  1. Last update has the controls much too sensitive and twitchy. If my Piper Tomahawk flew this way I would park it . (C-GTRQ) Don
  2. not able to get into Simmarket or Peter Dowson to re load FSUIPC. Don
  3. Nice modelling and excellent lighting effects. Track IR view from cockpit in 3D very accurate. Flight modelling is off and feels wobbly on take off and landing as the 172 did in its initial iteration. I am sure that with this issue fixed this simulation will be as good as the others. All which I have. I am a real world pilot and own a piper. Can tell the difference. Don
  4. Obviously you never flew out of (ORBX)Stewart B.C.. Just one simple example. Don
  5. I am an FSX user and have EVERY worthwhile Scenery and Addon to enhance my enjoyment, especially VFR flying and Heavy approach to and from airports. I also PONIED UP and paid the $199,00.00 to use Prepar3D for what it is meant to do , enhance my real world flight training. And that said I am grateful ORBX and FSDT as well as Aerosoft and Carenado , and some others have products with licenced dual installation. This enhances my training. Since I fly a Cessna 172 in the real world I would love to see A2A come out with theirs soon since as good as the Caranado Model is the radios are not up to par. That said I will always use FSX for entertainment and follow its successor what ever that is. BUT I appreciate that LM with Prepar3D has a product developed and marketed to guys like me who are willing to pay for and receive a professional training tool. That does "not make me" a hobbyist . I am, but I expect to pay for a commercial product I need and I appreciate it when the company delivers. I have the latest rendition of XPLANE10, but chose to buy the Lockheed Martin License for real world training.. Thus I will always enjoy PMDG for its quality in the right product, and be willing to pay for what I receive. Don
  6. I run all of the above with Rex.My system is Intel® core(M) i7CPU 3.07 GHZ, 12 GB Ram and twin Nviia GTX680 Video cards. My best frame rates were over the united Kingdon, with UK2000 scenery with trees and the airports(all) including London City and airport as well as EGLL etc..Around 16 frames with heavies into London. Elsewhere 30/40 fps and General Aviation between 40=70 FPS. Not so in North America with ORBX. KLAX and the rest. KLAX can give me 26 FPS. And my best performance is with all sliders maxed out. Except sometimes Auto gen down to normal. Since using REX I crash more and my FPS deteriorates to the crash or freeze up. I am strongly considering upgrading my CPU to 4,5 and new RAM and Motherboard to be able to run CYVR when it comes out. I also wondered if I had a hardwared failure and this may still be an issue except P3D and XPLANE 10.5 run much more efficiently. Vcr Three really deteriorates from CYPK. Start at 40 FPS and degrades particualrly if I go to CYVR. Down to 5 PS. If I select another airport such as KLAS my frames and performance comes back up. I am a real world pilot and the Heavies are fine at 14 FPS and up. Light aircraft and a bell 206 need 30 plus FPS to have accurate performance. Over 35 and Carenado 172M flies right on the numbers and flares on landing pretty accurately. I have discovered that if you want visuals and performance your computer must perform. I am hoping that in the next couple of weeks when I go to Memory Express to rebuild my computer - they are able to. Not the case six months ago so I just went for the two 680 cards. My last upgrade worked pretty well until I started using REX. But the layering of the clouds and weather are so much more accurate and the planes flight dynamics also is improved. Don
  7. I parked my Level D and use the Captain Sim 767 instead. Much better graphics and they have greatly improved the flight performance, Don
  8. The future lies with Prepar3D, FSX and XPlane Ten which I think has the most potential going forward. XPlane and Laminar Research are the best in flight dynamics. And that is where it is at. All Laminar needs to do is improve the colour and the scenery, and port over some of the advances from FSX such as ease of use and virtual world of which FSX is the King with ORBX, UK2000 , Aerosoft and all the airports and aircraft. Don
  9. FSX SP2 Acceleration and FSX Deluxe. The only way to go. But , if you can; have a powerful computer. I run an Intel ® i7 CPU 3.07 GHz, 64 bit operating system, with 12 Gig of ram. I also run two Nvidea GTX680 Cards which by the way doubled my frame rates over the twin 470's I previously had. My system still crashes occasionally and says it runs out of memory. That is with everythng maxed out and running a heavy(PMDG 737). Not so with a general aviation aircraft such as a canenado 172. My best frame rates and visuals occur with all sliders to the right and running 2CM in stead of 5 in ORBX. Heaviest sceneries are from 14-27 frames per second. Most areas such as LAX with Megascenery 26 Frames and up. Uk2000 sceneries with trees and airports in Europe - 40-90 plus frames per second. Don
  10. I have the Carenado 172 and I have commenced training for my PPL on this aircraft type and year. With the Saitek Yoke, Pedals and Trim wheel the sim is surprisingly accurate if you have a fast computer. The sims travel on pedals(saitek) is a bit further, while the toe breaks are very accurrat as is the trim wheel, and yoke. Don
  11. I have all of your products since the beginnning of fs9 and am now soley using FSX. Your 737 series is the epitome of simulator development for a hobbiest like myself who wants a true simulation experience in a virtual world. I am retired and I started in ernest to use the simulator as the means to enhance the obtraining of my Private Licence and purchase of a Cessna. And also to enjoy and experience airline flying that no other means would provide. My first experience with simulation came to me in 1986 when as Commander of the Vancouvers's UBC Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. One of my Auxiliary Constables who as a manager working with the Full Motion Simulator, gave me the opportunity to fly the CPAirs's DC10 full motion simulator at Vcrs CYVR. We flew out of Hong Kong (OLD) and landed in Vancouver. I am one fortunate retiree who can afford his hobby and thus I have pretty well every commercial product of worth available to enhance my hobby. And the virtual world that I created for myself gave me a reason and purpose during my long recovery from cancer and one which left me bed ridden and house bound for over two years. My commencement of flight training was abruptly interrupted by cancer; but my hobby kept me engaged. It is my full intent to surprise my flight instructor who by now thinks I am long gone and have lost interest in flying. As soon as I can pass that medical. Track IR, PMDG and a powerful computer has given me the virtual experience that I otherwise would not have been able to enjoy. And my hobby is equally divided between love of VFR scenery and flying the heavies. I know you guys are in business, and fortunately one you enjoy; but I want you to know that if it were not for serious developers like yourselves guys like myself would not have had that dream to hold on to and enjoy in a most difficult time in life. THANK YOU SO MUCH - AND THAT GOES TO THE SCENERY DEVELOPERS TOO. Don Schlecker
  12. Don Schlecker here. Issue resolved perfectly for me. I just flew from KORD to KJFK with the Captain Sim 757(DHL) and had loaded full sceneries(cities, airports and terrain) on both ends. No crash. Great flight for the first time since I loaded Windows 7 on my new computer. THANKS!!
