These textures will transform your world!
I agree with a lot of what Rich says here. I fly mostly GA aircraft so ground appearance is most critical. Now it can really look quite beautiful is some areas like farmland especially. And best of all is you can actually see GREEN on the ground. The first time I flew with these new textures I was quite awestruck by the sight. The package also comes with clouds, runways, and water effects which I consider all to be top notch. The layout of trees on the ground is much more realistic and the sizing appears accurate. I consider this package the single best fs9 addon I've ever had. The title of this post is very true for me. Thanks to Sascha for this most excellent work! -Kirk

yoke/joystick null space
Greetings...I have a question regarding the dead space I have when using FSX.With different controllers I have used, I always have a very large null zone/dead space at the endsof both the elevator and aileron axis.I would say that on my new saitek cessna yoke which has 180 degree radius, only about 100-120 degrees (just estimating) are actually usable. When I fly FS9, which is what I use normally, the dead space is only 5 percent maybe, which sounds O.K. to me.I am wondering is this a flaw in FSX or something with my settings?I couldn't find anything in the search.I know a lot of people use FSUIPC, but I'm not interested in getting it.Thanks a lot for reading!KC.

DHC-6 flight model accuracy
Sorry, I'm not a twin otter pilot, but in regards to the pitching, it's possible that the thrust flow over the tailand/or angle of thrust from the position of the engines could offset that pitching moment in real life. The only way to model that is FS is to lower the position the engines are placed. In the aircraft.cfg example below, 3 refers to vertical distance of engine in feet above model center. You could try lowering that number to the same number as cg height (shown in example below as -.6)[GeneralEngineData]engine_type =0Engine.0 =9.000, 0.000, 3fuel_flow_scalar=1.00000min_throttle_limit =0.00000[weight_and_balance]max_gross_weight =3600.0empty_weight =2330.00000 // (feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from specified datumreference_datum_position = 0.000, 0.000, 0.000 // (feet) distance from FlightSim Reference position: (1/4 chord, centerline, waterline)empty_weight_CG_position = 0.442, 0.000, -0.600I've never tried this plane, so I can't say much about it, sorry.

Your opinions on a new yoke
fsnl replied to vector's topic in Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etcHi,I just bought the Saitek Cessna yoke after owning a regular CH model for seven years. The quality is much higher on the Saitek and the mount is nice and secure. It also has a steel shaft. I don't know anything about the standard Saitek model.

FS9 crashes a sec after starting
Sometimes I have had this, but only when my internet connection is disabled.I then go to windows task manager, and manually end the fs9.exe and rundll (or some similar named process, I don't remember now.)Then I turn on my internet connection and it will work fine.

REX users, i have a question
If you leave water themes unchecked under the options menu, you'll save a lot of time. Maybe you need to uncheck all the boxes regarding weather?

help ati radeon HD 3200
fsnl replied to cricri258's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcTry setting anisotropic filtering and antialiasing checked in FSX setting, and in Catalyst control panel, also set your AF and AA there too. That's what works for me.

Help with setting up FS2004
If you get Catalyst (CCC for short) installed, there will be an icon on the bottom...or else just right click on the desktop.Once you set the anti-aliasing (AA), the jagged lines will go away.good luck!

Help with setting up FS2004
Yeah, that's what I was referring to.Make sure you have version 9.1... if it's 9.0, you have to get the update from the microsoft website. With regards to shimmering, as Gus has said, keep your in game Mip Mapping setting on 4.Leave anti-aliasing unchecked, and select filtering Trilinear. Then in Catalyst Control Panel, uncheck "Application Controlled" for anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, and set them at 4x and 16x respectively.Select adaptive AA also.
