No, I am currently NOT using GEX. But if it is the go to texture add-on, I will be soon. :) I just don't like the "bland-ness" (if that is even a word... :() I am seeing ATM in FSX. I am not sure how much I need accurate roads and what not, but I'll take a look at UTX as well then. I'll have to add the FSGenesis Landclass as well. That seems like a great addition. I am happy to know I DID manage to pick up the go to Mesh. :( So I am seeing then I need to get at least one more thing with GEX and maybe then UTX. Should that complete the ''look'' I am wanting in the sim then?Oh.. I am seeing there are a few GEX products available... Do these cover world wide if you get all seven? I see there is a ''pro'' verison for FS 2004 that covers the globe... Wonder if they have an FSX Pro versoin. :PFor Clouds and such I should be looking at REX then as well correct? Hello Everyone.If you take a look around, there are, apparently, quite a few land textrue and mesh add-on's you can get. Currently I use FSGenesis North America West, East, Canada, Mexico and World. Are there better ones out there? I mean ones which may replace the textures of the actual ground to ''look better'' vs just the terrain mesh? If I understand it right, the mesh only adds to the points in elevation? I've looked at some of the suggestions in the forums like the GEX pages, the REX pages and not only do the sky's look GREAT, but the ground looks wonderful as well. My sim doesn't look like that... :) I'm wondering what I am missing.Currently my PC basics is as follows...32b Windows 7Quad Core Q6600 2.6GGforce GTX 550 TI4G of DDR 3 Ram5500 rpm 500g DriveIf there is some things I should be looking at, please give me a heads up. Thanks in advance!EDIT: I guess I am kinda looking for an all in one type package. I don't particularly want to buy 100 different items to get a world texture set, I would prefer one package, regardless of overall cost.

Hello All!I just wanted to say, THANK YOU for the suggestion of the B-17. I LOVE it. Here we are today on a training flight outside of Seattle, odd location, yes... ITS SECRET! :PI'll be getting a few others I have my eye on as well.. .the C-130 and a B-24 Liberator I saw from another company (?) I think it was... Anyway, thanks a lot guys, any other great WWII Warbird planes I should be looking at?Randy

That is just pretty sick... EXCELLENT Job. :) I'd like to see it with the normal in game sounds of aircraft since, well, I don't own that one. :P

Thanks Zach. I take it there is nothing in the AVSim library then? I haven't found a C-5 or even a C-17 either... Seems I can't find any of the bigger war planes for FSX in the library.

Hey Guys,I've been looking through the file library for a solid B17. When I search FSX Aircraft, I get nothing for any type of search related to a B17... are there none available in the library for FSX?Just wondering, thanks all.Actually I can't seem to find any type of B plane, no B-24, no B-52... Am I searching wrong or....

Wow, I really like that Cessna Corvalis... I haven't seen that yet... very nice. I am betting rather pricey tho...I couldn't find any pricing info for it on Cessna's site. Does it qualify as a sport plane or more? You have garnered my interest! :)EDIT.. Actually now that I see a good look at the cockpit, I am guessing a sport license wouldn't suffice... there are settings for over 14k...

So, I went out today and got the FSX Gold box to replace my lost FSX... After adding the FSGenesis terrain add on, all scenery sliders at about 80% full, and flying around for a while... I have to say I am pretty torn atm between FSX and Flight. Flight is smooth and runs great. However, the scenery is FAR lacking than in FSX. The ground and trees look better in FSX, but in Flight, everything else looks better... including the aircraft as a whole. Colors are a bit more bland in FSX even on 32bit color, and pop more in Flight. I think the clouds look better too in FSX than they do in Flight.. Anyway, that's just a quick run down... I'll get more detailed in a couple days I think.... Oh, and Frame Rate is FAR superior in Flight... I run about 15fps in FSX... do able, but not great.

Wow, I have never even heard of ORBX. I am assuming (since I looked around and couldn't really find it quick...) that it is for FSX? That is some stunning stuff!! I've been debating on wheather Flight is worth sticking with or if I should re-buy FSX (can't find my copy.. :() or wait and see what Flight does. I have to admit, that scenery is just drop dead... It really is a tough call. The upcoming DLC Alaska looks great, but still, the cities look bland, compared to some of those ORBX airports and such...Such a dilema...

Where did you find this file, exactly, if you don't mind me asking... I can't see it in the Flight folder..

Yea, I have never had this happen, generally, all passengers have been happy thus far. :)
