October 9, 201312 yr EFB looks interesting, how did I miss that one. Does anyone know if/how EFB can scan the BGL's to extract all the airport information from 3rd party Airports/Scenery -- if a process exists and how it is accomplished across a networked multi-PC setup? I've got FS Commander 8.5 doing the BGL scan where it builds it's own Database -- map network drives with same letters as my FSX PC that has the airports/scenery. Wonder how/if this would work in EFB. Thanks, Rob.

October 9, 201312 yr Maybe some of these products deliver what I am looking for? I'd like to see a product that gives me charts based on what is installed in FSX and not RW data. I could run it on a different computer or the same computer, but either way, I want the parking positions and frequencies to match what is installed in FSX. MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad

It shows airport charts, frequencies, navaids, approach procedures etc all generated from FSX data. It uses RW data for elevations but for elevations FSX matches RW pretty well especially if you use addon mesh. Just make sure you point it at the correct scenery.cfg so it can incorporate addon airports. Plan-G is best for GA flying VFR or IFR in Victor Airways: If you're flying airliners then EFB mentioned above is likely better. Also the approach procedures in FSX mainly just have lateral guidance, you'll generally need to use RW charts to also have the vertical profile info. Barry Friedman

EFB has RW data for navigation and SIDs and STARs. All other charts are based on FSX data, like approach and airports chars so you will see FSX gates and frequencies. But if there is a conflict between FSX data and RW data, like the new runway at EDDF, you have the option to correct it. Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205
October 10, 201312 yr For me, trying to deal with popup windows in FS is annoying, alt+tabbing to another application is unacceptable since it breaks immersion. Since I don't own an iPad or other tablet, and I only fly in a couple of different areas, I just bought the paper charts for those areas. If you're flying in a lot of different places, this gets expensive, though. Might be better off buying a tablet. -
October 10, 201312 yr there is some very cheap tablets out there which are good for viewing pdf files as you dont need something super expensive if you just plan to use it for something like that -Paul-
October 10, 201312 yr Personally I use dual monitors with my secondary monitor housing a pdf viewer (among many, many other things). If you only have one monitor then PDFKneeboard will let you display PDFs inside the sim. Aivlasoft EFB however will not, it doesn't show real plates, and you will miss the most important part of the procedures (the text parts, there are no text parts in aivlasoft efb). This makes the EFB useless as a chart replacer imo. It does a very bad job of replacing charts vatsim s3
