Amazing Robot-Controlled Flight Simulator
From the Flying Mag website: Researchers in Germany have connected a robotic arm to the cockpit section of an airplane to create perhaps the world's most realistic flight simulator. Designed by aeronautics firm DLR, the simulator uses a large mechanical arm built by KUKA, a pioneer in robotics and automation technology, to swing a Diamond DA40/42 around a virtual sky and runways and taxiways. Weather Accuracy - OpusFSX is Spot On!
Your welcome Stephen. I are you telling me that you are able to use Sky Demon with FSX? I use FSXFlight (http://fsxflight.com) to connect with Foreflight and WingX Pro. I contacted Sy Demon about compatibility with FSX or FSXFlight and they did not know what I was talking about. With Foreflight and FSXFlight and OpusFSX the weather report is 100% accurate. When I hit Shift-Z the weather matches what I am seeing on Foreflight.

Prepar3D v2
OpusFSX worked fine prior to the latest update - Ver 3.37.5 a few days ago. Prepar3d 2.0 and OpusFSX created some unbelievable weather to fly through! Then I ran the update to Opus and Prepar3d crashes every time.

Weather Accuracy - OpusFSX is Spot On!
Thought I would share some photos of how accurate OpusFSX simulates current weather. The first image is a snapshot of Foreflight with the satellite overlay depicted. You'll see on the screen that the plane (RealAir's Duke 2 at 20,000 ft) is approaching a break in the clouds. The second and third images are a view from the cockpit and you can see a break in the clouds. Pretty amazing that a weather program is able to simulate the weather so well. Cheers, Frank

WingX Synthetic Vision and FSX Available
WingX just updated their app to support FSX. Just flew a route with synthetic vision and HUD - coolest thing I've ever seen using FSX. Their moving map also "tracks up." You'll need FSXFlight to make it work with WingX. FSXFlight can be found here: http://fsxflight.com WingX Pro 7 info: http://hiltonsoftware.com/ Frank

Will we ever see cutting-edge avionics in FSX?
I think we'll see it on Tablets. WingX already has X-Plane functionality and is due to release an update (I think today) for FSX. I can't wait to see WingX's synthetic vision and track-up for charts. I believe Laminar Research has a synthetic vision app as well. Subscription prices are not cheap as they are geared for real-world pilots. This company has the software that provides the interface between WingX and Foreflight: http://fsxflight.com/ Frank

How to Tune ADF?
I can turn the ADF off and on as well as flip the frequencies. What I can't due is tune the ADF. I'm hovering the cursor over the ADF knob with no results. Also can't get the windshield wipers to turn on - I can place the knob in the parked position and that's it. Anyone have a solution? Cheers, Frank

Cygnus: New Product Lets You Use your iPad for Flight Simulation
At Oshkosh Redbird Flight Simulations released Cygnus, a product built by partner Bad Elf that is designed to spoof your iPad into thinking it is where your flight sim says you are instead of where you really are, allowing you to use popular navigation apps, like Jeppesen’s Mobile Flight Deck, ForeFlight’s Mobile Pro or Garmin’s Garmin Pilot as you fly the sim, allowing pilots to use their mobile device just as they would in the airplane. http://www.flyingmag.com/news/cygnus-new-product-lets-you-use-your-ipad-flight-simulation?cmpid=enews072612&spPodID=030&spMailingID=5455153&spUserID=NzgwNjgyNjY4OAS2&spJobID=202944325&spReportId=MjAyOTQ0MzI1S0
