  1. Hold menu button on CDU to get it started
  2. I get roughly the same fps in ngx and 777. ~38 fps with hidden mouse cursor and 27 fps with visible mouse cursor In the ngx introduction manual it was recommended to run bojote's online tweaking tool, that section seams to be removed in the 777 introduction manual. My question is why they removed that section, has there been discovered any new drawbacks with that tweak tool?
  3. I have found out that alt tabbing, switching between fullscreen and windows mode and minimizing fsx too many times causes fsx to use more memory. and once it's above ~2,8gig there is no point of continuing the flight, cause it will continue to increase and will most likely crash on arrival or landing phase
  4. Been flying around with both options quite much. I've not noticed any difference, the gain must be marginal. IRC it was recommeded in the manual to leave them both on, cause the performance gain was so small
  5. Adding a refueling timer to the aircraft maybe adds couple of rows of code that the program has to run through. My programming skills are limited, but I have made a tetris game for PC and it was about 1500 rows of code. The NGX probably have hundreds of thousands of rows of code. The fuel timer may reduce performance, but it like one hundredth of a fps
  6. Go to airport ENGM and bring down the combiner, see how the hud is perfectly lined upthen go to airport WMKK and start at runway 32, now the hud not alinged, like the picture i posted above.I'm guessing that you are expericing the head boobing effect, it hasn't got anything to do with the ngx it's hardcoded into FSX, maybe you just havn't noticed it before.
  7. Is this what it looks like?
  8. Maybe it's the drunken pilot effect, try switching to an airport far north and see if it helps
  9. Well, it's isn't really easy to measure fps in fsx, it depends on several factors, like mouse visible, weather etc. Maybe his friend was flying around in the default trike at 100fps, then when he upgraded his gfx card and got 115fps.but I doubt it make 10-15fps difference when flying in a sophisticated aircraft like the 737ngx since your fps will rather around 30s range, a 10-15fps gain would be huge then. It would be better to measure fps gain in percent.
  10. The definition of western world isn't really geograpic, anyway heres a map, dark blue color is whats usally called the western worldhttp://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Clash_of_Civilizations.png
  11. Many airports in the western world have rules about using the APU cause of the noise, it's common to start the APU a couple of minutes before engine start. Instead they use a GPU and an A/C unit (if it's hot outside) which is not as loud as the APU
  12. You don't really need the air start unit. As far as I know the air start unit is mostly used when the APU is u/s. It would be uneconomical for the airline company to use an air start unit instead of the APU.
  13. 2) "GSH" is the name of the next waypoint you'll be passing
  14. This table might be usefull for determining the transition level, I found it on wikipediaQNH_________________Transition altitude (in feet)(in millibars)_____3,000____ 4,000_____ 5,000____ 6,000____ 18,0001032–1050_____FL025____ FL035____ FL045____ FL055____ FL1751014–1032_____FL030____ FL040____ FL050____ FL060____ FL180996-1013______ FL035____ FL045____ FL055____ FL065____ FL185978-995_______ FL040____ FL050____ FL060____ FL070____ FL190960-977_______ FL045____ FL055____ FL065____ FL075____ FL195943-959_______ FL050____ FL060____ FL070____ FL080____ FL200
