X-Plane is the king of weather simulation!
I've reported the cloud bases bug a number of times over the past two years. The sim should draw close to what the METAR reports. Glad I'm in the minority. What was the ceiling on the METAR just before you broke out of the clouds? Here is what I'm seeing just now XP 11 vs XP 12... @ KSNS the reported ceiling as of 1400Z is 200 overcast 4 miles visibility. In XP 11 as soon as I hit 200 feet AGL I was in the clouds and cannot see the ground. In XP 12 around the same time @ 200 feet .. i didn't even enter the clouds and can still see the ground

X-Plane is the king of weather simulation!
Two years later, XP 12.1.3's cloud bases are still broken with real weather download on. In this sim, I can pick any random airport with a real world current METAR showing under 1000 foot ceiling.. in the sim the ground can still be seen when well above 1000 ft AGL. In XP 11, same conditions... I can't see the ground when above the reported cloud base on the METAR. Yes this happens briefly sometimes on my end as well... but the clouds come back right away.

X-Plane is the king of weather simulation!
agreed XP11 is the king of weather simulation. XP12 and MSFS still can't depict low IFR weather on my end

X-Plane12.1 is Final...
What's wrong in all versions of XP 12 on my end is the cloud layers, not the visibility. When I set a 200 ft ceiling and I'm at 300 ft, I should be in the cloud and not able to see the ground. XP 12 still can't do this, but XP 11 can.

X-Plane12.1 is Final...
xp 12.1.0 Pick a random low IFR airport... I can still see the ground when I shouldn't. I'm done with this sim for good. Take note sim companies, you won't get my money ever again unless you deliver a fully working product.
