NGX Wiper Sound volume Increase
Jet_Airliner replied to steve inwood's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
Thanks, I will give it a try when I will be back home from holidays. I will also give you a link with realistic GPWS sounds as well. It's somewhere in avsim library. But the thing is that it sounds a bit different from overall cockpit environment. It feels sort of 3d sound, while pmdg is 2d sound :( -
NGX Wiper Sound volume Increase
Jet_Airliner replied to steve inwood's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
You mean that this is going to stop loud bumping sound when entering or exiting the rwy?If you like enhansing sounds for NGX. You can change the GPWS sounds as well, because the original sounds are a bit unrealistic. They don't have surround effect. Compare any video of real landing and NGX landing. I like the engine sounds, but cockpit environment sounds aren't perfect to be honest) -
Maybe you right. Can you tell me, why I have drammatic drops of fps when the clouds are rendered in fsx? When there is a cavok, i get 40fps from 40locked in any scenery like uk2000 or aerosoft in nx VC. But when the clouds visible i get from 5 to 15 fps.I am really dissapointed, cause i spent quite big amount of money for new PC.My videocard is GTX570 which has stock clock of 780 for core and 3800 for memoryI got it to 845 for core and 4000 for memory.I have FSX.cfg from ventubo tweaker and setting for card is on the green side:Just to mention, that i still have fps drop from clouds with another modes from TABS topics.p.s My clouds aren't so big as in REX. I use clouds from Zinertek weather FX for FSX. I think that they aren't even HD...

But the fact is that the MS Flight folder contains an archive which can be opened by WInRAR and the folders are very similar to previous versions. The changes came to sound and aircraft models. Of course there are many other changes, but they not as big as it looks like. -

Guys, stop arguing about FSX vs XPX. We all know what is what.X-Plane is fine with their graphics engine and optimization. The done well with default scenery. I really like that the clouds are 3D now, even new Flight lacks that. But even in Xp9 which is very old, I didn't see any good quality aircraft close to PMDG or even Feelthere (not wilco). There is no point of buying XPX for serious simmers (which are at least a half of us here are) because, there is no aircraft to fly. No FMC, no sort of active sky where you can plan your fuel like in real world depending on temperature and winds at cruise levels) and many other stuff. I don't see any point in arguing here...it's very silly -

I am waiting for MS FLIGHT!Happy New Year -
Any news on this? What I explored:PMDG 737-700WL (single class):-Dry Operating Weight ---------- 37.600 kg (One PAX weight 80KG)-MAX Zero Fuel Weight---------- 54.600 kg-MAX Takeoff Weight------------- 69.600 kg-MAX Landing Weight------------ 58.000 kgYou can edit the profile in topcat to match PMDG profile. The difference on loadsheet still could be from 100 to 1000kgHigh difference noticed on N1 limit. On TOPCAT you have CFM56-7 22K for 737-700. But if you compare results to N1 limits from FMC with 22K derate, the difference is 4 to 7%

It doesn't tell me what minimums to use. I have the latest Jeppesen charts. There are different minimums given for different missed approach climb gradient. Do you know which one you choose? -

Exactly. You get rid of directors. It interferes you with incorrect position. -

You have to practice. You have to learn the charts very well and know what average fpm you need on diiferent stages of approach . To make life easier, recycle flight directors in this kind of approaches. On final keep an eye on PAPI.Its not hard if you prepare for it well -

By the way I have a question to people who knows this airport well. How do you choose the minimums? The charts gives you different mins for different go-abound climb gradient. How do you know which one to choose?I asked the real 737-500 captain, but he couldnt answer cause he never been in airport like this. -

I got it from youtube. Go to search and type something like 737ngx cockpit approach or vatsim ngx landing.I saw just 1 or 2 videos where most of the procedures were done well, and sadly it was even not on NGX. That's all. Compare to the number of all youtube sim landings. There are thousands of them. -

What do you mean by "my standarts"?All procedures are given by FCOM from Boeing. There is a whole chapter for each phase of flight. All pilots follow this procedures. Airline can make their SOP and customize this procedure a little bit. In FTCM, there is a chapter for each phase of flight with diagrams showing when to rectract flaps, gear and so on for diffent types of approach. I don't see any point of making videos, because there is no point. You not going to learn just from watching videos. It's impossible to understand such mechanism as plane without reading it's manuals. So whats the point of making videos of landing just "without breaking anything"?Firstly, I find it silly to show how wick you knowledge. Secondly, I find it silly because you spend a time for nothing.
