll let you know what I find, unless I forget to top up the fuel and end up ditching somewhere in the pacific...Edit: why can't i write 'eighty' in numbers without it showing a smiley?

Assuming I could fill the tank up every 300 NM or so, how long would it take to reach the west coast of the US? Taking off from say....Hilo International Airport as an example.

I think the negativety is not from what has been lost, but more from disappointment for what Flight appears to be as opposed to what it could have been. I can almost guarantee that everyone on this forum wanted MS Flight to be another simulator, and because at first glance it doesn't appear like this is the case, then comes the dissapointment/negativety.You are right though, we should all keep an open mind. For anyone that hasn't seen it yet, I think MS have done a really good job with the autogen in Flight. Forests absolutely packed full of trees, and without the horrible popping up out of nowhere you get in fsx. Thats even on a fairly modest computer... So i've heard :wink:FSX would be awesome with Flight's autogen/performance.

Other than FSX / FS9. The only games i've spent any real time playing are from the Battlefield series. BF2, BFBC2 and more recently BF3. I never played through the single player campaigns, just multiplayer online. They are good for just jumping in and out of if you fancy playing a few maps. I always prefered the battlefield series over Call of Duty because they had vehicles you could fly/drive.

I don't see the problem with this. If there is money to made by the developers then why not? I'm sure they will get a mention in the credits somewhere and it's not like 'little jimmy' (some kid) will care if it's a PMDG plane or an ORBX island anyway. The people that do care are the simmers and they will know who made that particular plane/scenery for sure. Surely the devs would just be making a version for MS Flight so why does it matter that they sign this over to microsoft? They would still have their brand and be making add ons for other simulators wouldn't they?
