  1. Thanks for the wonderful story, and the challenge you took on, I mean NEW to XP and flying the DC6. I was mind numbed just reading the stuff you wrote down, I am sure you missed a lot more details, can't imagine what flying this single handed after we learn it include (safely betting on lots of RTFM). If we didn't already have respect for those aviators of the past, sim acft with such attention to detail will quickly put our magenta-following heads back in their right places. Cheers!!
  2. We had once landed (R/W) on 28R at SFO and were holding short of 28L when a CPA 744 took off on 28L. I was lucky enuf to be on the left side and the rotation happened right outside my window. I have been a fan of the Queen long since I was a kid, and she was the one who captured my imagination as a kid, and my interest in aviation, but that day was the first time I noticed how the 4 engines peeled the reluctant heavy weight off the pavement into the air. You could feel the quad thrust, the power, the weight...what a sight to behold. The rotation picture of the PMDG 744F brought back those memories, the majestic Queen beginning her long journey. Many great acft have come and gone, and she will too some day, but nobody is going to steal the Queen's title from her. Great Pictures...definitely looking forward to this one.
  3. Very interesting read on the NGS on wiki, I believe under inerting systems. That would certainly be a reason why they would reduce the Queen. At SFO, you still see the queen coming in from Asia in the evening, but in LAX, you just see the A380s, and a few 74s. Would indeed be sad when the day comes when we have to go to a museum to see her.
  4. Man, that sound...even on a you tube video, that was exhilirating...I will look forward to the day I can turn up the volume on the sim and watch and hear it cruise, though I don't believe I can exactly be twiddling my thumbs. Kyle, you may have to go GoPro on this bird soon man, you won't have time to capture or set anything up
  5. Indeed, very informative and interesting. Not only can these guys fit a million parts together so that we can fly on it and complain about discomfort without any realization into the work that goes in, they can also remove/replace pieces of it, and put it back together without so much as a scratch on it for the common man's eye!! thx for sharing!!
  6. Since nobody said this and since the mills are spinning at their max, let me add to the pile.. It's the Chinook guys/gals...they are branching out to rotors, still boeing though (ducks for cover, sits back, popcorn out....)
  7. You guys release a major update, give it for free, and then say "thank you for your patience". No wonder ppl think they are entitled :Just Kidding: Kidding aside, Thank you for the free update. Job well done guys!! Time to go :p0502:
  8. Congratulations AVSIM :Applause:... here's to many more 18s :drinks:
  9. That just did it. I updated FSUIPC to the latest while at it. I just have to figure out what else was on FSUIPC, mostly throttle settings, which I will happily put them back as and when I fly the acft. Thank you very much for the fix. Cheers. PS. How does one add the resolved badge?
  10. that's what I also wanted to know. PFPX showed under weight, but I didn't understand it at that time. But acft frequently make empty flights, I don't think they fill it with fuel for balancing weight. There is a video in these forum showing a really short take off run in the T7, such things are possible only with light weight isn't it. I did want to know if the CG was responsible for the nose down attitude though, that's why I posted that pic
  11. Rgr, will try deleting fsuipc.ini. FD was off because at that point I was trying to manually fly the plane, as I was all out of options, good eye though. Temp was pretty normal, that's what I first checked. Besides, a test flight in KSFO region also came up with the same results.
  12. I am not sure what the throttle override is, so I won't be able to tell you what that would be. Craig, I too believe it is being caused by FSUIPC but even when I tried with fsx controls it still had issues. I will check your post and try this again with direct mapping. I use a custom throttle and FSUIPC was recommended, anyways. Funny thing is, only the previous day I made a successful flight from LSGG-OMDB without any issues...so I am really puzzled...oh well.
  13. I was trying to depart OMDB -> VHHH with the following load, (pic below) (all in lbs). That's ramp, so GW was about 460.0 at T/O. The acft climbs upto 4000ft with lots of power, but loses power after it. I have tried it with ASN on network , on local, FS Real WX Lite and even default FSX weather. I have tried almost 10 times without much climbing thru more than 9000ft. Acft doesn't accelerate beyond 220kts and attains a nose down attitude. I have had this problem previously with NGX, but for the love of God can't figure out what I did to fix it. I tried setting throttles through FSUIPC, that's my default, but I also tried removing it to add it to default FSX Controls. The EICAS shows engine at 99% power, but it won't climb or accelerate beyond 220 or there abouts. Any suggestions recommendations or even a point to a "look here" thread most appreciated. In my defense, I did try searching for it, most likely search criteria didn't match (assuming this has been answered b4). Cheers!! PS (does anybody get the on taxiway message from RAAS when on 30L?)
  14. Nah, it's just Glass Cockpit with Wood Trim...looks brilliant though...I wish the 172 I fly looked anything close like that
