  1. Try the mustang from flight oneSent from my iPhone using TapatalkJB
  2. The small sacrafice I made to get accurate atis, is to use the standard depiction mode. I don't get the low frame rate stuttering that bad, since I run AS2012 on a networked computer.Tried ASA,ASE, REX, FSMETEO and FSX Weather Injection and so far AS2012 in standard depiction mode is the most accurate generator I have used.JB
  3. Yeah, I know what your saying. I just spent the last two hours playing with a new FDE from Bstolle for the Flight Replicas Supercub package. Tring to get it in and out of Clam Harbour with the ORBX Orcas package. What a blast. Tried it with all different loads. Even moved the CG way back and it seemed to perform as expected. Couldn't do that in Real Life.. Would be hard enough to find someone to rent a nice 200k Super Cub and allow me to hammer on it.Anyway, sending you a PM. Was curious if you are interested in something fun.JB
  4. She spins just fine and correction leadin for precision spins to a heading is nice and gradual. Thanks againJB
  5. It's hard to beieve what people say on the forums. Just consider that most people here fly the sim because, for one reason or another, they can't, don't want to, or haven't flown in RL. Plus you have to ask yourself... Why would someone who can curently fly in RL, fly on FS? Everyone might have their own reason. Reagrdless, it's probably better off to not gloat about RL flying here and just be as helpfull as one can be. Zach, this is not directed towards you, but more just a general statement.JB
  6. I have ASE, AS2012 and Rex.I use Rex for all my textures, except for all the cloud textures, which I use as2012 for and for weather generation. I also replace the cirrus_overcast03 file with the original from default FSX so I can get the indication of the low visibility back.JB
  7. Yeah, the new installer worked and it must have the new FDE as it's a blast to fly now.JB
  8. Thanks Bernt. I actually sent Mike at FR an email with my purchase info from F1 and he just sent me a link to the latest version. I appreciate it. I guess the F1 version still for download does not include your FDE update.JB
  9. Hey Bernt.I see you did a FDE for the Flight replicas Pa18. Personally, I love the aircraft 3d model, but the FDE that came with it was a show stopper for me.Where can I find your modified FDE for the Flight Replicas PA18?JB
  10. Nice Bernt. Thank for your contribution. Hows the 208 coming?Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkJB
  11. Nevermind, I answered my own question...If I read this thread correctly http://www.pprune.or...hp/t-54016.html then it's my understanding that the IRS in the 73 does not update the raw positional data, but infact the FMC is constantly remembering the IRS drift error based off of the composite nav data. And lets say you lose the GPS and ground nav capability, then the FMC will compute from the Raw average of the two IRS, then factor in the last known IRS position error to come up with a mean aircraft position. So correct me if I'm wrong... The IRS are not updating, but the FMC is updating it's adjusted pos error for correction to the two IRS.Lemme know if this assumption is correct... Your at cruise and IRS drift is indicating hypothetically 25 miles off track. Then you lose GPS and nav radios. And your sole Nav data is now from the IRS. You might expect the aircraft position to jump to 25 miles off track. But since the FMC knew the drift error before you lost the other nav systems, you would not see a shift of aircraft position when the IRS becomes the only nav system.Interesting. Seems more redundant this way.JB
  12. Just FYI.Bernt Stolle has done some amazing FDE work on the latest Carenado aircraft. For those of you who have the 185, you can find his optional modifications here.... http://www.bushpound...t/downloads.phpAnd for those that have the 208, he is rebuilding the FDE for that with the help of an ex 208 driver. See the thread here....http://z13.invisionf...p?showtopic=868JB
  13. Now what about ETOPS certification? Once out of range of navaids and you lose your GPS, then you are completely reliant on the inertial system. Is there no way to manually update the IRS/INS position before transitioning out of range from ground based navaids?JB
  14. Excellent, then I stand corrected. So on the 73, the IRS/INS will continue to drift until you do a ground realign reagrdless of composite data from the GPS/Radios? JB
  15. LOL, see, I told ya he's good... Even quick ta boot. Thanks Andrea.JB
  16. I'm really not 100%, but it would be variable depending on many conditions I believe. So you can't say there is one consistent drift rate. Although, I am sure that there is an acceptable range of drift given a range of conditions and this would be determined when the INS/IRS goes through evaluation and certification.Daviersoft, or Andrea is a killer technician. Maybe he knows more about this.Edit...In regards to your test of 10 hours... If you wanna check the drift rate of just the IRS/INS, you need to disable the auto update I believe for the GPS and the Radio Navs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but under conditions where the system is getting reliable GPS and or Radio Nav signal, the INS/IRS will be updating its position based on the other two systems.JB
  17. Well your lucky, I guess. I have seen it many times and I have a little less than half the time 121 than you do. Not to mention I don't even fly Commercialy anymore. If the gum, coffee, earplugs and the other voodoo doesn't work. Then you might burst the poor kids eardrums. Not a good decision IMHO, especially from a PIC.But we are still freinds, right?:)JB
  18. Cummon Spin.I'm sure you have seen or heard of this circumstance. It's actually pretty common, relatively speaking. And if you haven't experienced this, you might be hard pressed to find the answer on google.JB
  19. So a baby in coach sitting on it's moms lap is crying hystarically. The Cabin Crew has now informed you five times that the baby can't equalize. Your still climbing and you have more than enough room in differential cabin pressure. What do you do?JB
  20. Matt, I'm not refering to simland. I refering to real world experience. But nevertheless, I do appreciate your oppinion. :)
  21. I have seen it done more times than not while jumpseating all over the states. Intervening, or overiding the AT, whether it be by disengaging or manually moving the levers while still engaged is a common practice. I can't speak from experience as I don't have any time in anything larger than a 70 seat Regional Jet, but like I said, I have seen it practiced in many different type airliners and from 3 of the largest US carriers and this goes from the early 73's to the late 74's.Contrary to popular belief, most pilots prefer to handfly durring the transitional and critical portions of the flight. It usually results in a smoother and more enjoyable experience for the passengers. And isn't that what it's all about..... Making sure your company gets loyal passengers? So I take it your Flying 73's for a part 121 carrier?Regarding the Cabin rate......So you have never heard of or seen a flight crew manualy overide the cabin climb or descent rate for abnormal conditions? Your kidding right?JB
  22. Since Nvidia inspector will oc the gpu on the fly you will see it's effect immediately in fsx. So it's easy to see if a particular fsx session will benefit from a gpu overclock. For my system I will see an increase in performance with something like a carenado aircraft when I oc the gpu. On the otherside, a gpu oc with the NGX will not increase performance as in that session I am bottlenecked at the CPU.FYIJBSent from my iPhone using TapatalkJB
  23. That's a tremendous compliment to Carenado.JBSent from my iPhone using TapatalkJB
  24. The Cub is an awsome addon. Everything is perfect really and if you enjoy flyng slow, doing short field landings and some floatplane fun, then this will be right up your alley. For me, I don't fly it too much anymore as it's just soo Slow. So I fly their Warbirds :)Not sure about the Bus as I am waiting for FSlabs 320 series for my Bus purchase.JB
