  1. I assume I would need to turn Vsync on in P3D for that, or is it not necessary?
  2. Steve, what do you advise (to try) regarding the use of TrackIR in the sim? I noticed that moving my head induces more stutter than banking the aircraft, and it also seems that using 'mouse look' to pan around is more fluid than TrackIR. Is there a logic and a sweet spot? Also, are their numbers that are with the limiter to avoid, or ones to favour? I mean using 23 or 27 makes no difference technically? Or do I need to divide something or multiply to get ideal fps numbers? And, if I use 20 it means that it will go under it a lot of the times it seems, loosing fluidity. I tried 25 with pretty good results. Last point: what is the use for using both P3D frame limiter and an outside one (like NI) at the same time?
  3. Steve, thank you for this very helpful explanation. One of many, because I learn a lot from your posts. :Applause: There have discussions for years about the frame limiter in FSX (and now P3D) and if it is useful or even bugged. Many people said it is better to use an outside limiter, but this is not true than. I was wondering for some time already why the default setting of P3D is 'frame limiter 20'. I guess LM wants us to show this setting makes it smooth. However, I think 20 is a bit low for smoothness, On the other hand, 30 or 33 is a bit too high when I am flying in urban areas or detailed airports.
  4. Now I am flabbergasted again The A2A is the most easy on the frame rates of all my planes (except the default Maule) in P3D! And the aircraft I fly the most, it has super smooth flying.
  5. Try setting your 'Terrain level of radius' to a lower setting, like medium. Note that what was Max in FSX is comparable to Medium in P3D. Also try setting Tesselation on for better results.
  6. I use FSUIPC as well for the autosave (among others). Indispensable program!
  7. I am surprised about this statement. On my P3Dv2.5 system the new P3D Turbine Duke is not at all framerate friendly!
  8. Did you try to reset the nVidia P3D profile and the nVidia General Profile back to default, just to check if that helps?
  9. Sorry, you are right. I was clearly an impatient reader...
  10. Flight1 is working on a (free) update for the GTN750 based on the new Garmin V5 trainer. So for the patient users the full world terrain database will be available in the near future (no release date known yet) without having to juggle yourself.
  11. Rob, for your info, this is what I have on my system (running P3Dv2.5 since it's release): SimConnect v 10.0.61242.0 installed on 24/2/14 SimConnect v 10.0.61259.0 installed on 24/2/14 ESP SimConnect v 1.0.20.0 installed on 13/02/14 So all are there for a year now. I remember that last year I read in a forum the advise to install the Simconnect SP1 and SP2 packages (in \P3Dv2\redist\Interface) to avoid legacy problems, so that is what I did at that time...
  12. Sorry to ask, but what is now your final best-working 'display setup' regarding Graphics/AA/DSR/NI? I know each has it own hardware, but still it might help me ^_^
  13. Excellent news! The GTN750 updated version for P3Dv2.5 is released. http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic51682_post321950.html#321950
  14. Very interesting Rob, what did you need to do the get the installer work? Do you think CS will make an updated installer? LM should just add all available Lockheed aircraft to P3D
  15. Yes, you can try SimlauncherX, it is the Swiss army knife for FSX/P3D, including moving map, and it's free! http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=187387 http://forum.avsim.net/forum/722-simlauncherx/
  16. This indeed gets interesting, since I have had this 'effect' in all versions P3Dv2.x. And not only with the Twin Otter, but with also with other float planes. Unfortunately there not many float planes for P3D but I will try to investigate further, and also contact Aerosoft. Please note I am not looking for this effect to be implemented, it is something new that just happened.
  17. Thank you very much for your reply and the video. But I am not sure that we are talking about the same thing. I was referring to the 'spray' that is seen in the air behind the wing, but you are referring to the wake in the water. The 'spray' is hacked into pieces with me (v2.4), but in your video I do not see any spray behind the wing at all. Now I am not sure that it is because of the fix or otherwise... Pleas have a close look again at my pictures: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/460387-prepar3d-v25-development-update/page-20#entry3166667
  18. Rob, is the 'cutt-off' water wash effect also fixed for float planes? If not, can you bring it to their attention? It seems related to the aircraft bobbing on the waves...
  19. Dear Ed, I had a problem with the Milviz B55 Mindstar GNS combo: the clickspot for the 2D popup ("the hand") did not work. Now it is solved by Bill, and I wonder if this change should be incorporated in the Mindstar documentation. http://www.milviz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=4418 Do you have any comments to this? Would this possibly also help other users? Kind regards, Eric
  20. +1 I like the idea. Also a good side-effect of the above. In case you missed it: currently it is possible to change the zoomlevel for showing the navigation symbols, in your preferences. But of course it becomes too cluttered soon, especially in the USA. In Africa however you can change it quite a bit before it becomes cluttered. ^_^
  21. If you have installed any version of Simlauncher, it will automatically check during startup if there is a newer version available. It will ask if you want to download it, and after that it asks if you want to install it.
  22. Thanks a lot, Alex, for jumping in. The more we, as a 'Simlauncher community', can help each other, the more time Maarten can spend on perfecting Simlauncher.

Hi Ed, You can try to 'reset' to the default layout and see if everything is back to normal (like the manual shows).
  24. Let's see if Maarten wants to add this request to his own 'to-add-features' list.
