October 9, 201312 yr After finally building a monster computer that brought FSX to it's knees (i7 4770k/GTX Titan), I am buying a lot of add ons. Right now I am looking for a program that will allow me to see charts while in FSX flying the plane. Is there such a program and if so what is it called?I am also struggling to find the best program for charts/plates. What do you guys use and how does it all work out for you? Cheers
October 9, 201312 yr I use simplates ultra on my tablet that way i view them at any time with the need to come out of the sim and they are all in one place. There is a pdf plugin for fsx/fs9 that is freeware and could be on avsim libary, its called pdf kneeboard i believe which will allow you to view pdf's in side the sim. -Paul-

Thanks I shall try this one since I unfortunately can't buy an ipad after also buying the cessan yoke/throttle/rudder pedal set. Thanks for the tip Awesome program and a clear MUST HAVE add-on in my opinion This sure looks interesting, especially with the moving map! I hope that it is compatible with the flightplans from Aerosoft Professional Flight Planner X since I am planning to get that program too.

They are compatible as long as you export the PFPX plan to FSX format. Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205
October 9, 201312 yr I would use your old computer and network your FSX addons through the second computer, this way you can add Aivlasoft EFB on the second computer and track all your flights. Its also good for Active Sky 2012 and if your with a virtual air lines you can also use there ACARS on the second machine with Widefs from Peter Dowson....
October 9, 201312 yr There is a pdf plugin for fsx/fs9 that is freeware and could be on avsim libary, its called pdf kneeboard i believe which will allow you to view pdf's in side the sim PDF kneeboard is nice but I found using it resulted in screen tearing even in fullscreen mode, so I stopped using it. I either use a separate laptop for charts (don't have an ipad) or I run in windowed mode so I can alt-tab over to my charts and flight plan. For the latter I have disabled pause on task switch and I use Flight1 soundstream so the sounds keep playing when switching windows. A dual monitor setup would be another good solution. October 9, 201312 yr Fltplan mobile for Android and iPad is free and includes all plates approaches arrivals and departures for free.but currently only covers Canada the United States and Alaska. You just have to set up a free account on their website. C.
October 9, 201312 yr Has to be Avlasoft EFB on a networked machine. MUCH better than just a dual monitor setup Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

October 9, 201312 yr I use airnav.com for US. 100% free and real world approach plates and always current. http://www.airnav.com/airports/ and Google for non US airports under google search.. I fist look for the ICAO code a particilar airoport then then just google for ICAO aiport code Code "xxxxx" & "approach plates". And I usually find it. e.g. within Google search "VABB Approach plate" for Mumbai airport and I got this http://sapilot.com/jepp/ALL_AIRCRAFT/Terminal_Charts/INDIA%20(MUMBAI)%20VABB%20BOM.pdf I also sue this for an overview of the locations and roguth cut flgitn planning before using a flight planner http://skyvector.com/ I display either on the 4th monitor of my FSX PC or a second PC (my old core 2 Duo that I bought at the time FSX was relased which wouldn't run FSX properly). Although I have a tablet I don't bother with it Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
