With you there. I haven't purchased a CS plane since the B-52, for the same reason. Plus they still quite haven't figure out how to make add-ons that are not so fps intensive. I don't get me started about the support a la FSDT... I will rather buy the PMDG 777. Anything that comes down the pike from these guys never cease to amaze me. Al.

Hi Happy Flying Beaver. We must have crossed path somewhere in the sky... If you remember a Japanese instructor at King George Airpark, we have a common acquaintance. (We flew together out of CFC) Welcome to the world of Prepar3d. I just purchased the sim a very short while ago. At first, i was very disappointed, a real slide show. I mean my rig can run Rise of flight and DCS maxed out without breaking a sweat. But i read the forum, used Bojote's tweak and i run an external fps lock(30 fps) with the game set to unlimited. And voom! Now i get a very smooth flying experience like i never even came close to have in FSX. Case in point: PMDG's NGX at KSFO (FlightBeam) with Traffic X (Prepar3D upgrade) full blast. Now in all account and from past experience, all these ressources demanding add-ons should virtually (pun intented) bring my rig to a stop. Ah so, not so! I get a fantastic 15-25 fps and that's parked at a gate, wtihout stutter, and all the slides maxed out. But i do keep shadows and light bloom off 'til i find a more "all around" perfect setting. And let's don't forget about the fact that Prepar3d Is owned by people who are actualy interested in improving the platform and are doing it. This is only going to get better. See ya 'round the sky! You are probably right. I de-install and did a fresh re-install, everything seems ok now, thanks! Allan.

Hi. I had to re-install all of my sims on a new rig. When i choose the NGX in free flight, i get a black screen, like i can't see the plane. but if i select flight, i can hear all the sounds like it's working and all but i still get a black screen. i'm a bit stumped. Tx, Allan

Hello. Ok so, i screwed up big time. I have to reinstall a bunch of planes. Now, I have back-up for all of my stuff but does the SP1c contains all the tweaks or do i have to install all the patches that were issue by PMDG? Tx, Al.

Yes he was cleared for 26L, but he never declared an emergency. He first reported problems about 60km from yvr at about 15000 ft. A witness said the plane wobled then nose dived into the road wich indicates a stall. the right wing struck first, hitting some cars at the intercection.

Yeah, i work in the PASCO maintenace building, i was walking out in the parking lot when it happened. That Sephen guy talikng live on CTV? He's a co-worker. The pilot actualy stalled the plane, probably trying to "stretch" it a little more to the runaway. Everyone is scratcing their head cuz you can fly a B100 on one engine. Heck, i had a hard time leaving work to go home...

You are lucky. I was at CFB Comox, we had two CP-140 operational and when one took off, it was gone for like 36 hrs... The rest off the time, booooorrrrrinng.

What i mean is, is it worth going from Vista 32 to 7 32? Cuz i don't want to do a fresh install. I have close to 500 gig of flight sim on my F disk. You name the sim i have it! (yes. all paid for...). I would have to de-install and reinstall all that stuff. Tx FSXman, yes i knew but i wonder if putting FSX in my F drive is slowing it down? Tx all you guys for your inputs. Don't be arrogant. Alot of us are real world pilots. Youre thread was bound to provoque this kind of reaction.It's like buying a Ferrari and asking to replace the engine with a 100hp 4 banger because you feel the car is to powerfull..I guess what people are trying to say is, PMDG has put an inordinate amount of work to produce THE most advance add-on on the market for FSX, and here you are, asking them to spend more precious time to downgrade it to suit your computer. In other words, they are (i am) saying, buy something that is less demanding for your rig, but leave the 737 NGX alone.

I use Extreme FSX PC. It has a function to adjust light/darkness during day/night.

I dumped my fsx cfg file, ran fsx, closed it, then used this http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html. Then i lowered my scenery setting to medium. I have to admit, i have the autogene slider to nil. I don't care, if i fly a passenger jet i aint looking out that much and i dont see much difference at an airport. if i want to fly VFR to look around, i can modifie my setting easely as most add-on small plane are not fps hungry. And this is on a 32bit OS (i'm putting W7 64bit tonight).

Look, i have a 3 years old dual core, and i run 25-30 fps inside vc at a default airport and around 15 fps average at an Aerosoft airport. That's with 20% Ai traffic and scenery at medium. At think it's a good compromise. There must be something wrong with your set-up. And calm down a bit, you come on a bit agressive here, that will not help anything. This add-on is a HUGE step forward wich uses a FS platform that was never really well designed to begin with. I hope you can sort this out, you would not want to miss on this awsome product. Al.

Downloaded it, installed it, flew it. No prob. Even made a flight plan with the FMC and got the VNAV and LNAV working with no bugs.I got lowish fps but it's my crappy dua core's fault. FPS is waaayyyyyy better then a certain competitor that makes alot off older boeings.All in all a impressive product and would dare say; a new stepping stone for FSX.

I have a small issue to with the manager. It insist on installing 900wl liveries in with the 900.but, What a addon!!!!

Dan, you were right! It IS a corrupt saved flight. Wanna know why? Because i'm lazy, that's why! here's what i think happened : I saved a flight with my J41 at St-Marteen. Both are add ons. I unistalled all my add ons and FSX, and re-installed evrything on my new hard drive (1000 gigs!) but... i copied my saved flight to save time and put them on the freshly installed FSX, thinking nothing of it. Guess it doesn't work that way with addons, as you said!Sooooo, mistery solved! My bad!Al.

Yeah, but all i ever did in the Air Force was turbine! But guess what: i found out i have this problem only with my St-Marteen saved flight! I tried the PMDG cold and dark situation and i can feather and unfeather at will!?!?! So, i guess i will dump my st-Marteen flight and start from scratch and see what happen. So i was doing it right after all!What a strrange bug...Tx again every one for your kind (and fast!) help!

I see a few pilots here!Ok, so, the thing is, when i try to unfeather, nothing moves. I go to outside view and wait, and wait, and wait... nothing. beside that, if i use the cold and dark situation or whatever else, the plane works perfectly. It just peeves me that i can't do that simple procedure in case the power plants were not shut down properly (wich is the case for that saved flight).Anyway, i'll try the other tricks you guys wrote. Tx for all the quick answers.

Aaaaarrrgghhh! Don't work! Can't get the props to unfeather. I followed intructions to the letter. I mean, if can fly in real life, why can't i get the thing to work?Anybody else has the same problem? (so i feel less stupid)
