  1. Are you running any Addons that could potentially simulate engine failures such as FSPassengers or FSCaptain?
  2. Thanks for the DX9 tweak. I think it looks a lot better and I didn't notice any hit on performance.
  3. I stand corrected. I heard and knew about not having to purchase and download CS2. I never know the story behind it. I suppose if Adobe had an issue with people downloading it who hadn't purchased it, they'd have done something about it.
  4. Adobe Photoshop CS2 is freeware now. It is a much earlier version of the current version of CS6. It has layers and all that other good stuff.
  5. Yup, a DC 9-32 in ValuJet Flight 592. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ValuJet_Flight_592 Another swamp crash was Eastern Flight 401, an L-1011 back in 1972. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Air_Lines_Flight_401
  6. Plus Aerosoft is cheaper. That was my selling point and I like their other products. Call it brand loyalty.
  7. Yeah, this is OT. I don't know who Doug Thompson is but I like the guy already. I can't tell you how much it annoys me when on VATSIM you hear a vPilot have problems with following instructions because of their inability to fly without the FMC.
  8. What if you were to join the session in another aircraft and then switch to the PMDG.
  9. Create a polygon using Exclude Airport Background, then if you want, use another polygon to flatten the airport and another for the landclass. Essentially what you're doing is removing the old airport's flatness and replacing it.
  10. I use it. I don't know anout PMDG products, but I use it on all of my planes; default, free and paywares. It allows you to configure it to be plane specific, i.e. a B744 will have different procedures than a DHC6 Twotter. There has been talk of an update but that was a while ago but it is still worth it in its current version.
  11. Yeah, I thought that too when I was having the problems. I know about starting older engines, though not necessarily airplane engines and how you have to give a little juice to keep them alive until the engine warmed up.The reason for my fix was more convenience than performance. I would have to start the engines every time I came to a complete stop when I would use the Ground Handling gauge (auto taxi speed). I chuckled every time the engines died and thought, "what must the passengers be thinking every time the plane comes to a stop, the engines die. Exactly would not instill confidence in me in the plane." It would be neat if FS could simulate a cold engine running hard (wanting to die) and is more stable as it warms up.
  12. I did that and that was the fix. Thanks!
  13. I found this old bird, a DH.114 Heron and I am overhauling the aricraft.cfg. Here's my prob. When I start my engines, it fires up right away. If I don't apply any throttle, it'll die. I usually push the throttles to about 10%, the engines will stay alive. I use Ctrl+E to start. And it is a FS9 model on FSX system. 14. The only importing schedules I can think of is if someone else made a schedule, you could import that. There is a dispatch option, you use the "Administrator" to check what flights are at your airport and you can sign-out on the flight you want. FSCap also generate random charters (if you set it up that way) or you can fly to any airport of your choice if you want.I have used time acceleration with no problems. The FO, he'll call out 80kts, V1, and Vr, takes care of the seat belts, reminds you of your lights, flaps, and barometric pressure. If your plane has Vspeeds configured, you'll see them in your Console (which is a gauge.)What I like about FSCap is the fuel and load planning. You can use the FSCap plane's config to figure out how much you need or you can tweak it to more specific numbers. And with a load map, you can configure in which order you want your load stations loaded and the same with your fuel tanks.
  15. I'll have to second that. I use FSCap for all of my flights and I like it. I thought it is worth the money. Like Fenric said, the developer is active in his forums, quick to respond, and is open to suggestions.
