Support for New Planes
DCAPilot replied to HarryS's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
I'd like to add the Redwing L1049G for MSFS to the list of requests. -
Most of the aircraft I have used in several sims use left click and cycle through the settings. To be honest I can't remember encountering a right click for a long time and they only use is on some switches so it's not consistent. I've added Right Click, Mouse Wheel Click, and try them all to my list!

Right click. Never thought of that. Usually left click cycles through the settings. Just downloaded it so I hope it's current. Got it from Just flight. The right click is never mentioned in the manual and probably should be. Hmm, I was born in Boulder, Co. Got it. Thanks.

I have chocks in, all three generators off, parking brakes on, the GPU image on the Options panel shows a green check mark in the upper left corner. However, I can not get the EXT Power switch to go into the ext power switch position. It is in normal when loaded and if I click it then moves to Low Temp Start. No amount of clicking will get it to EXT power. Any ideas on what's wrong. I've gone through the posts here and the manual which simply says EXT Power on, Parking Brake on,Gens off and the plane meets all those criteria. Thanks.

Trying to get Demo working
DCAPilot replied to DCAPilot's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
I didn't touch the perms so who knows. I manually added the entry and it's running now - or was until I ran out of tries. Thanks for the info on the initialization. -
Trying to get Demo working
DCAPilot replied to DCAPilot's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
I did a normal install and only copied files later when it did not work and that was based on some hints from posts in this forum. The dl file did not get added to P3D dll.xml file. I added it manually and it works now. Thanks. Okay. Now it thinks it's the first start again so I'll redo the setup but a least it's there now. -
I am running 2.9.30 demo and want to use it with P3Dv5. I installed it as Administrator, let it put it in the default location, started it and done the intitial setup. P3D runs as admin as does MCE. I start P3D, the start MCE with the desktop icon. MCE sits there and tries to connect but never does. I have no entry in the P3D add-ons menu for MCE nor is it listed in the add-ons list in the Options menu of P3D. I've added exclusions for the MCE and P3D exe to my antivirus, I've made sure the 64 bit fsinsider dll is installed and copied the files from MCE dlls x64 in the zip file to the P3D directory. Any ideas on why MCE refuses to connect? Thanks.

I agree - Some of the best money I ever spent! Welcome to the world of Radar Contact which gives FS a whole new dimension and life.

Is FS set up with the plane and a gate, runway, or somewhere and the simulator not paused?

A couple of Requests/suggestions
DCAPilot replied to DCAPilot's topic in Radar Contact Support Forum
Well, 5-10 seconds is a little short. I've flown Atlanta, Dallas, New York, Chicago and some others and was given a little more time than that. I do use Otto to do comms. However, this is a simulator so it doesn't always respond like the real thing and it would be nice to have the ability to get more time if we don't want to get that real <G>. It would be like the altitude deviation that we can adjust. Prerecorded is off and I fly at 1X also. -
A couple of Requests/suggestions

Well, I haven't found it yet <G>. While flying enroute I tried the other menus and never found it. -
1. Would it be possible to add the ability to ask the controller for the altimeter. I know we can go off-channel for weather but A) that isn't always the same as the controller uses and :( it's a lot to listen to when all I want is the altimeter. I've had several cases where the altimter changes drastically and I show I'm OK on altitude but he's screaming I'm not. When he finally gives me the altimeter it's a change of 500 feet or more. This also happens when resuming a flight. For some reason the altimiter doesn't match his and he's upset. This function should be accessible from about any phase - departure, enroute, approach.2. Is there a way to change how long the controller waits until he comes back again telling me to change frequency. It seems like less than 10 seconds delay and he's complaining I haven't changed yet. Well, no - in some cases Michelle of IYP didn't do what I told her, in others I'm working on it <G>!Maybe we need the ability to tell the controller - I'm busy flying and will get to it and he backs off for a while <G>.Thanks.

Thanks. I'm letting the copilot handle the radios but this is good to know.

Probably a silly question but how do you know you have outstanding ACKs to ATC? Is it on the display?

Why does rc not know the rwy in use
DCAPilot replied to flightsimmer747's topic in Radar Contact Support Forum
ASE works fine here. I can't remember what option it is - maybe DWC - but I think I have that on and it's working so far. -
Strange! FF (latest version de jour since it says no updates) still won't show a cursor in the reply box so I'm using IE8. Oh, well. Maybe it will work on the next update.
-
No, that is available only at certain phases of the flight but not enroute. From my readings of the manual I thought so to but closer reading showed it wasn't and when I went throught the menus while actually in flight during cruise phase with center it's not there. I don't like the B key either as it's specific to the US. I've been setting it manually or having Michelle in IYP do it now. My concern is that when I get a new controller I'm used to being given the altimeter and I can't ask for it. I've had some instances as I explained that it would have been nice to be able to check it.Someone suggested the Weather check option but what weather is used for that - a station close to my location or actual weather at my altitude and postiton? Would the altimeter be the same as the controller sees?A request for the next version - add the option to ask the controller for the altimeter at any time. Thanks - Love RC4!

Is there a way to ask RC4.3 for the altimeter setting? I've noticed that many times when I get handed off the new controller does not give me the altimeter check until some time later. I'm assuming RC4 figures that if the new controller's altimeter is the same as the old why give it. However, there are situations where I need to ask for the altimeter to verify my setting. Last night I loaded a saved rcd flight (I'm on a 8-9 hour flight with a DC-4). Unfortunately, when I loaded the flight the altimeter the controller was using was much different than what the flight had saved. I didn't know that so I adjusted the altitude to get to my assigned and got yelled at. Eventually the controller gave me the altimeter setting and I realized I was 400 feet too high.Or can I assume that if I set the altimeter with the B key that it will be the same value the controller has? Thanks. I'm using RC4 with IYP and loving it! ATC like it was in real life!

Are you using FireFox? I've found that with FF 3.6.3 I have NO cursor in the box where you type a reply. I end up using IE to answer posts (like this <G>).

The only add-ons I have (other than scenery and a/c) are IYP and RC and both work well together. For IYP it has to be setup to handle an aircraft if it's not stock or one of the 70 or so the author makes the changes. However, he is very responsive and usually adds new a/c quickly if you post in the IYP forum and ask for it. I really can't think of any changes needed to make IYP work better with RC4. The times I've used it things just worked.

Same here. I've flown FS since 5.1 and used to fly in real life. I finally got RC4 about a month ago and love it! No more zig-zags to final, no more being forgotten several miles out. It is very real.Another add-on you might look at is It's Your Plane. It allows voice commands for almost everything and interfaces to RC very nicely.
